In the city centre almost 90% are foreigners. Tourists, foreign workers at restaurants , clubs, retails ,masseuse, factories , even security guards .( Indonesia, Myanmar , Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Philippines ) . The local are mostly at the outskirts suburbs of KL . We do our shopping at the local suburbia malls ( which is bigger ).
There are so many illegal immigrants in Malaysia....during this hour they all come out and grouped together..make it easy to police/immigration to do the raid..😅😅😅 hope you don't mind our authorities doing their duties
Yes...most become illegal when they overstayed n go hiding refuse to go bck. Thres too many of em now. Big big prblm for us too , n we hate it for causing social prblms here.
I live in the outskirts of KL (just 25 minutes away). Many years ago a group of us thought it'd be fun to celebrate new year in the city so we started from my home at around 8pm. After 2.5 hours in the car, we gave up and tried to turned back. Guess what.... turning back is another issue because we weren't the only ones doing that. At the end, we got back just in time to see our neighborhood "fireworks show"😂😂😂. Yeah what usually takes less than 1 hour to do (go to KL and come back), it took us almost 4 hours. And all that time we were in the car. NEVER AGAIN!!! NEVER!!!!
Kuala Lumpur did an ABSOLUTE poor job this year! I was watching the life and my reaction was "oh.............", We know why Kuala Lumpur is not even in the news
I wish we Malaysians never celebrate New Year. Waste of money and time. Just focus on our life and work. I never go out to town for a celebration. So crowded and jammed. Luckily, we don't allow alcohol and drunk people on the street. It might get worse. Better stay at home and watch the fireworks on TV. Hahaha....
Defos next time, but the other day we saw an instagram reel with all the people at the Petronas in NY and it was insane. Happy New Years Tom! Wish you a successful 2025!
As Malaysian . I never celebrate New Year outdoor in my whole life in crowded place , well late at night activity is not suit for muslim ladies or any family kind of late night activity, ... We never judge KL, our disaster occurs at KL Tower. KL in fact had great fireworks and very lively atmosphere, but the specific event we went to was badly organised
No worries, Malaysia have many new year eve. The next big fireworks is Chinese New Year on 29 Jan, you will see fireworks all over town including residential areas on the eve of CNY. You can check out YT clips of people recording CNY fireworks from their apartments. check out Lion Dance in malls too, Malaysia is top notch in lion dance performance.
First time seeing your videos and I love your positive vibes. Thanks for the kind understanding though I think such bad arrangements shouldn't have happened in the first place. Happy new Year 2025!
Drunkards immigrants sometimes became a big problems in Malaysia..they came and try to behave like they are in their own country. Sometimes it got nasty and it needs our police force to calm the situations.
You have to go early to the venue when there are big festivals like New year especially tiny places like kl tower because too many people also when there.
I’m a local and I was at the KL tower during New Year Eve. Upon arriving at the ground floor, I already noticed that the people weren’t so happy. It was chaotic and their facial expressions were not right. I can’t even stay there for more than 5 minutes. Finally, I chose to leave and I’m glad I did that. I enjoy better view of the fireworks at the vicinity. Glad that you’ll finally make it to the top.
Sorry to hear that..😥.... You should follow local people to celebrate... That how you will feel new experience in kl...simple celebrate but very fun and enjoyed..
The one escorted usually is the king entourage and the prime minister of Malaysia, the ones in the black Marias could be ppl getting arrested for something...or illegal immigrants...
Heya! A fellow Malaysian here, who was also celebrating New Year's at KL Tower. I'm sorry for all the chaos y'all had to experience, from bad management to oversold tickets.😔 Turns out KL tower can only take up to 300 people at once, however greedy managers decided to oversell those tickets (up to 1k tickets) to gain profit. Also for the police and commotion, a fight between some high schoolers and staff members broke out in KL tower (the floor above where y'all were at) If y'all were to leave an hour later, you guys may have seen police escorting people into the 🚚 Thanks for enjoying 🇲🇾, really sorry our country couldn't deliver better but trust me we have more to show than this 😁
so unfortunate you didnt manage to watch kl tower firework. i think this is the first time they do it from top of kl tower. it was beautiful from the ground. you did not see it from inside the tower. i am sure they will improve next year after knowing all the discrepancies that happened and the chaos and overselling. they will definitely do post ?mortem? on these. enjoy malaysia.
Hi to both of you, I just watched this video, and it led me to finally subscribe to your TH-cam channel. It happened right now. Subscribing to your channel is my way of showing support and standing with you as we step into the new year, 2025-a year that has started with some sadness and disappointment due to the incident that disrupted the dreams you had planned. As a fellow local, I feel deeply saddened by the unpleasant experience you went through. I am sure these memories will stay with you for a long time. However, by subscribing, I hope to bring a little light to your hearts and encourage you to smile again. I pray for you both: "Oh God, grant them ongoing comfort and happiness, for they are kind and civilized individuals. Despite the unfortunate events, they handled everything with respect for the staff at Menara KL, showing remarkable composure and positivity. They faced their disappointment with cheerful, calm expressions, and refrained from using harsh words, instead displaying admirable values throughout. Oh God, these are good people-protect them and bless them as they continue to inspire a positive culture within the global community. Strengthen them with smiles and fortitude wherever they go in this world." Wishing you both all the best.
@carmaadventures You guys were one of two disappointed foreign tourists during the countdown to a new year in KL, but there were dozens of videos that had better experience. Don't worry so much about it. You guys are on a journey, good or bad, pros or cons, they are all part of the adventure. 😀
I have never been to any big celebration in any big cities.. coz i dont like crowds. Even in kuala lumpur which is 10 minutes away by car from my residency ampang.😂
not all Malaysian locals celebrate there, even though I was born there.. I didn't feel safe there, I prefer celebrate with my family in Shah Alam Selangor less crowded. But I already didn't celebrate it, just stay at home with my family instead of being in a crowded jam.
As a Msian I simply watch the fireworks from afar. It’s shameful for Msians blaming illegal immigrants for the chaos. To me it’s all down to the organizer
Yellow plate number is for the king or royal families. Yellow is the royal color in Malaysia. Common people can't wear anything yellow in the ancient time. Yellow also often being associated with anything mystical/magic in the Malay culture, which means the kings are the top magicians/wizards in the old world. So, when you see anything yellow in Malaysia it is either royalty or mystic/magic.
Umm to be honest I was near the towers and I saw the fireworks and all the amazing stuff and it felt amazing. Idk about others I just love the outdoor vibe I know you may have spent so much money effort and time but I recommend just go outside with other people and enjoy it for free.
Perhaps Menara KL kalau cannot handle this kind of celebrations jangan buat next year. Unless you can inform those coming early and to have proper and sufficient manpower and to sure that only certain number of ppl can enter the tower.
@carmaadventuresWhat make u think the King fleet of vehicle including vehicle sending criminal? No King in the world wants criminal to come near to them. those trucks are sending palace guards or soldiers.
Those who arrested are usually young men or women that drive motorcycles in dangerous way to celebrate new year. Trouble makers. Here they were known as 'Mat Rempit'.
Damn, you guys got me click to this video 🤣. Some say KL tower scammed you guys, but for me their fault was only lack of communication and information toward visitors.hope they can return your money.
Same like in any law abiding country. As long as you respect the local law and culture, you'll not be arrested and will have a great time here in Malaysia. Fyi, the local police are very efficient in rounding up trouble makers, and there's no compromising if one breaks the law.😅
I stopped going to these places for New Year eve celebrations. Its not worth the time for me. Way too many people doing it. If I were to go, it would be hours earlier and bringing some stuffs for me to pass time. Oh, do not drive there as well. As you already seen it, gridlock traffic.
OF all the Malaysian 2025 Celebration videos, this is one of the ONLY ones saying it was a disaster. Just goes to show you that not everyone has the same experience

