Exactly. This deck lacked starters and diverse ways (outside of the bread and butter combo with geartown + Catapult) to get the ball rolling. Statue was the cherry on top with it being able to special summon which is what Ancient Gear Dragon should've been.

Centur-ion player was hard to watch. Not only was that the wrong normal summon, but for what reason do you not start with Oath and prioritise getting the field spell before a potential droll 🫠

@ricardomoscoso6223 Don't be too discouraged. With a bystial build and red reign the deck becomes so control heavy. Summon soul resonator, get lotus king, synchro into red rising dragon, make abyss, use lotus king to send red reign, grab red reign from gy. At the base minimum, you have an omni negate and a Banish board wipe. It's even crazier if you have super nova plus red zone with red reign. That's 3 Banish board wipes in one turn.
As much as I love ancient gears, Konami just refuses to address the fundemental problem with the deck: the absolute lack of options going first. This is a cool card, and def a welcome addition to the deck, but everything at this point feels too little too late. I’d love to be proven wrong, the deck will always be one of my favs personally, but it’s just feels cursed to be ass forever.
