I'm a new subscriber. So glad I found your channel. I want to one day do the same thing you originally talked about. Start with a door and then get the rest. I would use a sbc just because I don't know anyone locally that knows flatheads.
It's nice knowing there is someone fairly close to watch and hopefully get building tips from --- You may know of " Iron Trap Garage " on the East Coast that I am following along --his name also Matt -- he brought home a '30 Roadster which he called --- Sweetheart Roadster --- at that time I had found a '28 Roadster --- just about in same condition ( Ep #1 ) ----- A viewer below asked if that was you on Leary Way in a fender less -- you said no -- It was your friend Jimmy ---- That's been a question in the back of my mind on doing my Roadster --- Is it Legal -- to go Fender less in Washington -- Which is the way I'd like to go ---- You had a two car garage -- too small to do anything -- got a new shop -- more space --- which we seem to QUICKLY fill up again -- and we begin to wonder --- what happened to ALL that room I saw just not too long ago-- at least that's what I'm thinking on my space ----- Thank You for the Video --- I'll follow you along and maybe help me out also ------- Rodney
I do know Matt! I'd say we're becoming pretty good buddies at this point! We text almost every day it seems. Your project sounds cool! As far as fenders, in Washington, we have a "fair weather law" which basically means that it's legal as long as it's not raining. Which is kinda funny of you think about it. I'm not sure Jimmy has had much trouble without fenders. The police are generally pretty into old cars and I know personally I've been driving model A's without lights, doors, floors, fenders or windshields. With no registration and I saw 6 or 7 cops on my test drive. Didn't get a second look from them, and 1 of them gave me a thumbs up...so...that's been my experience. Haha. Thanks for watching Rodney, If I can be of any help, give us a email seattlespeedshop206@gmail.com Thanks Matt.
Sub #91 reporting in...enjoyed the look-see of Suzie. I buy em that way too. Got a neat project intro coming up as well. Please drop by Boxcar's Garage and chat!
I noticed you have some flathead engine sitting around your shop .I have a 59A I would like to sell if your interested in buying. It was running when i took it out of my 1947 ford coupe. Plus all kinds of other parts for a1946-48 ford .I live in Oregon down the road from you.let me know if you are interested 😀.
Always interested in a running flathead! You can get in contact with us at seattlespeedshop206@gmail.com. We'd love to chat more about it. thanks so much for the offer!
We've got a couple more projects to introduce before you'll see this one again. But I promise the next video has some actual work in it. The back story to "Susie" is a little more in depth than most, and deserves its own video. Thanks for checking us out!
Susie the blue coupe is the best movie to ever come out of Disney
We could not agree more!
WOW Matt, I'm glad your tackling that project. That's rougher than anything my skill set can handle. Going to be a good build to follow!
I'm definitely gonna learn some stuff on this one! At least i can't make it worse....or can I?
Look forward to each episode lot of work in this ol hotrod
Bill Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks! We'll be back on this one soon!
Old survivor hotrods are the best! 👍

Nice project hope you keep working on it!
Thanks! We'll try!
Sounds like a similar (cheap) approach to my cars! X-D
I always saw "Susie" as a Sport Coupe. :-) Will gladly follow this build! :-D
Definitely could be a sport coupe. Though in one of the pictures it has roadster doors. Doesn't really matter! Thanks for tagging along!
Looks like my kind of content. Subscribed to see where it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks Matt.
Know where I can get rear bumper brackets for a '39 Deluxe coupe???
We would probably just try a wanted ad on the hamb or fordbarn.com. if you haven't already.
Hi, Are you the guy I've seen driving a fenderless 30/31 four banger coupe along Leary Ave?
Nope. That's my buddy Jimmy, though.
Just subscribed for this one! Also I’d be interested in buying the firewall and cycle fenders from it if you wanna sell them
We may in the future, but not at this time. Thanks for watching!

We're giving you a follow!
I don't know anyone locally that knows anything about flathead engines. I want a 2 door sedan... or even a 37ish Pontiac/Buick
Sedans are great because they have so much more interior room. 37 Pontiac/Buick are beautiful too.
