Thanks for watching my video. I gathered all the videos I shot at this show in a TH-cam playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLwdc0qZNx0tbndxFMDblYXJvsFrrHmE3c.html. The songs are Leslie Anne Levine, Song For Myla Goldberg, William Fitzwilliam (new song), Lake Song, Burial Ground (live debut), Down By The Water, Make You Better, Severed, 12/17/12, and Ben Franklin's Song. Enjoy!
I’m so excited. I have been wanting to see The Decemberists live for over a decade. I’m finally going by to see them in SLC tomorrow, and I’ve never been more excited!! To know they’ll be playing new songs makes me even more pumped!! Thank you for posting these!!
I'm super excited for their first new music in 6 years, but to be honest, I liked the live version of Burial Ground more than the new studio version. The latter sounds a bit busy and cluttered to me. Maybe it will grow on me though.
There were quite a few of the classics in there, yes. I just posted Leslie Anne Levine from the show. Here's the full setlist: www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-decemberists/2022/the-mountain-winery-saratoga-ca-1bb39114.html

Hi Terence, as the saying goes, you can't please everyone all of the time. If I go wide too much, then people drop off because all the band members are too small on the screen (I've seen this borne out in the data). On the other hand, if I stay close on the lead singer and take advantage of this zoom lens, then some folks say they wanted to see the whole band. Now, if I had a professional setup with more than one camera, I could cut away from closeups to wide shots, but I'm just a fan doing this as a hobby. Cheers and best wishes.

What a beautiful song!
Thanks for posting. I used the live version to listen to in preparation for a " Benefit Performance" @ Space recently!
This is a great song, I heard it on the radio today and fell in love with it!
Amazing song. ❤❤❤
Will be worth the waiting since I'll be your Girl album. A delicate album in my ears. This song is just what we want to hear.❤
I just love this song!! Just heard it for the first time, on a college radio station today.

same!! headed to the slc show tomorrow!
Just bought a ticket for the Atlanta show. This song gives me acoustic Pixies vibes.
Fun to see this version. Recording is so much better!
Great song and it sounds even better live with the accordion!
Heard this in Smashburger today. In Mesa, Arizona.
"contract malaria" was a stellar addition :-)
I knew about Black Mariah and William Fitzwilliam, but didn’t know about this song til the announcement today!!!
lovely song
GENIUS
This is out now! Very exciting.

They have a way of making up songs that sound like found objects, like standards. Instant classics, I guess that's the phrase
They performed this when I saw them in LA! Hope it gets a studio release someday, it's a really fun song
It did
Trying to decide if I wanna see them in Milwaukee coming up. This song makes me lean “yes”
you should!
The accordion is killing me 🌬💋💔💓💥💫
I wish they liked Chicago more, I couldn't love *them* more. They didn't play this for us. STILL, best birthday I could have wished for. 🎂
They played June Hymn though. I will die if they play it in New York.
A couple of references to The Smiths' Cemetery Gates, which is a good thing.
they missed the last line about malaria.
can I ask you did they play there classics? Seeing them in central park 8/23 THANKS

Can anyone tell what the lyric after "Meet at the burial ground" is? " the aerial"?
I'm stumped... I hear "They ***-did the aerial." The stereo they refer to could have a radio antenna (aka aerial)?
Sounds like...They've undid the aerial... not grammatically correct but who knows.
Someone else online suggested "pocket the aerial" which makes more sense, but I'm not sure I hear the "P."
I think it's "plugged in" but I'm not sure.
@@abstractgrant Oh wow, that does make sense!!
A great song, thank you. Disappointing the cam stayed on the lead fellow for the first three minutes.

@@TimBracken Yeah, I get that. Thanks.
The Island is a masterpiece. It ruined me for this crap.
Love this song, but he did hit several flat notes in this performance.
What's wrong with that? It's not a recording...
Can't stand Colin as a person but he's a very good songwriter
Why don’t you like him
Do you know him ?

Longtime fan and have enjoyed their live shows before the lectures started. Total buzzkill. Colin is a songwriting genius and a political idiot.
Wow, looks boring. I like them, but wouldn’t see them live. Snooze fest.
