Great to see you back on the bike mate! I always do a 20 minute Zwift ftp test. I’ve found that that test is the most accurate to me and the FTP that gives me seems comparable with the power id make on a 1 hr Zwift race example! Keep trying the various methods and see what works for you mate 😁

Great video E! Well done on the progress, I knew it’d be way more than a 1 watt increase 😅
FTP is funny mate, I think the 20 min max effort is a good way to measure because it’s kinda the best of both worlds when it comes to being able to hold the power. Stick with the training and looking forward to racing soon bro! 😎

As much as it sucks, I think it's time for the 20 min test. Reverse calculate the 20 min avg watts you'd need to hit the target FTP you *think* you're capable of. Some people say to start just below your target 20 min power during the test and then increase the 2nd half. IMO, that's hard to do, and I think it actually cost me a few watts the last time I did it. BUT, hanging on for dear life the last 5 minutes is pure torture, so pick your poison.
Do it on Tempus Fugit (sp?) so the terrain is relatively even. Oh, and I will fully admit I turn off ERG mode the last 5 minute effort they have you do in the warm up beforehand. I'm not doing a 5 min effort at VO2 max before an FTP test. It's just silly IMO.
Also, FWIW, the race I did on the Grade the other day was remarkably spot on with where my actual FTP is right now. I was kinda shocked.
    In any case, good luck!
