You make the process sound a lot easier than it is. Especially when you diy without an ultrasonic part cleaner not to mention how much you have to move out of the way just to get that intake out. Many expletives and a few nuts in ridiculous places
Just had the hydrogine flush out done myself but without the manifold taken out and bathed so the clean wasnt as comprensive as yours but I did notice an increase in performance after it was done. It feels smoother to drive (more like a car, rather than a two tonne brick). Recently installed a provent catch can (thanks to your vid mate) and thought the flush out would be a good idea to get done as well. I also changed my oil and oil filter at the same time. (Again thanks to your vid). Feel like I'm driving a brand new ute despite it being a 2012 MN Triton with 186,000kms.
I noticed in the 5 different 4wd's that we cleaned, the car's that drove longer trips (highway driving) weren't as bad a cars that did shorter trips! I do a bit of both and definitely feels alot smoother on take off after the clean.
Tappets? have you got one on tappet adj? half way there,, req HP fuel line removal, injectors, std adjuster but measure at cam not valve..Scheduled 50k km..
great quick run thru, I was trying to guess what's in the centre, looks like 4 more intakes, 16 valve, so do you vac/clean the head intakes?? I might send the manifold to you depending on freight & costs..Cheers, John..
Do you think that even if you hadn't had this process done that the soot build up would of burnt out eventually with just the catch can and EGR delete kit?
Hi @Rebecca Ashby, Not really needed if you run a quality Catch can, After the manifold clean it definitely runs alot smoother on pick up, only get smoke now on hard excelleration, Cable alone won't stop the smoke.
Acceleration feels alot smoother with a bit more poke plus the smoke coming from exhaust under hard acceleration has now gone, haven't filled up again since the clean but I was getting on avg 600km a tank.
Yeah home or office, just give them a call to find out when he will be in your area. Back is still not 100% probably never will be now, will just have to make do. Thanks again mate 👍
Not at all, the catch can will not only remove the oil from entering the manifold but the intercooler aswell, as for the egr delete cable has nothing to do with a catch can, 2 separate systems, all though just fitting a catch can will reduce the build up in the manifold.

@@dropkick63 just check with your insurance company as some will not pay out if a egr delete cable is fitted where as a catch can there is no problems, If you do go down the path of a catch can get a quality one not a cheap knock off,

A bit of 2 stroke oil in the diesel is good for reducing carbon.

Not at all, if its completely blocked the only way to clean it is to remove the manifold,

local garage says "German catch cans are the go" finer filter, I've got eBay cheapy with stainless mesh??
So all this work including the catch can will be pointless if you don’t carry out an EGR Delete? (which is illegal in UK I believe)
