How can one man play the whole orchestra on the banjo? Only Bela Fleck! This is an amazing performance. Love it so much! Thank you so much for playing, Mr Bela Fleck....Bravo!
Incredible. Reminds me of an interview with Segovia where he described the guitar like having a whole symphony in one instrument. Bela Fleck is doing the same with a 5-string banjo!!
OMG! This recital was beyond magnificent; it was magical. Bela Fleck is a total master of the banjo and it is a privilege to watch and hear him master “Rhapsody In Blue.” Gershwin would be thrilled!
The moment I think of as the most sublime concert experience of my life was at a Bela Fleck concert in Louisville KY, shortly after Charles Schultz (of "Peanuts" fame) died. For the encore, Bela Fleck sat on a stool and played the ENTIRE piano music for "Linus and Lucy" written by Vince Guaraldi, at probably 3/4 tempo. It was a heartbreakingly marvelous tribute to the cartoonist who brought so much joy to so many of us.
came here from Rick Beato / Bela Fleck interview like if you did too
Yes, me too!
Me as well. He’s so impressive. I loved the interview. Seems like a brilliant, humble, thoughtful guy. Love this!
Yep best musician journalist ever
The Andres Segovia of the Banjo. Showing what an instrument is capable of.
This was mind-blowing live! Doing the work of an entire orchestra!

Bela is a Genius.......!
Stunning!
Saw Béla do this at Wolf trap, opening for Shakti. I'd just seen him a couple of months earlier touring As We Speak...
He's just an amazing musician.
That's nuts! Especially the polyphony under the melody!

Wonderful and amazing. Listening to this, one can never again think less of a banjo, never.

Sounds pretty cornball to me.

Saw him do this live in St. Catharines, Ontario - just simply amazing performance - thanks for posting this.
Only been to one banjo concert in my life: Bela Fleck - about 25 years ago. Amazing then as well, although he had a band at the time.
THE most amazing thing I've ever had the pure pleasure of listening to!
An add in the middle of the tune, god I hate google
That was a crime.
A national treasure!
So light and crystal clear, this is a sweet, transparent dream and full of power!
th-cam.com/video/BsawEU2ibWY/w-d-xo.html... Brian sang the whole orchestra
Amazing, amazing, amazing performance.
Bela is one of the greatest musicians I’ve ever seen live and I’ve seen many of the greats. Especially when he plays solo it’s just jaw dropping.
I can't stop grinning.
Love it!
Amazing
