Pray to escape? More like pray that he will give us the strength to persevere. Lol Jesus didn’t get to escape, you think we will? 11 of the 12 apostles were martyred. Persecution isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. Following Christ means suffering on Earth, looking forward to the eternal kingdom. Our short lives are nothing in eternity. 100 years from now Lord willing we will look back on all this and laugh about our uncertainty and fear, full of joy for what is ahead.

Whatever the case; trust in God whatever happens and pray for His strength, not that we may escape trials. Or do, whatever. I’m not that invested. I am walking STRAIGHT THROUGH them with faith in the Lord. Matthew 5:10-12: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake… Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.” Is it not better to pray for endurance; to build your faith on rock and possibly receive His deliverance as He wills, than to pray for escape, and be caught faithless and asking the Lord “Why me?” when tribulation comes? I would much rather prepare myself to face the firing line for Christ and be pleasantly surprised to die of old age instead, or prepared in faith for what has come.

We got out of the suburbs and onto large acreage. we're pretty much self-sufficient...but we still share the Gospel. We're not running away and hiding, we just greatly reduced our need to interact with government and utilities companies, etc as much as possible. A self-sufficient person is much more difficult to manipulate. Govt: "Here, take the mark of the beast, so you can buy and sell" Us: "No thanks - we do not need it - we're self-sufficient" Proverbs 12:11 - _He who tills the land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding._ .

Mark resigned from the last church he pastored because he was accused of being arrogant and hostile with his staff. He admitted it in the deposition to the Church board, but said it was necessary for him to be that way to run the church effectively. I really don't know if Mark has had the revelation of grace. He still seems to hold his own opinions in too high of regard.
Celina Texas Homestead life is hard work … we are s very blessed went from not knowing my neighbors to not driving and working as a handyman in my neighborhood.. I used to wake up everyday at 4am to get to work by 6:30 traffic the whole way.. California to Texas 2.75 years later was a great move it worked for us we have cattle, 60 chickens, tractor, Utv, big barn, garden growing food, pond, and much more self sustaining in very rewarding

I heard of a study to prove that home schooling was inferior to government ran schools with the intent to ban home schooling. The results were the opposite of what they were expecting. So, crickets. 😂
My Mom and Dad home schooled 7 kids, they did raise us to love Jesus and worked their butts off helping others. I assure you, Mark's comments don't offend or hurt me or my family in the slightest. We are happy he is teaching others about Jesus.

My first responsibility is to protect and nurture my immediate domain as father/home/family. Try to secure a safe environment for my family to grow and thrive which I'm afraid is definately rural and outside "Sodom and Gomorrah". Create your castle to secure physical, emotional and spiritual safety for your family and then you can venture out to missionary outreach in urban areas of need where the people are to serve and witness. Military concept of an HQ vs. a FOB. If you don't believe in a pre-tribulation rapture as I, then its not really gonna be very easy to carry out the great commission if you and your family are starving, cold and defenseless. God turns up the "heat" with apocalyptic events (social, political and natural disasters) and tribulation to get everyone's attention that the day of judgement is drawing near and its time to choose a side. If you as a Christian are going to effectively operate in a tribulation environment, they better hope and pray for the decrement to gather the needed physical resources and survival skills to operate (minister, care and witness) to a society that will likely be in chaos and collapse. I can't stand it when Christians shrug off Prepping because "God will provide", implying that you, as a Christian Prepper must be lacking in faith. I view it as God has granted me the decrement to see what is coming and his plan for "providing" involves my actively heeding his voice and preparing for adversity so I can minister/care for other Christians and support continuing promoting the kingdom of God till the end.
It's a similar concept to praying that God will grant you the 1st division lottery win, but you never go and buy the ticket. Saying "God will provide" but making no effort at your end, is a fools errand.

Well you must be reading a different Bible than me, 1 Thess 4 v 16-17 for example says ‘For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.’ A proper study, using exergesis and hermeneutical and other tools reveals this in in fact the correct interpretation.

