    interesting how to grip different longbows, but non modified bows with a tiller at 0 lose 15-20 % of power (de-synchronisation)
    i had a Fakco Legend and i started shooting 3 fingers under, but i was lazy (most people are lazy)
    once i found the good shoulder position with the mediterranean, with a perfect push-pull release, the shot was more silent, less handshock and the arrow faster !

      Absolutely! These bows are tillered for 3 under. If a bow is tillered for split, you will definitely see/feel the loss in accuracy and power. The beauty of this sport is there isn't one correct way to do things. Cheers!

    Great video! I’m just getting back into archery after a long absence. My wife is starting as well. I think I see a long bow in my future. Still learning about different bows though.

      I truly feel a longbow should be in everyone's arsenal. If you can shoot a longbow, you can shoot anything :)

    I do the same full grip on my bows but slight variations on the Longbow straight handle grip, with flat back locator/flat back notched this is same as a flat grip but using the pocket, then a not so flat back locator if bigger is same as notched grip but a bit of fitting grip into both the front and back grove, then the dished or the round grips end up as close to the notched style. Second is the rounded grip as some more flat style bows, the pre ASL style of grip on bows with third a dished grip if the bow handle/grip is not in a wide but not deep style or deep skinny Howard Hill style. The reason for using the locator/notch grip as best and not really liking the flat grip being I have a small hand in gloves Kids/boys XL, Adult XS, Women's Small and most flat grips are made in one of two styles, first is a wide but short style then the other is in a skinny but deep "Howard Hill" style. Recurves I just try to use a full grip as close as possible to the way I use a notched grip, this is why the Bear Grizzly style of grip or the Bear Kodiak grips of the 60 inch long models that have grip closer to that of a more to a contoured Left or right hand notch grip or deep notch grip depending on the style, The 54 inch bow I got off Amazon a higher end Chinese bow is a Bear Super Grizzly clone only flaw is the bow has a brace height that is 3/4 to 5/8 of a Grizzly.
    I love the grip I use is same like yours for all bows, getting that webbing and that correct palm in the hand. Only time I might not use this grip on non compound bows, including lever is with modern target recurve bows and longbows with accessories is using a different grip and using a modified compound style of wrist strap for the bow, as I hate finger slings. I also do not grip most traditional bows tight rather I use a looser but not floppy full grip almost to that of gripping a bait casting or flyfish fishing pole and I somehow just do that as a reflex instinct thing in using a loose the grip to the bow.

    Just wanted to say that using this grip has tamed a Howard Hill Big Five I own, nicknamed it 'The Shocker'. Now it's just a pleasant hum. Might have to rename it 'The Hummer'.

    Great vid! One question though, center cut or not center cut, which do you prefer and why? Going to order my first ASL and still can't decide the sepcs.

      All in the eye of the beholder. If you want nostalgia, go outside of center. Performance, go cut to center

    Another great video! I have yet to get one of these in my hands but I hope to before next hunting season. What is your favorite St. Patrick bow? I'm leaning towards a reverse handle.

      The Northern is a great choice. As far as my favorites, they all are haha. But as of what I'm currently shooting the most, it's the Yukon or Pacific Styk

    How does the American stik rank in your collection

    • @stykmanarchery9526
      @stykmanarchery9526  ปีที่แล้ว

      The American styk is still a solid bow! As a matter of fact I shot it for a little bit right after this video. But as far as what fits my shooting style and what I feel the deadliest with at this given moment the Yukon.
