Both Carolinas are great. A big difference people don't often mention is the eastern and western differences, such as weather, bbq, culture. Each state has their mountain regions and beach regions which is amazing for both.
South Carolina has 32K square miles to NC’s 48K. North Carolina’s liberal annexation laws make their cities’ populations larger on paper than they would be if the state’s annexation laws were as restrictive as SC’s. When I hear Carolina I think about the University of South Carolina near where I grew up and my alma mater. I also think of before it was split into two states, when Charleston was its only significant city.
Looking to move from Florida to SC in the Aiken or smaller areas in the northern area. I am retired and wanting to know more about the costs of home owners and auto insurances. Also taxes compared to our outrageous $ here. Florida does not have state income tax so do either SC and NC offer any breaks?
Don't let this beautiful lady fool you. NORTH CAROLINA is far SUPERIOR! The only thing better down there is seafood cooking. There is nothing comparable to Raleigh and Charlotte NC in South Carolina. You can get the same affordability of South Carolina in NC Smaller cities like Winston-Salem are basically the same as Greeneville, Greensboro is similar to Columbia, and Wilmington is similar to Charleston. South Carolina might of grown faster percentage wise but North Carolina clearly adds more people every year 3rd most in the country (140k annually).
It's getting terrible aint even gonna lie to you but only in the middle, to be honest. If you're from eastern north carolina or western north carolina, you're good.
❓❓Are Both S.C. & N.C. Often affected by Natural disasters/Weather on their Coasts❓🤔😎 I’m a Lakes, Rivers, Mountains guy in Smaller towns❕😳😎Under 100K population, 30 minutes to Costco/Sam’s Club or Equivalent & Walmart/Target Groceries or Equivalent… Also would Like to be 30 minutes or Less from LeveL 1 or 2 Hospital for my Parents. 😎I’m looking for 3 - 20 Acres, however, if Property has Many wants, I could go for fewer, even under an acre. 😬Would Prefer Water views or Less than 15 minutes to a Warer ski & Watercraft Lake that isn’t Crazy busy during the week❕😎😎Also interested in Income from Proprty in some way. NOT Restaurant or Bar or Fuel Station. Perhaps Events, Additional homes/Cottages/Cabins for Vacation & Long Term Rentals, Possibly Horse Property for Horse & Human Therapy… Fruit Trees or other edibles on property.😬 Look forward to your reply Soon. Both north carolina and south carolina could definitely be affected by a hurricane. I am born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, the majority of the population is in the middle of the state. So if you live in the mountains or near the beach it's a bunch of small towns that are priceless. You couldn't ask for better people, atmosphere, weather, I will never move from eastern NC!
We have nice weather from the end of August to December. It's cold for 2 months maybe 3, by April, it starts to get warm and we have nice weather until about June. then it gets hot and humid. I grow a nice garden every year.
Live Western, & Visit Coast...

It is best to work in Charlotte North Carolina and live off the South Carolina

Also, if Charleston isn’t vibrant, nowhere in the Carolina’s is.
I hear NC is cooler than SC weather wise
Do both Carolinas have too many people from NJ, NY and Ohio?
