The helmet is self-defense because when somebody attacks the Predator's body the Weaponry is to activate as a protection shield, so when those kids try to hit that kid and they hit the helmet, the helmet activated to attack those kids because they were attacking him.
Oh, sweet! Two reactions in a week? Working overtime, Ryan! And no, you are not crazy; as much as I dislike the various aspects of this particular film, your reaction and the review was totally on point, and therefore very enjoyable to watch, haha. It's just amazing how a good editor/reactor can work wonders even with a bad film, so kudos!!
The weirdest thing about this film is that, when it was announced, everybody had high hopes given that the director (although I don't know if he also wrote the script, hmm), Shane Black, played the jokester character Hawkins in the original _Predator_ (looking back now, maybe that was the tell-tale sign, haha!). Black has some good films in his repertoire, I think he wrote some classics like _Lethal Weapon_ and _Last Action Hero_ (check them out if you haven't seen those), so he definitely has talent for action/humor combos. But you said it yourself, just about everything in this film feels forced or odd or out-of-place somehow, from the tone to the story to characters etc. And alongside very, _very_ troubled production, ranging from script leaks and massive reshoots to entire deleted scenes and roles, it is safe to say this is the most contentious out of all the _Predator_ films, to the point that many franchise fans ignore it outright. (Myself included. Although I did chuckle a few times and some of the kills were… quite something.) Anyway, highlights! Best jumpscare: I think the only one scene where you flinched was when the normal Predator appears behind Quinn? Best line(s): tooo many funny ones, especially when something off-tone happens, haha. And best shocking moments: again, scenes of many and various gruesome deaths, you looked quite uncomfortable with some. Like the dude shot through the groin? Ugh. Now, on to _Prey_ which, while not without its flaws, is a massive, I'll repeat myself just in case, _massive_ upgrade in quality after this one. Looking forward to it!
I'm not going to lie, I posted this one early because I didn't enjoy the editing process and as for my feelings after watching I decided to just get it on the channel and move on haha! So THANK YOU for the praise! Ohhh thats disappointing if people had high hopes for this, don't get me wrong there are enjoyable moments and I feel if I had tried to think of this as a stand alone film I may have enjoyed it more! This film definitely felt like it had gone through a lot of struggles in production! But the overall tone was just a miss for me, hence the lack of jump scares etc that I was expecting! I'm super excited to jump into Prey! I can't believe it's the latest film! After that all that will be left from this epic journey will be the new Alien movie! Thanks for checking out the reaction! Appreciated as always 😁
@@SofaSlothsWell, so far there hasn't been a reaction I didn't enjoy upon viewing it, especially when you sprinkle in that sober but sharp British wit & humor, so you must be doing sth right with the editing, haha! (Eh, but I must excuse myself in case you wonder why I don't comment on _Hill House_ reactions, the reason being I haven't watched the series, yet - I generally don't like Mike Flanagan's series output, except _Midnight Mass_ , and I much prefer his earlier full-feature films like _Absentia_ or _Hush_ ). And fret not, I think the sequel to _Prey_ has been greenlit, so hope remains high for future installments! Woohoo!
No worries about Hill House, I know those shows aren't for everyone however that show was a great watch full of twists and turns, I loved it! I have been recommended Flanagan's prequel to the shining which I may have to check out!
@@SofaSloths Ooooh, that would be _Doctor Sleep_ right? Yep, I haven't seen it but I have heard it is quite good. And don't hate me Ryan, but I could swear that was a sequel, haha! 😅 If I ever do end up watching Hill House, I will do a full marathon of your reactions, scouts honor! ✌️
re: the movie's wierdness. A contributing factor that they had to rewrite / refilm certain scenes bc Olivia M. turned in Shane Black's, who was in OG Predator) friend he was on Sex abuser registry. The friend was supposed to be part of the oddball prison bus group.
True! Just one of many issues within the production, but what is arguably even worse is that apparently Black knew of his friend's record and _still_ put him opposite Munn's character as an annoying loonie that constantly hit on her. Awkward and uncomfortable at the very least, sheesh. It's like the entire production of this film was cursed or sth.
This movie was definitely my least favourite, and I know there are some highs and lows in the franchise but this one ranked lowest for me! I was so disappointed!

Wow thats unbelievable! Thanks for sharing this!
Do watch Predators with Adrian Brody!
I already have! It's on the channel 😁
@@SofaSloths sure!
I honestly really like this one.
I do like how we get a little more detail into what the Predators are after and how they are trying to upgrade their species.
This was quite an interesting element to the movie!
This movie are so bad 🤣