Persecution and the wrath of God are two different things. We will all suffer persecution if we are truly walking by faith, in truth and sharing the Gospel. We will not suffer the wrath of God. We are not appointed to wrath but to escape God’s coming wrath because He will catch us away and we are to be working the fields which are ripe for the harvest until He comes.
Absolutely correct. Too many pre-Trib folks confuse the devil's and the world's wrath with God's Wrath, which Christians are not subject to. That said, many Christians will die during the Tribulation. That is clear from several places in Revelation and other prophecies. There is no conclusive evidence for pre-Trib rapture, unless one's personal death can be termed a 'rapture'. When my mother died, I'm certain she went to Heaven. She didn't know it was her time. Neither did I. As Jesus said, watch, for you don't know the moment your Lord is coming for you (paraphrased).
you are miss understanding this verse... you arent raptured you are gathered to the clouds to take back the HOLY land.... He isnt saying you will be exempt from all this... other wise when he told the disciples they will go through the tribulation that would be a lie. so to connect all the dots you have to understand that its after the tribulation that happens. When it refers to the harvest and the wheat that was destroyed by the enemy. He was talking about the NEW heaven and NEW earth... on a different world.

@@N-Gine Trib is the first 3.5 years. Last 3.5 is the wrath. Those verses in Matt. match up with the sixth seal chapter 6 verse 12 which is mid way, around the same time the man of sin is revealed after that the rapture. That's what I've learned to believe.

Mark Driscoll’s sermon reminds me of Romans 14! Especially verse 10! ‘You then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgement seat.’ Then read verses on through to the end of the chapter. This kind of message kind of makes me feel a little sick. I truly believe Mark is a brother in Christ but is practicing religion (which divides) instead of trying to be in unity with his Christian brothers and sisters.

A lot of people started putting things aside and homesteading after COVID came through. If a thing, COVID exposed how many people weren't prepared and it was horrifying. There's nothing wrong with being prepared and sharing from abundance. And when the rapture happens, your stockpile blesses those left behind. Not your finest moment Mark.

I am glad to see Pastor Mark post this. When I read the bible, I felt it was another "hard saying" that we are to seek out the dark places. I would love to live an easy life in a gated community... But that's not what Jesus told us to do. "As the world’s light, we are responsible to shed illumination wherever there is darkness, offering hope and comfort to those in need."

@@michaelmappin4425 the entire segment was about the group of Christians who are reclusive and disconnected from society and hide away while they await the rapture, and that’s not a good behavior according to Jesus. Our goal should be outreach and community, not reclusiveness, hiding away in a bunker.
There are plenty of suburban neighbors who still need Jesus. As long as we wear our beliefs on the outside, and we are prepared to explain and defend our beliefs, good things can happen.
To be honest I do SOME of these things. I have a little ammo, food, and I WOULD homeschool if I had kids and was young. But I am active in my church, and my community. I am not hiding.

So, let me get this straight. If you perceive that things are about to go sideways and prepare for that; if you homeschool your kids; if you live a rural, homesteading, or suburban lifestyle instead of an urban one; and if you long for Jesus to return soon, you need to get a grip and repent because you are exactly like the Essenes. Apparently, we should all live in the city, avoid putting anything by for a rainy day, send our kids to government schools so they get all the secular teaching possible, and stop wishing for Jesus's return, because it's not like the Bible teaches us to look for the blessed hope or anything. Wow. Not what I expected to hear from a pastor.
I don't like this message either. I'm prepping too as much as is possible from an apartment, got some guns and ammo, prepping spiritually more, but also I have physical preparation too. And the bible shows these stories for a reason. God has reasons and seasons for us all.

