As an avid PCP rifle shooter, I like that toggle bolt.
yeah! so much better than the traditional bolt action, the market needs more side lever rimfire rifles

I love the summit, I have one in 22lr. I went with the bull barrel and oryx stock . I use this for just bench top shooting. It is beefy when you combine the bull barrel and the oryx , But that is what I wanted and suppressed your are most correct sir it is so quiet. I love all of my Volquartsen products.
Too bad the bolt doesn’t spring forward automatically after you pull it back manually.

Great info and…I agree with your assessment. I also feel that a bolt gun is more accurate and reliability is more predictable…even if the accuracy is marginal.
bolt action Savage 93 stainless heavy barrel in 17 HMR super for squirrels and used to get them for under $150 can still get them for under $300 vs VOLQUARTSEN 17 HMR SUMMIT just under $2,000 the difference will buy a massive amount of ammo

That first 100yd group, first four rounds stringing horizontal, likely wind. Incredible group.
That fifth flyer... reminder to not break your cheek weld (he does this repeatedly), maintain and check your natural point of aim, take an extra breath or two, and execute the fundamentals on every shot. Make it habitual. The vertical stringing in the second group is breathing and having lifted his face after the second round.
Also, hanging on the sled isn't how it is intended to be used. Put some sandbags in the carrier and weigh that thing down, similar to benchrest.

I built a Volquartsen out of my 10/22 target (with the blue stock). I built it so long ago the barrel threads only for a compensator (huge threads, no adapter available). But it will put 5 Eley Target rounds through the same hole at 50 yards.
Never seen a side lever one except on air rifles.Looks quite a good system and a bit faster than a traditional bolt.
Most biathlon rifles are like this.
It’s as fast as repeating firearms get.
Got the Volquartsen VT2 (22 WMR & 17 HMR) with Arken EPL-4 6-24x50 FFP Illuminated.
I’m sure you misspoke yourself on the wind drift compared to .22wmr. I have both, 1 wmr and 3 .17hmrs. Withthe CCI or Hornady 17vmax compared to the wmr in CCI Maxi Mag 40hp, the HMR wind drift is quite a bit less to 200. About 1/4 less on average. But you are sure right about it being prairie dog ready. I keep my shots to 250 and less since it loses so much power past that but I’ve seen my brothers hit past 300 into or with the wind. That’s a nice rifle!
I caught that too. just from a physics standpoint, It did not make much sense to me.
😮👍👍 I have a Sako Quad 4 but only have 22lr and 17mach 2 need to find the 17hmr and 22mag barrels. Its a tack driver as well. I have quarters with 5 shots in them at 100 yards "on a claim day"

Watch your video. You hit the last one twice. You just barely moved the last one but then the second shot you splitting around but you did hit it the first time. Look at the video what you probably already have but congratulation 🙂

The Biathalon skiers uses a round "manipulator" instead of this squarish type, and they are fast!

What’s really impressive is that CCI TNT in 17 HMR is horrible for accuracy compared to everything else made for that caliber

Friend of mine has one of these rifles in .17wsm. He paid 5k for it and the gun sits in the safe while he grabs his .17wsm savage b mag instead. Limiting factor with these rifles will always be the ammo.

Love your show. Been watching your videos ever since I ran in to the one about Stangers. LOL. That's hilarious, AND good for you. That video actually answered the question I had after they handed me a box of Stangers at Core the other day, and I started researching ammo for my rifles. I'm thinking the Singer might be the best possible shot I have at dropping a coyote if I had to. My simi automatic is a 22LR. What would be the equivalent of the Stinger in a 22WMR shell? And do you think I'm on the right track, or do you have suggestions? Thanks. Great show.

Absolutely, roughly double the energy depending on the specific load.
I think you should split th card with each firearm you review.

My first 10/22 was a Volquartsen. I never have shoot it suppressed. After they came out with their 1/2-28 to their thread adapter I bought one but gave up trying to get the original compensator off.
