if after this video the RZ button stopped working for you, then this is due to the fact that the author of the video incorrectly fixed the cable. 6:00
For everything to be correct, you need to install the dark side to the top.

@@SpacefightGO Yeah, I'm here) in the video, the cable responsible for the RZ button is inserted into the connector, so you can see its golden side. You need to turn the cable over so that you can see its black side when inserted. I hope I explained ok.

your comment saved me money 😂 I bought the gameboy 1989 edition from extremeRate, it arrived this morning, so I did exactly as in the video and the zr button it stopped working, I was desperate thinking, I ruined the flat cable, I was almost buying another one, when I saw your comment ❤
I put the gold connectors down like you said and it worked again 😂 Thank you very much pal.

I just bought and installed two switch shell kits - Clear with D-Pad, and Sakura Pink without D-Pad and it's absolutely worth every penny. Your products are high quality, although I personally re-used the stock buttons on the switch I modded with the clear shells because I don't like the aesthetic of the clear buttons.
The feel of the shells is slightly different than the feel of the stock components, but in a good way. The Sakura Pink is surprisingly soft, but durable, and feels really nice to hold. You read some horror stories on the Amazon comments for other shell mods from different companies, but I'm happy to say that everything from ExtremeRate fit perfectly the first time, no sanding needed.
Your videos made the teardown and rebuilding processes a relative breeze. This was a fun project that I'd gladly do again. Thank you guys!

I always hoped that Nintendo would put out some black joy cons. Especially with a D-pad. These were super easy to install, since the screws provided were better quality than the basstop ones. The only trouble I had was the ribbon connector on the right trigger. Getting that back in was a pain. I also really liked the screwdriver that comes with the kit that I bought. It works well and was the right size for the job.

Broke my ZL button trying to get the trigger in place. Finally managed to fix it, but I feel that was only due to extreme luck and I am a bit worried if the fix will last. I feel there should have been a warning in the video here. Also would have been nice if the video had made a note of when a long or short screw where being used.

I have been researching your product for the past week and have also been reviewing the good reviews you have on Amazon. You have a good reputation, so it would be good to advertise yourself by reaching out to other TH-camrs.
I follow Spawnwave. He is a video game TH-camr who also featured mods for the Switch such as the Switch dock mod. Since your quality looks to be top notch, I think it would be good for your business to reach out to Spawnwave so he can do a modding video and review it.
He has a huge following now (200k), so him advertising your product could help other Switch owners like me to get their hands on the fabled D-pad Joy Con they've been longing for ever since the Switch came out.

Hey, it’s me, the Wii U shell idea guy again, what if you do a The Legend of Zelda edition joycon shell replacement kits, it fits with the theme next month on February 21, 2021, due to it being the 35th anniversary of the series. And it would look sick with the RBG light kit that you sell for the joycons, it could be sheika slate or have the trig or effects on one and the champion symbols on the other, or just some basic Zelda style colors, Green and Brown, or you could do a full shell swap kit for the Switch Lite. Just an idea I had, keep up the cool stuff, 🤟

Wouldn't it have been easier if you had taken the whole thing out instead of separating the middle plastic piece? Cause when I did mine, i couldn't unscrew the circuit piece on the middle piece to put it on the new piece, plus the ribbon cable is a pain in the ass, I forgot my joycons were so messed up from analog stick drifting and I glued a cap to it and the backing of my joycons were glued, that doing this with my old joycons would be a pain.
I would have to buy new joycons to do this.
But I did do one of them and it was easy except for one issue, some of it was so old from problems that it broke.
Don't do this with very old, worn out joycons cause they will break easily but I think everyone knows launch joycons were pretty bad.

So I have checked your website extremerate.com and I found the prices to be much cheaper than your amazon store. When I checked the D-Pad Joy Cons, the product disclaimer reads:
Package includes: as shown in picture 4 in 1 set Joy Con Shells (*without any buttons included*)
Does that mean that _without any buttons included_ extends to no D-Pad button as well? I tried getting clarification by emailing your website, but I got no response.
If there's no D-Pad button included, then doesn't that defeat the purpose of purchasing the shells off your website in the first place?

    • @ThePerro
      @ThePerro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I don't know if you ever got an answer to this question but it seems as though they in fact don't come with the separate buttons (dpad as well). They however do sell the buttons separately on their site. I figure they expect you to buy both the shell and the button sets, which add up to be roughly the price of what you'd see on Amazon.

I bought a pair of SNES Joyon Shells with the Dpad and my left joy con does not seal as nice as my original joy cons. In fact when I close them all the way with the screws I have a weird lump on the back part on. I suspect its could be the battery, but I also suspect it could be the tiny cross on the back of the dpad form the other side of the controller.
Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so any suggestions on what should I do?

The problem remains the same, the microswitches fixed on the printed circuit board are of poor quality. It is not worth the flexibility of the rubber membranes, without microswitch which makes noise, and which wears out very quickly (throttle to throw away once they are worn?). If in addition we add a cross so that we press strongly on 2 directions at the same time can wear them out even faster. You have to do something big N, it's a shame after having obliged us on competing brands to respect your patent for the cross that you invented... Poor children, your thing is not at all ergonomic, they will end up with osteoarthritis. When it comes to kirby pay systems online, it's not clear either, it has nothing to do with this kind of games that have already invaded smartphones, what's the point of dealing with a game publisher that sells consoles at the same time, who can't guarantee that we don't take advantage of young people with this business?