Paul spells it out for us. 2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, ...by our gathering together unto Him.... 2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. ...day of Christ... 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; ...that day (when we are gathered to Jesus/day of Christ/rapture)... will not arrive until the apostasy happens and the man of sin be revealed. @@dreb222 Which is strange. Jesus tells us to watch for Him. And blessed is the servant He catches eagerly waiting for Him. Christians not giving a hoot about the rapture will still be saved and raptured, but they will not receive the same reward the other believer will receive that was eagerly waiting and expectant. Obviously, we should still live our lives. Works, pay the bills, take care of family, help others, spread the Gospel, etc. But, there's NOTHING wrong with believers expecting and eagerly waiting for His appearing.

The message is a simple one, for those who recluse away from the world and hide away in their bunkers, caves, and seclude themselves instead of being a member of the community and spreading the word of god. That’s it. It’s that simple. There’s nothing wrong with having a watchful eye, but removing ourselves from the world removes the morality, the very salt and light that slows the rot of this world. The Essenes (which means healer because they were noted to live 100+ years) were not absent society. John the Baptist was an Essene, along with his dad Zachariah who was murdered according to Church fathers. In the scripture we see them sometimes referred to as scribes. They were kicked out of society violently by the Sadducees. Rome had to intervene, which is why Rome is in Judea, to quell war of these factions. Due their devotion to the Lord, we are privileged with their writings the Dead Sea Scrolls, which is a trove of biblical evidence and prophesy. Check out scroll 11Q13, where they predict the advent of the Messiah in 32 AD. When the Apostle Paul goes to “Damascus”, it’s not Syria but the Essene community called themselves the New Damascus. These are not absent society but are more akin to American Pilgrims, fleeing persecution for the sake of their faith. They were the early followers of John the Baptist and Jesus.

The end times are His will, so people are listening to the Holy Spirit and getting out, BECAUSE what God has said will happen, WILL HAPPEN. No protest will change it, no movement will change it. The end is the end. And BLESS those people who are attentively listening to the Holy Spirit speaking in their lives. It’s inevitable. There’s nothing that has to happen for it to occur, which could be any day, any moment. Jesus says Himself in Rev 3 we are kept from the hour of trial that is to come upon the whole earth, and the church has already suffered over and over the past 2000 years, so it wouldn’t make since for us to go through the tribulation, to then all of a sudden turn around to return with Him at the 2nd coming, Which is after, the glorious appearing, the blessed hope, the rapture of the church is much closer than you want to believe. 1 Thess where it says (caught up) is harpazo in the Greek, raptures in Latin which means to be snatched away, or taken by force, which then translates to rapture.

In Revelation 3 Jesus was speaking to the Church at Philadelphia. The Church at Philadelphia no longer technically exists. What was left of its descendants were driven out of Asia Minor in 1922, when the Greeks were expulsed from the entire Anatolian peninsula where they lived since NT times. Some churches believe that the seven churches were seven 'church eras', but they weren't. They were actual churches existent in that day. I know that Rev 3 is used to support the pre-Trib rapture, but it doesn't.

The word "harpazo" is in the Bible, which is Greek for "to be caught up." The Latin is "rapturo" which is where we get our word "rapture" from in this context, so ....... yes. 1 Thess. 4:17 among other places. Andy Woods is a great teacher on this topic.

Yes. The rapture is a generalized overview. More specifically this is about the many Christians awaiting the rapture and their behaviors, and disconnect from the world while they wait to be raptured.
We are not appointed to wrath. Gods wrath that is poured out from heaven. What groom do you know of will punish His bride and then fetch her? Research the difference between persecution that comes from God’s enemies on believers and God’s wrath that is poured out on unrepentant unbelievers. Do that study. See Revelation

