I've never played a game as big as this which concerned me because I love the medical/medieval theme. After watching the playthrough I'm happy to see the gameplay isn't as bad as it looks. Of course I'll need my gf's approval before pledging.
It's my decision but most likely she would be the only other person playing with me and if she isn't feeling it she won't want to play and I don't want to get a game and have it sit on my shelf for forever.
@@alecratter9898 Ok thats understandable. If the other person won't enjoy the game its pointless to buy it. Although, I think this game might work better with 4 or 5 people - more strategic planning would be involved
Thanks, great preview! The game looks great but the pest/aid cards and starting position are too random for me. You got a way better start thanks to the luck of starting position that went well with building farms quest. In addition, pest hitting your building (2x) actually seems like a bonus as you get a free person to heal and then get benefits from that
since you can see what all the objectives for the entire game are right from the start, if you're not in a position to pursue the current one to best effect, youu can instead be setting yourself up to get a bigger payday out of future ones, while other players are pursuing the current one, which means they won't be in as good a position for the later things. it works out okay. and as the game goes on, there are SOOOOOO many sick people flooding the board, a copule of 'freebies' at the beginning isn't too muchof a swing in our experence :)
so is this a symmetric game or assymetric game? Are all the playerboards the same or do you start out with different power/qualities? How is replay value added?
the main variables aren't set tot he players but the world, with randomly seeded folks needing saving and also randomly chosen objective an extra actions over to the right of the board
Seems like it could get really crazy with 4 people 😂 what happens if someone lands on the same city? Can you both build there? Or is it area control style (who ever gets there first is the only one to build there)
yes. the cities can have up to 3 buildings (from 3 different plyaers), the towns can have 2 buildings, and the outer villages can only have 1. locations with 2 or 3 buildings won't generate sick people from events. also if you try to build where someone else has already built, you get less influence :)

You don't need to. It's your decision
i'd say it's a sign of a healthy relationship that you include your sig. other in financial decisions!

A very good and well-made video, Richard! I really appreciate your reviews and your enthusiastic presentation. A pleasure to watch.
Looks really interesting, I like where this game is going
A Round can consist of multiple Turns. That's how it is in many games.
yup, and i disagree with many games in their defintion! :)
im backing this. i like the idea of the black death and seeing it played out in a board game setting is cool
Thanks for the excellent preview. This game screams for dual layered boards. ;)
All on board! nice preview of the game as allways :) im all in for the KS

I wish it was developed with an actual map of Europe with variable capital/origin placement.

🔥🔥🔥
Why did you get 3 influence? I thought you would only get 1? Great video by the way!
timestamp please
🎉Wohoo can't wait

I love the look of this game but all the boards are just too big. Such a shame.
what is the board size?
someone else commented that they're making the board smaller, so i don't know what the new size will be!
Pest is an odd name for this game.
in the 1500s pest was the word used for plague apparently: www.etymonline.com/word/pest :)
And still the word used in French with a final "e": "Peste"
So super thematic to me 😁
The scientific name for the bacterium that causes the plague is Yersinia pestis
It's the German word for Plague. And the game designers are German 😊
Also the Dutch name for the plague
