If you're over 6 feet, looks like it would need a section to extend over the folded down seats in front. Or alternatively, you could extend it out the back and cover that with a tent/awning.
This is amazing and exactly what I've been looking for, but I need it to be at least 24" high

This is exactly what I need for my newest Element since I got one with the center console and have regretted it ever since because I can’t sleep comfortably. I did t understand your comment on you only used the pull out bed when it was out. So what is wrong with pull out design?
Pull out bed did not save any space, and was not functional, only when it was out or extended did it serve a purpose, hard to pull out and nowhere to store bedding. this works so much better for me.
I just watched your video about the Honda Element bed you designed. I really like your ideas. I own a 2006 Element and really want to travel to the Eastern Coastal Areas to this summer and fall. I am a bit confused. I looked at your next video as well. Are you laying this platform over the back seats when they are opened flat?
It seems like there would be very little storage. But I do like the legs that you designed.
Hi Gayle, check out my how to build video and you’ll see that the seats are removed and the mounting is modified, however everything can still be put back to factory specs in 15 minutes, there was no drilling or modifications to the Elements itself, this is a great design and works well

Wow this is awesome. Looks good with the carpet suprisingly. Nice color choice. I think wood looks so tacky. Do you think it's possible to put some sort of rubber paint sealant all over the wood instead of carpeting? That way if you have a dog it's easy clean? And so the mattress wont slide around?
I guess you could do anything you want, but the carpet keeps it from rattling, thanks for commenting. BTW, do you own an Element?

I used the back seat brackets, it turned out really clean, no modifications to the vehicle and everything can be returned to factory in minutes, this is explained in detail in the next video, I was really happy with this design and it turned out way better then I thought, this'll be very easy to build.

2x3 should be used, I don’t know if 2x4’s would be better

I bought a quality 4ft x 8ft 3/4 plywood, I had Home depot make two cuts, 48 x 52" and 19" x 48" I rounded the corners to fit the Element, I bought indoor outdoor carpet and covered it, bought hinges and screwed them together, I'm making a video on how to do this and I will release it next week.

I actually have one, this way when I bring my bike I can carry it inside, it’s basically built the same way

I just have a prototype, I haven’t used it yet, winter came and I set that project aside, it was built so I could keep the bike inside while camping, I’ll upload the video once I’m happy with the results, it’s basically the same design, just doesn’t go all the way, I added legs

this was actually very simple to build, I'm working on a inside release for the tailgate now and will post this as soon as it's finished, hope you'll stick around for this, I'll try to make it look factory and as simple as possible