We’re not getting raptured pre-trib. I believe we may be taken up before the breaking of the seals and the devastating bowls of wrath, but definitely not before. Whatever the case; yeah Gods pure final-stage Armageddon is not intended for repentant Christians. As His child, I don’t expect to break out with sores and boils because; why would He? I’m spiritually His child, he’s not coming to punish US.
One could easily ask any of the martyrs today what comfort there is dealing with persecution. Suffering seems to go hand in hand for Christians living in a fallen world. Revelation 9 shows that Christians are preserved from God's wrath, by their being sealed. So it shows that Christians do not face God's Wrath. But they will face severe persecution during the End times. Revelation 6 shows that millions of Christians will be martyred during the End times (the fifth seal), when antichrist demands worship. Second Thessalonians makes it clear that the gathering together of the saints with Christ -- at his return -- won't take place until after the great apostasy takes place, and after the antichrist is revealed, the son of perdition, who presents himself in the temple of God, claiming to be God. Jesus mentioned that many Christians would be turned in by family and friends, even to death, during the End Times. The fact is, there is no pre-Trib rapture. The evidence in the Bible does not support it. Now, we all want to escape persecution, pain and suffering. I know I do. I'm certain that everyone one in these comment threads does. And that is indeed something to pray for. But at the same time, there is no conclusive evidence that there is a pre-Trib rapture, because Jesus is not returning twice. He's only returning once -- 'the second time' (Heb. 9:28)
Very interesting perspective. As for the 21st century Preppers and Homesteaders, when total chaos occurs after election theft 2024 succeedss at putting Jezebel 2.0 into the WH, those who put all the time and resources into prepping are going to be overwhelmed and over taken by the hoards of people from cities and towns. I honestly don't think that surving long term is viable unless one is literally 30 miles + from the nearest road capable of allowing auto traffic. If these preppers are only a few miles from even a small town , I don't see much chance for little long term survival.

No, on the contrary. This is a clip from a longer sermon, he is giving pros and cons to this mindset. If you listen to him regularly you will find that he is actually a staunch pro-life conservative, and finds many benefits in a homesteading lifestyle. In the clip he is essentially telling the congregation that you shouldn’t shelter yourself from society like the essenes, because there are lost souls that need to be reached, and as Christians it is our responsibility to proclaim the gospel to non-believers. He is not against homesteading or homeschooling.

The actual scholars that believe the pre-trib rapture is plain from scripture though, are head and shoulders above you in terms of exegesis and contextual consistency in interpretation. But it's still true that Christ is only returning once, and for the pre-Trib rapture theory to be true, he'd be returning twice, and nowhere in the Bible does it say he's returning twice.
Clearly Mark knows nothing about the Essenes…. The Essenes were the ones who were the most committed to reading the understanding the word of the lord, celestial signs, and biblical prophecy. They were the elite school of the prophets.. prophets like Jonah were trained by them.. he was a bit of a big deal in his day. The Essenes had also figured out when the Messiah was suppose to come and believed in him before Jesus even arrived. They knew the scriptures inside and out. They also had it figured out our 2000 years of the age of grace and the Messiah’s soon second coming based on the celestial patterns. It is also thanks to the Essenes we have the Dead Sea scrolls that confirmed the authenticity of our bibles, the book of Enoch and the Book of the Giants. So considering Mark barely understands the book of Revelation, has had his books ghost written by other authors (except the ones that bombed), and has himself homeschooled his kids, I wouldn’t be taking historical lessons on the Essenes from Mark, as the Essenes clearly had more wisdom, experience, and understanding than he does. And as for those who are homesteading, homeschooling, prepping or saying the rapture is coming soon, perhaps there are some very legitimate reasons for feeling or believing this way. I could easily send you about 200 hours of Bible study and content on behalf of my position on such matters.
We are told in the Bible to pray to escape what is coming on the Earth! We are to look and pray for the hastening of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ we are all supposed to occupy while we wait and share the gospel.

Pray to escape? More like pray that he will give us the strength to persevere. Lol Jesus didn’t get to escape, you think we will? 11 of the 12 apostles were martyred. Persecution isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. Following Christ means suffering on Earth, looking forward to the eternal kingdom.
Our short lives are nothing in eternity. 100 years from now Lord willing we will look back on all this and laugh about our uncertainty and fear, full of joy for what is ahead.

