Thankyou for the kind words my friend, it means a lot. This was a special build and probably my favorite saw thats left my shop. Hope it serves you well.
Well done beautiful saw. Is there a place to get parts for these XL922s ? I was given one by my great grandfather and would love to get it back to 100% but sourcing parts has been difficult.
Beautiful work Tinman. She's a dandy fir sure. Thank you sir. Oh I look forward to seeing the two Homelite brothers cuttin together. Love ya brother. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
I've repaired my old friends super xl 925 from 1963, thing is a beast and I love running it. Finding parts is difficult, the seal between the tank and feed line is rotted so i had to engineer a fix but so far its holding up. It needs a new air filter also but I haven't been able to find one that fits. Awesome saw!
What did you use on that fuel line? Mine has the same issue, I tried fixing with seal-all but I ended up blocking the damn line all together😂😂 also got a leaky screw on the carb but thats an easy fix
Buckin you and tinman make a great pair brother. He builds an awesome saw and yes it is very clean and squared away when you get it. Tinman. Great job. As for the other issue I trust your judgment and that is that. I appreciate you my friend. Love ya brother. ❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲
Old homelites have always been my favorite.Reason Ive got to many. They just sound so wonderful.Classic badge of authority.Keep that old girl going my friend.
Hi Buckin, I was just thinking about something you once said years ago now and those words were. " there is great reward in doing the things that people couldn't be bothered to do" !! And I really love and respect that sentiment, and I believe how that resonates with you tells you alot about yourself. And you also said just the other day " don't be a" " that will do guy"!! That's exactly why I have great respect for you Brother. 🤠🤝🇦🇺
Great Video BR. I have found myself moving to all old time Homelites. Not sure why but I now have about 10. Everything from the Original EZ, C7 and SXl's. You got me into Macs but really starting moving all my searches and restorations to Homelite.... Thanks!
I have had a Super Wiz 66 with a 30" bar. Watching this makes me want to make it run, I have had it for 20 years. I couldn't let it go to the dump when my buddy was cleaning his shop.
Hello Buckin, I am fortunate to be close and feel great giving back and helping out. Love wins and that saw is a ripper or as you suggestedi a Pontiac to a Chevy
As do you sir. Great to see builders and saw guys getting along in this comminity, unlike some of the forum stuff i have read. Hope the new move and job is going to be the ducks nuts for you buddy.
Love it Buckin’!!! Hope you’re doing well brother. I have had touchy situations with sticking my neck out for people in the past. It can definitely bite you but you know what, you get a lot of grace from the big man upstairs by treating others the way you’d want to be treated. Helping someone out is never wasted time even if it backfires slightly. Love you brother!! Blessings to you and the family!! Be kind!!
Great looking and running Homelite! My dad used to log with Homelites back in the 70’s and early 80’s. I wish Oregon still made those Power Match lightweight bars too.
That 922 is a beast Bucking, Tinman did a bang up job on that beauty. I have an old homelite super xl automatic that my one of my buddies gave me, awesome little saw that only needed a fuel line and filter and she started. Hope you all have a great rest of your day friends and see you on the next one.
I love tinman! He's such a good, wholesome, honorable family man, just like yourself! He gave me the courage AND knowledge to tackle fully rebuilding my ms460, and porting it as well. I hope to meet you and The Tinman someday! Take care Buckin!!!!
Tin mans work is top notch ! I ordered from hicks . Handles looked great on their site . And they are from my state of PA. Ordered on May 2nd and still haven't gotten any shipping info . I been told by them it would ship out soon but time will tell . Hoping I didn't get hosed
Buckin and Tinman, thank you. I recently changed my Homelite C7 from a .404 to a 3/8 rim sprocket and threw a 28 inch Oregon bar on it, using some piping as a shim on the bar studs since it is a Stihl mount bar. All these tips and tricks I learned from you guys, among many others. Thanks again! Buckin, I’ve also gone from a 1 axe guy to a 5 axe guy in the last year and a half. Thanks for teaching me how to haft as well! -Jay
You are genuine, you have everyone safety first second and last because you know how fast things can go sideways when you let your guard down. When people stop take the time to show a better safer way.
man! I didn’t know anything about this saw. I just bought one yesterday from an old man in California for $25 bucks just because it was very sturdy and appealing I bought it even if it doesn’t work. it looks like something that belongs in my top garage shelf just to look at it, it’s awesome.
