- Hey everyone!
This piece is special to me. I have to tell you how much i love the movie The Last Samurai, watched it a lot of times and i love everything about it, the atmosphere, the scenery, the conversations.. it all matches so well together.
I am a big fan of Japan anyway, of samurai and i myself collect katanas and other samurai swords (and yes, just for the right feeling for this video i placed one of them on my sheet music stand ^^)
Soo.. i listened to this piece i don´t know how many times in my life already.. it just gives you peace while listening (i highly recommend that you listen to the original as well, not only my cover, it really is beautiful, Hans Zimmer is just a genius!)
A good friend on youtube, Noud (juggernoud1: / juggernoud1 ) was so very kind to send me the sheet music that he arranged himself.

Ok, about the video: i planned on playing this with my piano`s strings, as it would sound more like the original, but it is not the same. Sounded kinda weird to be honest. So i decided to play the first half of it piano only, and in the second half i added strings, this way it suits the arrangement better anyway.
I hope you like it, i gave my best, i even had chills during playing it myself lol ^^
and i guess you have to be very patient, since it is a slow and dreamy piece :)

I've become quite a fan of the music in this movie, Hans Zimmer is truly amazing. And I have to say you captured all the emotion I feel when listening to his original in this piece. Thank you very much.

6:00 and on is what gets me. You did wonderfully, thank you for your cover on this track. The Last Samurai is my favorite movie of all time let alone favorite OST as well. Hans Zimmer would be proud lol.

This is amazing. It puts tears in my eyes. I love this movie SO much, I watched it over and over again. The plot, the soundtracks (Hans Zimmer is incredible! I'm a great fan of his), the location etc! Especially because I'm a huge fan of Japan, and the samurai.

Man spüt wie viel zu in das Lied gesteckt hast, wirklich wunderschön gespielt. Der Film war auch nicht schlecht, ich glaube, dass war einer der Filme wo ich am Ende etwas weinen musste.

Im quite a fan of The Last Samurai too...you have done great justine to a beautiful piece as always! The raw emotion and feelings...fantastic! Brought both a smile, and tear to my eye!
I am a poet, but it is of a small use in compare to this. I wrote a poem inspired by the film, but it is not the same as having a talent to play on a piano such a music. Inspiring, sad, tranquil and... heartbreaking. I have many troubles myself and I feel that if I could play this on a piano of my own, it would bring me that small measure of peace. Alex, you are really lucky man. Bravo for this.

Many of us has been facinated by this movie, for all artistic aspects. But mainly we all might be in resemblance with both of the main characters (Algren & Katsamotu); in a way and deep inside ourselves, we might be similar to them i.e. seeking or craving for some beauty, self-value or perhaps (Peace) like them.