I would much rather prepare myself to face the firing line for Christ and be pleasantly surprised to die of old age instead, or prepared in faith for what has come.

We got out of the suburbs and onto large acreage. we're pretty much self-sufficient...but we still share the Gospel. We're not running away and hiding, we just greatly reduced our need to interact with government and utilities companies, etc as much as possible.
A self-sufficient person is much more difficult to manipulate.

Mark resigned from the last church he pastored because he was accused of being arrogant and hostile with his staff. He admitted it in the deposition to the Church board, but said it was necessary for him to be that way to run the church effectively.

Celina Texas Homestead life is hard work … we are s very blessed went from not knowing my neighbors to not driving and working as a handyman in my neighborhood.. I used to wake up everyday at 4am to get to work by 6:30 traffic the whole way.. California to Texas 2.75 years later was a great move it worked for us we have cattle, 60 chickens, tractor, Utv, big barn, garden growing food, pond, and much more self sustaining in very rewarding

My first responsibility is to protect and nurture my immediate domain as father/home/family. Try to secure a safe environment for my family to grow and thrive which I'm afraid is definately rural and outside "Sodom and Gomorrah". Create your castle to secure physical, emotional and spiritual safety for your family and then you can venture out to missionary outreach in urban areas of need where the people are to serve and witness. Military concept of an HQ vs. a FOB. If you don't believe in a pre-tribulation rapture as I, then its not really gonna be very easy to carry out the great commission if you and your family are starving, cold and defenseless. God turns up the "heat" with apocalyptic events (social, political and natural disasters) and tribulation to get everyone's attention that the day of judgement is drawing near and its time to choose a side. If you as a Christian are going to effectively operate in a tribulation environment, they better hope and pray for the decrement to gather the needed physical resources and survival skills to operate (minister, care and witness) to a society that will likely be in chaos and collapse. I can't stand it when Christians shrug off Prepping because "God will provide", implying that you, as a Christian Prepper must be lacking in faith. I view it as God has granted me the decrement to see what is coming and his plan for "providing" involves my actively heeding his voice and preparing for adversity so I can minister/care for other Christians and support continuing promoting the kingdom of God till the end.
It's a similar concept to praying that God will grant you the 1st division lottery win, but you never go and buy the ticket. Saying "God will provide" but making no effort at your end, is a fools errand.

A proper study, using exergesis and hermeneutical and other tools reveals this in in fact the correct interpretation.

Absolutely correct. Too many pre-Trib folks confuse the devil's and the world's wrath with God's Wrath, which Christians are not subject to. That said, many Christians will die during the Tribulation. That is clear from several places in Revelation and other prophecies. There is no conclusive evidence for pre-Trib rapture, unless one's personal death can be termed a 'rapture'. When my mother died, I'm certain she went to Heaven. She didn't know it was her time. Neither did I. As Jesus said, watch, for you don't know the moment your Lord is coming for you (paraphrased).
you are miss understanding this verse... you arent raptured you are gathered to the clouds to take back the HOLY land.... He isnt saying you will be exempt from all this... other wise when he told the disciples they will go through the tribulation that would be a lie. so to connect all the dots you have to understand that its after the tribulation that happens.

Mark Driscoll’s sermon reminds me of Romans 14! Especially verse 10! ‘You then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgement seat.’ Then read verses on through to the end of the chapter. This kind of message kind of makes me feel a little sick. I truly believe Mark is a brother in Christ but is practicing religion (which divides) instead of trying to be in unity with his Christian brothers and sisters.

