Strange that you didn't ever hear about Depeche Mode, i mean they are one of the biggest bands of the world, and one of the biggest electronic acts with a huge cult following from the 80s on still filling stadiums. Back in the 80s and early 90s they were actually one of the most innovating electronic music bands.

In 2017 Depeche Mode became the only band EVER to play (and sell out) 4 consecutive nights at the Hollywood Bowl. This was on their last tour. They are huge, their live shows are huge- it’s not really just a concert: a Depeche Mode show is more of a religious experience.

Very eloquently expressed. I was 9 when Speak and Spell was released. Attended 101 at the Rose Bowl, and through my cardiology internship, I was able to see them globally from the world violation and devotional tour. I was able to meet Dave, Fletch, Martin, and Alan with a signed album of Violator. Excellent memories, but you expressed how I feel.

My all time favorite band! Been to a show from every tour they have done since 1989. I'm heart broken to hear of Andy Fletcher's passing 💔 I'm glad you chose a live performance to react to. These guys are absolutely amazing live. Lead vocalist Dave Gahan has really grown as an artist through the years & Martin Gore is a brilliant song writer. You should check out more from them. You'll be in for a treat for sure.

Depeche Mode are a super huge band from England there peak was probably between 87-97, still this band fills stadiums recently being in 2018. Personal Jesus and Enjoy The Silence and World In My Eyes are hits off there Violator album which made DM into a global mega super band . I recommend checking out Behind The Wheel from there 101 tour that concert was played at the Rose Bowl in California in front of 80,000 fans. In the early 90's DM change there look and sound to a more rockier with songs such as " I Feel You" from there Devotional album or " Barrel Of A Gun" from there Ultra album. DM is often referred to as the godfathers of the electronic synth sound

Depeche Mode were one of a conveyor belt of great synth pop bands to emerge from the UK in the early 80's.
As somebody who was around since when The Beatles emerged I think that the period 1980-86 was the high watermark for great popular music. I don't think we've ever reached those heights since.

This band is absolutely huge in Germany (especially in East Germany)! At least in the 80s and 90s. But also in all of Europe and also worldwide this brilliant band has had huge successes. Tens of millions of record sales, sold out stadiums. The guys from DM are so what of full (rich) there would have to Rammstein still long for "burn". That you do not know this group, is actually not to explain.

Dave Gahan has not copied anyone for those who have followed depeche mode for more than 40 years know that the frontman vocalist of the band, Dave Gahan, on stage has always been so full of energy to give his large audience and all his fans that over the decades it has grown. also watching videos from the early 80s and 90s was so energetic. his way of dancing is unique and in some interviews he has always said that the first times he sang in the early years he was in front of the microphone and from shyness or stage anxiety he remained still but then he saw that if he moved the anxiety would go away and there he started his own way of dancing to move and based on the song and emotions that he transmitted and that his audience transmitted to him and over time he became the frontmen who best knows how to combine large crowds with pure fun .. for me it’s the best band in the whole universe. watch the videos of the concert in Pasadena on June 18, 1988 in front of 70,000 spectators it was the Music For The Masses tour the 6th album after there was Violator which will become the album that consecrates Depeche Mode to worldwide success. Dave Gahan is Virgin Radio's new Rock Ambassador He said: I believe music can really change your mood. I love that music brings people together and makes us feel as one. I'm Dave Gahan and I sing in a band called Depeche Mode.

I am a self-described rocker....anything from metal, hard rock, thrash, goth what have you and I love Dee-pesh (Depeche) Mode. As a young Navy sailor in the 80s stationed in San Diego, every time my ship was in port I would check out who was in town. Van Halen, Dio, Rush, Yes, Crue, Pat Benatar, Heart...I would check them all out but then along came Depeche Mode. They just rocked different and boy did they ever put on a show! Lucky enough to check out their Music For The Masses Tour when they hit San Diego in 1987 at the Sports Arena. Good times.

There is an amazing story, behind Enjoy the Silence. Martin originally, wrote this song as a slow ballad, with a harmonium as instrumental back-up. But Alan Wilder, came up with the idea
to put a beat to it. Martin came up with the guitar riff. Then Alan and the producer Flood, took the song to the studio, and that's how you produce a simple, beautiful and durable synth pop song
Depeche mode was founed in 1980, by Vince Clark( later Yazoo, Erasure) Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher and Dave Gahan (Lead singer). First single was Dreaming of me, it was released Feb. 1981
Debut album, is Speak and Spell. Okt. 1981. Just can't get enough, is the biggest hit, form this record, and still well known. Vince Clark was the prime songwriter, on this record. He left after the first record. Martin Gore took over songwriting , and in came Alan Wilder, (officially member in 1983, on the album Construction time again). They are a very innovative band. Changing sound an style on every new record. Alan Wilder, sadly left the Band in 1995. He had a huge impact on Depeche mode's style and sound. Thier music, is mainely made with synthezisers, and samplers.
    Depeche mode's best music period 1981 - 1993.

Thank you very much for video 💋🖤🌹🖤 Each Depeche Mode album is a piece of the mosaic of the life of their lives but also of the lives of many of all they’re small tiles that have a path with descents and ascents but which always give you a message of energy their music their sound the lyrics are always a bit mysterious and Dave Gahan's baritone voice is really the rough diamond that gets inside you forever.

Dee--Pesh---Mode. No accent needed. These guys sold out the Rose Bowl back in the day. They also created what was "considered a riot situation in LA for a record signing in 1990". They thought a few hundred people were going to show up to the 150 people sized building. Almost 17000 to 20000 people showed up. INSANE!! RIP Fletch!! Cheers!

Depeche mode were the pioneers of electronic music of synth pop and over time associating a musical evolution with enormous success. they have been able to mix various genres while keeping together an unmistakable sound and this has led them to be one of the most important bands of the period between the 80s and 90s without ever losing their origin in the sound and in the lyrics. I see depeche mode as pure continuous transformation but with their original unmistakable point of identity. and Memento mori proves that all those sounds, those riffs, those lyrics is their common thread. the words of Dave Gahan
if you insert other videos also from the 80s and 90s they are incredibly current, yes I think they were a trailblazer for all the other bands that formed in those years in England. Depeche Mode the best of the universe. R.I.P. Fletch in our heart in our mind.

That was great guys! But if you have to deeper song with a bit more rock n' roll movements from DM I promise u r don't regret my two faves 'Walking In My Shoes' live Paris 2001. or 'In Your Room' @ Devotional 1993. Thx for this 🙏🏻Keep it up! 😉

Depeche= (depesh) they were to my knowledge the godfathers of house/techno music started in 81 I think.. Have been big ever since. One of the founding members recently passed away.

Mode n Simple Minds my fave two bands in 80s. Awesome, long before I got into grunge, then heavier Rock n Metal. Typical teen music journey I guess, thank God I didn't become a mainstream dead head stuck in pop! 🤣🤣🤣🙏👏❤️😎
