This is actually an opportunity for J&M. If it’s never been done in the field before this will be a chance to write a repair plan for this issue and it also gives them a manufacturing opportunity to increase reliability. Yes it’s inconvenient at the time but the good that can come from it may prevent it from happening again on future carts.

There’s kids all over this area running everything. I haul silage, corn and sugar beets and there’s a 12 year old running a dozer in the silage pile and giving orders to grown men. It’s the way it is in these parts. I’m not from here, only come for 3 months a year and was shocked the first time I saw a kid in a big machine. They learn young and take over the operation as they grow. Zack is still a young man but he probably has 30 years experience under his belt.

Amazing and a bit lucky that the bar bent and the wood cracked instead of something else crucial and expensive on the cart breaking. I think part of the problem is that you didn't curse loudly enough or long enough. In my experience cursing always seemed to help. It's tough to know when to give up on the pulling, pushing and hammering and get the wrenches out, but I think that removing the gearbox and pulling the flighting would have been faster in the end. At least it would have given you room to get a torch or welder on the connection.

I remember my Grandfather told me years back that soybeans were the hardest grain to move with augers!

The way you explained about the welded augers, was just like Watch Wes Work😂

That Auger is... something else. Some heat might have helped break it free but with the board in there it'd be a pita to tackle. Keeping you in our thoughts. Hope you feel better soon buddy. Been planting garlic and processing peppers here, I am pretty tore up myself.
I am not ready for Winter. 😐

Well at least you tried fixing the problem yourself and I give you credit for doing that to. I hope you get it fixed tomorrow morning sometime. I love watching your videos to.

Thank you once again for sharing your life with us. It doesn't matter what we do for work, stuff just happens and it's frustrating. I blame gremlins when it happens to me. Thanks again. J.Au-en