Well during new year celebration ( off late ) …. U see that’s de time when all the illegal n legal immigrant will gather together celebrating… there are 3 millions of them now … n I can’t imagine if only 10% of them joined the party around all those famous spots in KL …. n therefore we rather stay silence at home….. happy new year.
I think its a scam. You should ask for refunds. The organizer knew what they were doing. Taking advantage of the situation coz most people would just let it go.
Those dat were arrested its either illegal immigran or a bunch of teenagers involve in a bike race..its normal scene when theres any kind of holiday festive..u guys should get use to it..

Actually, in kl area, mostly theres about 30% maybe , that kind of celebrating their new year in kl area, because its super crowded, me myself prefer to go outside of kl . Or just stay home or having bbq with close friends . KL is dangerous on this kind of events, in this video i spot dangers u might didnt think off, just carefull wherever u are next mates, be safe always, happy new year anyway
i am a local and i give up on New Year or any festivals in KL...too many people and the most noisy ones are foreigners.....
Sad to say, foreigners have invaded the tourist attractions every holiday. Foreign workers flocked there and make a nuisance😔
Those who shouted are non Malaysians. Local ppl usually do not take part in these chaos

I think its a scam. You should ask for refunds. The organizer knew what they were doing. Taking advantage of the situation coz most people would just let it go.
we are on the process, so hopefully the claim goes smoothly, it can get difficult sometimes