A lot of people started putting things aside and homesteading after COVID came through. If a thing, COVID exposed how many people weren't prepared and it was horrifying. I am glad to see Pastor Mark post this. When I read the bible, I felt it was another "hard saying" that we are to seek out the dark places. I would love to live an easy life in a gated community... There are plenty of suburban neighbors who still need Jesus. As long as we wear our beliefs on the outside, and we are prepared to explain and defend our beliefs, good things can happen.
Many of people come on here thinking the RAPTURE WOULD HAVE COME, EXAMPLE CHAD, THEY GIVE UP AND THEY HAVE GONE, AND IT KEEPS GOING.
To be honest I do SOME of these things. I have a little ammo, food, and I WOULD homeschool if I had kids and was young. But I am active in my church, and my community. I am not hiding.

So, let me get this straight. If you perceive that things are about to go sideways and prepare for that; if you homeschool your kids; if you live a rural, homesteading, or suburban lifestyle instead of an urban one; and if you long for Jesus to return soon, you need to get a grip and repent because you are exactly like the Essenes. Apparently, we should all live in the city, avoid putting anything by for a rainy day, send our kids to government schools so they get all the secular teaching possible, and stop wishing for Jesus's return, because it's not like the Bible teaches us to look for the blessed hope or anything. Wow. Not what I expected to hear from a pastor.

Christians not giving a hoot about the rapture will still be saved and raptured, but they will not receive the same reward the other believer will receive that was eagerly waiting and expectant. The message is a simple one, for those who recluse away from the world and hide away in their bunkers, caves, and seclude themselves instead of being a member of the community and spreading the word of god. The Essenes (which means healer because they were noted to live 100+ years) were not absent society. John the Baptist was an Essene, along with his dad Zachariah who was murdered according to Church fathers. In the scripture we see them sometimes referred to as scribes. They were kicked out of society violently by the Sadducees. Rome had to intervene, which is why Rome is in Judea, to quell war of these factions. Check out scroll 11Q13, where they predict the advent of the Messiah in 32 AD. When the Apostle Paul goes to “Damascus”, it’s not Syria but the Essene community called themselves the New Damascus. These are not absent society but are more akin to American Pilgrims, fleeing persecution for the sake of their faith. They were the early followers of John the Baptist and Jesus.

It’s inevitable. There’s nothing that has to happen for it to occur, which could be any day, any moment. Jesus says Himself in Rev 3 we are kept from the hour of trial that is to come upon the whole earth, and the church has already suffered over and over the past 2000 years, so it wouldn’t make since for us to go through the tribulation, to then all of a sudden turn around to return with Him at the 2nd coming, Which is after, the glorious appearing, the blessed hope, the rapture of the church is much closer than you want to believe.
1 Thess where it says (caught up) is harpazo in the Greek, raptures in Latin which means to be snatched away, or taken by force, which then translates to rapture.

In Revelation 3 Jesus was speaking to the Church at Philadelphia. The Church at Philadelphia no longer technically exists. What was left of its descendants were driven out of Asia Minor in 1922, when the Greeks were expulsed from the entire Anatolian peninsula where they lived since NT times. Some churches believe that the seven churches were seven 'church eras', but they weren't. They were actual churches existent in that day. I know that Rev 3 is used to support the pre-Trib rapture, but it doesn't.

The word "harpazo" is in the Bible, which is Greek for "to be caught up." The Latin is "rapturo" which is where we get our word "rapture" from in this context, so ....... yes. 1 Thess. 4:17 among other places. Andy Woods is a great teacher on this topic.

