I think you did a good job of presenting your updates. The quickened time-lapse parts were well done. Everything you said was understandable. I've watched so many "builds" that I can draw them all in my sleep...well, okay, maybe not. Planning my build for one day soon. Thanks.
this is awesome! so many people who camp/live in their element, remove the seats completely and put a permanent bed in so I love this! still have the seats and bed. great video!
Awesome video! Do you have the dimensions/plans for this? I love that you can keep the memory foam in that front box! This set up looks perfect for my up coming trip. Thanks!
hey, I wanted to ask you about your mattress topper! have you done any cold weather camping with it? how has it performed? I figured that a foam mattress topper would not be as insulating as a specifically designed camping pad, but I can't find camping pads with the dimensions I need for this build. thanks!
I've only used this in the winter. Works great. For extra cold nights you could put a thermarest under the foam Aswell. I've camped in temps below - 10C and been ok.
I just LOVE the mods you've made and am about to copy a few of your ideas. Question - you look tall and your dimensions measure about 5'3", so Im 5'10" and my husbands 6'2". so we may need to add a wedge onto the front seats and lean them forward for extra room. Or how would you extend the bed length?
Hi. How did you make that lever to get out the back? Do you possibly have a video on that? I was thinking of putting it directly over the latch on the bottom part, but everyone on TH-cam I've seen who made one puts a lever on the far end. Is the reason for that. Also, I'm interested in how you made that tent back. Nice job! Thanks for any help in this!
altosame if you pull the pannel off the door you will see the mechanism that opens the door. I just drilled a hole thought the pannel and attached a cord to the mechanism.
Hello! Love this mod! Super cool, do you have any sketches/dimensions/material list made?? Super interested in making this bed for my '11 Honda Element!!
Solid build man. I'm almost finished with my own, but now I'm wondering what to use for a mattress. I really like the sizing and packability of yours. Can I ask what company and size mattress you used? Thanks a ton!
@@TheHowtoDad sweet...that means I am looking at the right stuff already. Did you d something like a 2 or 3 inch? And would you say its comfortable enough for side sleeping? Headroom is a tough thing to save in The Element...I appreciate your help a ton!

Hi! How did you attach the overhead cargo net, and do you have a link to the cargo net you bought? There's only three handles in my Honda Element so I don't know where to attach the fourth corner!
for the latch to open the back door... how did you do this? my element '04 has no openings in the back window... pardon my ignorance, this stuff isn't my strength
Jay Gold thanks for the feedback. I'll be sure to pay more attention to what ever makes you happy in the future. Thanks for contributing in a positive way!
The levels in front are fantastic for parking.
Making the boxes modular to fit behind the seats. Super smart.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much. I got to do this with my Element. I'll check out the rear door and unscrew it to figure it out. Sounds easy.

Easy! I bought a memory foam matress topper and cut it to size. Rolls up and fits in the box nicely

Where did you get the stuff you made for the privacy shields? (link?) also can you show how you were able to open the trunk from the inside?
Matt Yam home depot, Lowe's, Any hardware store really. They are in the plumbing section. It's for wrapping hotwater tanks
TheHowtoDad thanks!
Where did u get that back vent shade made at
it was a tent/canvas shop. they made a template and sewed it up for me. I just matched the snaps with some that I screwed in to the vehicle.

there is a video on how to do this here: th-cam.com/video/aCRTHZcE2Ro/w-d-xo.html
If someone can help me? Where can you get the rear cover
I had it made at a canvas shop. I'm not sure if it's commercially available.
TheHowtoDad ok thanks it’s pretty cool
thehowtodad are you from cali ?

TheHowtoDad was it hard to cut? Whats the thickness? people are saying queen fits? i dont think so huh
Tina Truong easy to cut. not sure if a queen would fit...
Anyone want to help me make some #sketchup plans for the bed mod?
