@@renaharman4962 it's because trump has so much wrong with him it's impossible to even talk about Kamala in good faith with an interlocuter who refuses to admit and address the bad things about Trump.

True...yet only to a certain extent in my mind. Or instead let's forget my mind altogether it's in this knucklehead, my skull it's cracked...for fucks sake. Don't I sound crazzzyyy??? & instead talk about theirs. & by theirs I mean the interviewer & interviewees, I Trump & Vance & Kamala & Walz, I mean both parties & federal party commissions (so corrupted), I mean the entire electorate (Independents NOT excluded...), I mean all third party candidates (or however many there actually are...all fucked up...), I mean all three main branches of our gov't, I mean like everybody, corporations,...everybody!!!!!! Ben & also Barri defeated Sam about practically all of this mentioned above without havin to really even try. Cuz of Sam's one main losin strategy he lost immediately... >His fear & hatred for mainly one grotesque man, has sadly blinded him from his own hypocricy & the hypocrisy of the party he most aligns. & this could've just as easy happened instead to Ben. He's just as aligned to the other. Sam's turn, that's all. Honestly, this could happen to any one of us. Most of us are prone to worse than the blindness of actual blind people...they could teach us alot about we use our eyes & actually look the fuck out for one another! We've gotta get honest about ourselves. Not to condemn, but to call to account.
I like the content she shows but I think she’s terrible at moderating and interviewing. The pretentious and awkward laughs and interjections she has show a clear bias with whoever she’s interviewing.
Shapiro and Harris have consistently made the best and most reasonable cases for and against Trump in recent years. Both, here, make me realize that Kamala is simply a generic placeholder for people who dislike the former president.
A bit I agree, but that's like comparing an average granny smith apple with turd for a snack. If Kamala just continued Biden's policies it would end up with a top ten precidency of all time as Biden was the best since probably Roosevelt when it comes to politics, economy and not all the ridiculous entertainment bullshit that takes the spotlight.
@@hartyewh1Except he wasn’t a turd as president, at least up to the point of the Covid outbreak …. I didn’t vote for the guy, but the country was actually doing well, up till that point.
Biden will go down as the worse president ever. Economy? Only rich people think the economy is good because it does not affect them. The fact that he and kamala think that the American people don't know why they flooded this country with illegals but the fact that they are taking Americans tax money and placing them in hotels and then housing them and the millions of dollars they give them monthly is nit acceptable and is down right discussing and disgraceful we have homeless men and women vets who fought for this country and they ignore them and place murderers and rapist in homes. This is probably the best, most articulate, most polite and thought-provoking discussion about politics that I’ve ever watched between someone with strong liberal values (Sam Harris) and someone with strong conservative values (Ben Shapiro). The host seems like she is someone that’s probably representative of an independent voter who has mixed values. Regardless of whose ideas resonate the most with you, I think this is a great example of how people that strongly disagree with each other’s political perspective should be engaging with each other. If people talked to each other about complex political topics with this amount of respect and politeness, I think the country would objectively be a better place.
I agree, and it’s all the more significant that Trump is clearly the better option for the country. Harris presents perhaps the most coherent and concise argument against Trump and for herself, yet it still falls flat against the facts supporting Trump. Ben doesn’t even need to go after Kamala here to make his point, although, at times, I personally wanted him to call out Kamala’sclear faults just as Harris tries to do with Trump. Overall Ben wins handily judges scores are 5-4 5-2 5-3 5-1. p.s. I am all 4 judges.
I think it is a dramatic reach to say that Shapiro has strong conservative views. He has completely sold out to the populist magas. These are worthless, garbage human beings, and do not have an ounce of traditional conservatism in their rhetoric or ideology.

Only in the first 30 minutes and it actually worked in Ben’s favor! Later on Ben speaks equally. Read what people say, Ben convinced more people. She did her job, each person was allowed to answer the other
Also the fact she even invited these guests and validates people’s fears - I’m team Trump but look I know so many people who are terrified of him and don’t know how to vote. It’s fair that people are on the line. And now hopefully thanks to Sam being a bit ridiculous and Ben being very convincing, more people will vote Trump. And either way that we can understand the other side better and have less division and more unity

