Xavier and the Firebirds win Kellenberg's first Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association JV Championship honors for the first time in 10 years and beat St. Anthony's at their house by the score of 5 - 2.
Frank Roder, the Firebirds Ace, got the start on the bump and kept the Friars lineup off balance. He pitched a complete game and had
6 K's, gave up just 2 hits and did not give up any walks!
Kyle Sharkey came thru in a huge way for the Firebirds bringing in 3 of the Firebirds 5 runs. Both Xavier and Joe Braskey had 1 RBI each.

contributed in some way throughout the season to bring back the Championship trophy back to Kellenberg. I believe the Firebirds JV and Varsity teams will have continued success for the next 3 years. There is a lot of talented prospects and potential MLB draft worthy players on the come up for the Firebirds.
A special thank you goes out to Head Coach Patrick Miles, Asst. Coach Thomas Buckley and James Walsh for guiding the boys this season to a 14 - 4 record. Their dedication to teaching the game to the boys and keeping them motivated has paid off with a CHAMPIONSHIP and bragging rights until next season.