I recently bought a externally abused xl 913 here in England, when I collected it the fuel was still in the tank and boy was it old, so old that the fuel pipe had disintegrated into black sludge in the tank. On inspecting the bore it was still good. Did a carb overhaul and she fired up after three pulls amazing !!! They do not make them like that anymore.
Powerful words at the start! Tinman done wicked with the homelite. I feel I will just as excited as you as I just purchased a sp125c locally been looking for a while hard to find here in New zealand 👍
I know I'm a year late to the game adding this comment but everything that I see on your channel is absolutely amazing BBR and has inspired me to start my own vintage chainsaw collection. My wife on the other hand thinks I'm nuts but respects my love for saws lol keep on making amazing content BBR 😎
Beautiful saw, Billy! I worship he had cut the exhaust pipe off at a bit steeper angle, so it didn't block when it's sitting on a flat surface. Sweet saw and dogs. Should run for a long time with that mod, I would think... Not too aggressive and idles low and even like a go- to saw should 😀
I did my apprenticeship with the Forestry Commission of New South Wales Australia, we had piles of dead saws the mac pile was huge, the Stihl and Husky piles were comparable, my favorite was the Homelite, not that they were any better, I just liked them.
I feel you. I recently fixed a homelite super xl for a friend. It was his grandpa's saw and he wanted to bring a piece of his grandpa back to life. Got it running for him, tested it out, and fell in love with it. I ended up searching all around for one, and found an old man who had 2 of them. took me forever to find a NOS cylinder and piston for it, but my God was it worth it. I've fully rebuilt it, and it'll pull a 22 inch bar through wood like a knife through butter. The other brands are just as good, but there's something about the crackle of that engine and how it runs. Looks great with that baby blue and white paint too.
Hey Buckin! That Homelite is just the best - I so want one! I've got one of the first 044's imported into Australia and it's cracking harder than ever (been well loved) and I never want to port it. However, Tinman's TH-cam content is so good,I'm thinking of porting my brush cutters and any other 2stroke I have. Both your channels make my day- Thankyou!
Man I tell you I wish I knew what was wrong with mine I hate to think I'm going to have to tear it apart and find out what the problem is I just can't get mine started that and I need a new fuel cap but I'm glad to see there's two more still running good video
Remind me of Ole Gary Busey how ya paint pictures with terms and lingo 😂.. how about doing a video or 2 on your work trucks, those Ford's probably have a couple stories we'd love to hear about my friend.. those Buckin Billy Ray-isms are priceless knowledge Sir...
Hi Bucking BiLLy Ray .. that saw saw is potent i cut with a modern 54cc Tandem chainsaw and it power is simpLy off the scaLe .. I'm speechLess about mine i use it for commerciaL cutting asweLL great sawa
Have a super XL 922 sitting in my garage right now, waiting to be fired up, but struggling finding why it won't tick. I'll get it though, one of these days. Take care everyone! Much love to all from Northern Alberta!
That is an awesome saw! I watched the video from your lost&found phone... I see why you were so disgusted with having lost it. I'm glad Larry didn't wind up doing all that camara man work for nothin'😅
Hey buckin, me and the wide were just talking about some faces we haven't seen In a while how's your lovely wife and children? Tell them all we said hello from reading england, same goes for Brian how's he doing? Haven't seen you round there splitting his wood In a while give him the buckin army hello too. Much love brother keep it up
