There is a hypnotic feeling to the banjo lines but so intricate at the same time. Very excited to see him with Shakti and John McGlaughlin 50th anniversary tour
Wow, this is up for three months now and only 510 likes? Some of the greatest musicians in the world, and amazing music! Thank you for bringing it to my desk!
Congrats! For my 40th, I flew with the family from home in Zürich to London to see the trio. Said in order to convey how fantastic they are. Of course they've won! Cheers, Julie Bryce
Excellent and uplifting performance by everyone, but Zakir Hussain really deserves a special mention, seemingly playing blind and detached, but so masterfully that words can't start to describe it.
Zakir is absolutely on fire in this piece. I love the sound of the short scale banjo with the tablas. The rolls and finger picking fit in so seamlessly and beautifully with mantras Zakir's playing. Of course, always love Zakir accompanied by/with Indian Flute. Masterful player (I thought he was someone else at first)... love the bass being bowed, would also love to hear some played with fingers-- especially with slaps ... Because I love this piece so much and I'm just, on my third listen, imagining the potential of these four masters. This piece is heavenly. Glorious. And I thank you for sharing! 🙏🏻💜 DLB
Saw them in Fayetteville, blew my mind. Keeps you captivated and locked in, so many interesting things happening within the song. Congrats on the Grammy nominee!
Hey been while since i posted to you, i love your wife and you performance videos. Question do you have any cigarbox banjos that you go out and perform with? Also do you build your own folkie style banjos or other instruments out of stuff you find in your travels that you eventually will perform with once in while?
Same problem as with the last collaboration. East does not meet west. When Zakir plays alone he plays tabla classical music. At only one moment does the bass follow him there. The rest is rather dull dotted western classical
@@4uRicki As you know it is not possible to leave urls on this site. Also, I gave directions on the piece Motion, to the eight pieces I recently recorded with Mohammed Nazir Lateef, in which I found keeping time with a tabla player who was keeping strictly to his tradition, fiendishly difficult. It was not always as successful, but it was an attempt to honour the tabla tradition. In the comments section on Motion I gave directions to the piece, not as a url, but which were nevertheless removed, so I have no idea how to pass them on to you.
Just awesome. I loved Indian music from when i first saw Ravi Shankar play at Woodstock in the movie in the early 80's. I allways thought many aspects of vertuoso guitar was based upon sitar. That rock was european folk melodies, african rythms and far east harmony. Allthough Bach helped.
They won the Grammy! Well deserved. Saw them live. An amazing experience!!
If you get a chance you absolutely MUST see these guys play together. You'll be blown away!

That percussion solo blew my mind! Wow. Just wow.
He is ZakirHussain, the maestro. Nothing less expected from him.
Congratulations to everyone. Was so moved by the music and changed my ringtone to this after half a decade.

I'm a proud Indian because I have these legends in my Country❤❤

Wonderful song from an exceptionally brilliant album! Thanks for posting, maestros.
Absolutely incredible work as always! Love the possibilities of our BG-Mini!
I love instrumental and metal music and its a master class
I'm seeing this show in Tucson this Saturday. Holy Cowboy!
I think this is playing right now in heaven
Excellent! Note Bela's use of a physically scaled down banjo. Great mix of instruments and performance.
Is that a parlor banjo? 19 frets?
Looks like a piccolo banjo
They called it a "banjini" at the show. :D
Zakir is a beast. 😍
accoustic beauty, if there ever was such a thing.
Wah Taj ❤

Experience d them in Santa Fe! Incredible energy!
disparate instruments that sound perfect together in the hands of incredible artists
That percussion is ridiculous!
The reason for being ridiculous ?
Beginning of Bharath's place in world stage! Claim our Century! Congratulations 🎉
Making a trip in November from Georgia to Colorado to see these guys! Why not?!?!
Beautiful blend, I am going to see them in November when they are in Portland
This deserve much more views ❤

Just got to see this performance live a couple nights ago. It was spellbinding!
Love the fun sized banjo
Music question. Are they playing in carnatic scales?! What key is the tabala tuned ?
Awesome. Thank you!
This song feels very very sad, to me. All i want is to be home, with a male of my own species (HUMAN), alone, in LOVE.
just sublime! 🙏
This feels so good.
So great!
Genius... some frome a deeper or greated consciousness and ability as usual
Congratulations. Zakhir represents all that is beautiful inbour soul.

Since you consider it dull, why don’t you make a recording and show them how it’s done. I’m sure they’d be interested in it.