We’re not getting raptured pre-trib. I believe we may be taken up before the breaking of the seals and the devastating bowls of wrath, but definitely not before.
Whatever the case; yeah Gods pure final-stage Armageddon is not intended for repentant Christians. As His child, I don’t expect to break out with sores and boils because; why would He? I’m spiritually His child, he’s not coming to punish US.
One could easily ask any of the martyrs today what comfort there is dealing with persecution. Suffering seems to go hand in hand for Christians living in a fallen world. Revelation 9 shows that Christians are preserved from God's wrath, by their being sealed. So it shows that Christians do not face God's Wrath. But they will face severe persecution during the End times. Revelation 6 shows that millions of Christians will be martyred during the End times (the fifth seal), when antichrist demands worship. Second Thessalonians makes it clear that the gathering together of the saints with Christ -- at his return -- won't take place until after the great apostasy takes place, and after the antichrist is revealed, the son of perdition, who presents himself in the temple of God, claiming to be God. Jesus mentioned that many Christians would be turned in by family and friends, even to death, during the End Times. The fact is, there is no pre-Trib rapture. The evidence in the Bible does not support it. Now, we all want to escape persecution, pain and suffering. I know I do. I'm certain that everyone one in these comment threads does. And that is indeed something to pray for. But at the same time, there is no conclusive evidence that there is a pre-Trib rapture, because Jesus is not returning twice. He's only returning once -- 'the second time' (Heb. 9:28)

As for the 21st century Preppers and Homesteaders, when total chaos occurs after election theft 2024 succeedss at putting Jezebel 2.0 into the WH, those who put all the time and resources into prepping are going to be overwhelmed and over taken by the hoards of people from cities and towns. I honestly don't think that surving long term is viable unless one is literally 30 miles + from the nearest road capable of allowing auto traffic. If these preppers are only a few miles from even a small town , I don't see much chance for little long term survival.
Election theft? He failed to steal it last time, although he tried. Looks from the polls that it will be a tight race, and both have a good chance to win. Although one of the candidates will certainly assert it is stolen if he doesn’t win.

First of all, he said nothing about the rapture. And am I hearing this right? He’s saying that homesteading and being self-sufficient and contrary to corrupt government is wrong? Is he saying that to believe in preparedness is wrong?
No, on the contrary. This is a clip from a longer sermon, he is giving pros and cons to this mindset. If you listen to him regularly you will find that he is actually a staunch pro-life conservative, and finds many benefits in a homesteading lifestyle.
In the clip he is essentially telling the congregation that you shouldn’t shelter yourself from society like the essenes, because there are lost souls that need to be reached, and as Christians it is our responsibility to proclaim the gospel to non-believers.
He is not against homesteading or homeschooling.

There is no pre rapture ..the scripture says AT THE END ...after the tribulation, those that remain shall be caught up. ..how can we be that bright shining light for the heathen / non believers in the last darkest of days ?
With all due respect sir, everybody is aware of the whacky side of these teachings. The actual scholars that believe the pre-trib rapture is plain from scripture though, are head and shoulders above you in terms of exegesis and contextual consistency in interpretation. Men like Michael Vlach and Abner Chou.

@@Michael_Chandler_Keaton Sure, anyone can make assertions, and anyone can write books trying to prove the pre-Trib rapture. I have several of them. But it's still true that Christ is only returning once, and for the pre-Trib rapture theory to be true, he'd be returning twice, and nowhere in the Bible does it say he's returning twice.

Clearly Mark knows nothing about the Essenes….
The Essenes were the ones who were the most committed to reading the understanding the word of the lord, celestial signs, and biblical prophecy. They were the elite school of the prophets.. prophets like Jonah were trained by them.. he was a bit of a big deal in his day. The Essenes had also figured out when the Messiah was suppose to come and believed in him before Jesus even arrived. They knew the scriptures inside and out. They also had it figured out our 2000 years of the age of grace and the Messiah’s soon second coming based on the celestial patterns. It is also thanks to the Essenes we have the Dead Sea scrolls that confirmed the authenticity of our bibles, the book of Enoch and the Book of the Giants. So considering Mark barely understands the book of Revelation, has had his books ghost written by other authors (except the ones that bombed), and has himself homeschooled his kids, I wouldn’t be taking historical lessons on the Essenes from Mark, as the Essenes clearly had more wisdom, experience, and understanding than he does.
And as for those who are homesteading, homeschooling, prepping or saying the rapture is coming soon, perhaps there are some very legitimate reasons for feeling or believing this way. I could easily send you about 200 hours of Bible study and content on behalf of my position on such matters.
