One huge factor I think you forgot to mention is when it comes to superhero relationships with civilians is the obvious fact that if that relationship is public knowledge that the villains can take advantage of the heroes. The Villains can and will capture, torture, if not kill the heroes' love interest without a 2nd thought. Meanwhile who's going to try to capture Harley Quin to get to the Joker? The Heroes won't stoop to that level and even if they did, the nature of villains would be to NOT rescue their love interest. In most cases they'd use them as a meat shield or a means to ensure their own escape at the cost of their lovers. And it has happened with Harley and Joker more times than we can count!
Agreed my friend and I have the same thoughts on that why do Supers have to be with regular ass people in relationships like it never made sense to me.Because I know for a fact that there are superheroines for the superhero to be in a relationship with and the best part about it you both know each other's secret identity.

Well with Tony and Pepper at lease Tony being a superhero does not add mush more danger to Pepper life then there job working in a major tech industry that basically makes super powers. Even if Tony wasn't Iron Man they still be targeted by several of those villains. Hell aren't several of Iron Man villains people who had gripe with Tony before he became Iron Man and were planning to do stuff to him before he became Iron Man.