With all the stress of the election, watching a normal respectful debate with fair moderation, no interruptions, and respect across all parties gave me such a sense of calm. At least we know there are some intellects on both ends. Both made very valid and persuasive arguments.
No. This is not a debate if one side is a sniveling disingenuous bad faith actor like Sam. An ideologically captured person does not make a great debate, it is better to just explore his issues in a conversation the way KK and FF did. A disarming conversation where people can see how far into a rabbit hole a supposed intellectual can dig himself into. What a waste of time
But it’s not even an actual debate over Kamala v Trump. It’s a discussion where one side is a hardline Trump supporter who is willing to excuse anything Trump does and the other side where a guy recognizes all of the insane and dangerous stuff from Trump and is picking Kamala simply because she isn’t Trump. Like what the fuck are people talking about? Sam did what he always does, provided a measured approach to laying out all of the moral, psychological, and political reasons why Trump is clearly not someone we want in office. Ben Shapiro just listed out issues he has with Kamala and argued that Trump isn’t as bad as his issues with Kamala. This moved the dial for absolutely nobody because one side can say, “Ben Shapiro is like any other Trump supporting MAGA figure, excuses any and everything Trump does that is fucked up”. And the other side can say, “Sam Harris just showed his TDS for 2 hours”. The comments here and on Sam and Ben’s respective subreddits only further prove this.

At 1.25x, Sam Harris is possibly the most fluent American speaker in the world today. Can't think of too many more who can lean on such an extensive vocabulary to illustrate his points so vividly. Add to that his comical epithets of Trump and you get something close to absolute mastery

@@mj3673Ben is asking the potential voters to base it on past behaviour and results. Zero wars under Trump. We can take a few mean tweets if the trade off is for no unnecessary deaths in wars and cost of living crisis.
Didn’t vote for him in 2016 and 2020 and now seeing what I have for the last 4 years, I like Ben compel people to vote for Trump
@@rra6033 The claim that the problem with Trump is "mean tweets" is such a disgusting degree of dishonesty.
I’m very much on Sam’s side but Ben gave the best argument I’ve heard for Trump probably ever. I still think he’s being used by Trump and he just doesn’t realize it yet but still this was a solid debate.
@ tell that to the Gazans, Israelis, Ukrainians, Russians and the 13 Americans that have even died under and because of the Biden / Harris failed diplomacy. That’s the big disgrace. We want Trump back. We are fed up of red and blue pill politicians vying for war
One of the most interesting yet equally unhelpful conversations I’ve listened to
44:49 what Sam does not say in this reply is most revealing. The fact that who chooses not to disagree with Clinton about the deplorables. To me I sense Sam does see them as deplorable.
@@greenbook67 I was thinking the same, he does his best here to carefully not condemn her for the comment because he CLEARLY agrees with her.
He does
He's a clown. J6 was not a peaceful transfer of power, but 2017 was? Rioters set DC aflame when Trump was inaugurated and Obama weaponized the DOJ, opened an investigation that not only hampered the transition, but went on for the majority of Trump's presidency. He's a partisan hack.
That’s the issue with liberal thinking. They do view the otherside as less morally virtuous then themselves..
That’s a zinger … I can’t read Sam’s mind.
WOW This is not a discussion I expected to see.
Remember when ben said Jan 6th was the worst thing to happen to America since 9/11? Then he had to start glazing trump again to appease his viewerbase. His facts care about his viewer's feelings.
Probably realised that was an absolutely ridiculous take, and in fact we saw far far worse with the 8 month insurrection orchestrated by the Democrats the previous year
@@RoadHater he must have forgotten the 8 months of death and destruction enabled and encouraged by the Democrats known as the “summer of love”. January the 6th was an obfuscation from that.
I think you meant to say October 7 was 1000 times worse than Jan 6 and I agree with you.
This debate was moderated phenomenally. Well done Bari Weiss!
Excellent discussion between two great minds. I liked listening to Sam discuss his ideas, but factually, I agree much more with Ben.
Thank you Bari, great questions and pretty neutral. Good people hail from the ‘Burgh. Great platform.
I used to like listening to Sam even though I disagreed with him on most issues. He has devolved into a leftist ideologue with near zero intellectual honesty about many obvious problems on the left.
@ I heard him agree to many issues the Dems have and that he is not happy about it, but he hates Trump. Can’t really name issues or policies, just hates Trump. Can’t quite(like Maher) make the jump because it’s against his ego. Says he loves America. Then drop the ego like so many democrats have and save the country from socialism and censorship.
It’s pretty straight forward. If your argument for her involves the words black or woman, you are intellectually challenged & don’t understand anything farther than you can throw a rock. This is global shit going down friends. The new EU DEI law will directly affect this nation if Kamaltoe wins. Only Trump has the balls and the ego to fight the EU. What’s she going to do- cackle?
I wish we could be voting for Ben with Sam as VP :)
Great minds? Sam Harris is full of shit. He ignores or marginalizes anything that counters his narrative. Great minds do not do this. They make a strong and valid case. 1:12:10
