This is an updated version of the original video with new games included but also some changes. The reason? Arika, developer of the TGM_series, is VERY strict about how their games are presented and expert Tetris player, Zach Amador, was kind enough to bring this to our attention. The video has been updated with all the necessary changes and now features proper footage captured from original arcade hardware! Sorry for the confusion but we wanted to make sure everything was to the letter!

@@manuel0578 Sure thing! Starting at around 26:28, I've included all new Grand Master footage being played by a super skilled player using real arcade hardware. The game right after that was previously Tetris 4D in the first video but NOW I've also included Capcom's Magical Tetris Challenge (which is gorgeous). I also have new footage for TGM2 and 3 from real arcade hardware AND footage of TGM Ace for Xbox 360 as well. Plus I also made a few tweaks to the presentation here and there fixing a couple flaws in the original and rewrote a couple minor things in there.

the lock delay in cardcaptor sakura tetris is only long because you aren't pressing down to lock the pieces, with the tgm-style sonic drop mechanics you press up to make the piece drop to the bottom of the field, then down to actually lock it. this allows for fluidly moving a joystick from up, to left or right, to down to tuck pieces underneath an overhang

@digitalfoundry Hey John, sorry to break it to you, but the updated version of the video still contains the same misinformation about the common NES release. You still claim that it has only single direction rotation, but that is not true. You can rotate the pieces in both directions. A-button for counter-clockwise, B-button for clockwise rotation. Again: This version is considered one of the best and it is still in use for the official Classic Tetris World Championship.

I was kinda put out by how little Tetris Worlds was discussed, but that might be because I'm an unreasonably huge fan of that game. It's on 5 different systems, with essentially 3 different versions existing. Other than it's place in Tetris history by laying out many of the guidelines officially, it is also a remarkably strange game. A story, multiple gamemodes based on older Tetris games and ripoffs, a unique soundtrack, character creation, and level backgrounds that evolve as you progress in each mode's "world."
