In this Photoshop tutorial, you'll learn how to remove objects from a photo using Generative Fill. Gen Fill allows you to create new pixels in your photos for mind-blowing and previously impossible object removal adjustments. This technique is super handy to add to your toolkit of object removal techniques and is an excellent option for beginners in Photoshop to get great results without much skill required. I hope you enjoy!

Great presentation. Clear, concise and to the point! I love how you smoothly and quickly show where to find it in the dropdown bar too. So helpful. I learn something new every time I watch any of your videos. Thank you!
I've been a pro photographer since 1967 (yes, we had cameras back then). You have made my life a whole lot easier. I have been struggling with the 'spot healing brush' for my heavy lifting. This makes far more sense for difficult objects. The best part is that it maintains the texture in the area removed.
God bless you for your kindness in sharing your skills.
This was so helpful and so clear. I'm a total newb and managed to edit my photo in a manner of minutes thanks to you. Thank you so much!!
Thank you! This was brilliant and so helpful. Glad to have discovered your presentations.
Always happy with your video's, so thank you!
New to photos hop but thanks a million for helping me solve something..
Cool, thanks again for your easy to follow instructions, and your very nice speaking voice.
This guy is brilliant! So simple, yet hardly anyone can explain it so it works in most situations!
Great video! Thanks so much
Well done mate, great video. Just starting on this Photoshop journey and in that 9mins I learned a lot 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this
Great video Brendan!!!
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed!
Excellent video. That explains a lot to me. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Thanks so much for those videos!
You are welcome :)
Question, in your Ps course done similarly to this one? I had to watch on my iPad bc the ps screen was so tiny. Even on the iPad it was difficult to see.
THANK YOUUU OMGG!!!
Great video & pdf.
Glad you enjoyed them :)
Wow...thanks so much.
You are welcome!
Its interesting to see you do these things Brendan and once again this is a great video, but I cant see the excitement behind generative fill because it produces results in 1024 resolution. This technology is only really useful for processing for social media, forget any idea of printing the photo out.
Hi, I have an object to remove from a picture and have attempted to follow this tutorial however I can’t seem to find the generative fill option. I have checked in the ‘Window’ tab as you suggest in the tutorial but it is not there either 🙈 would appreciate some help and guidance if you are able to please. Thank you
Training very explanatory I was able to follow along with the generated fill but not able to continue with using the move tool, I'm getting this message. Can't use the tool because the target layer is unsupported. How do I fix it please?
I have photoshop and I checked the window for the generative fill but I don’t have it how do I get it?
In photoshop beta
This stuff is just unbelievable. Is this removal at a lower resolution, or can I make a decent print (11x14) using generative fill?
You will have to try it for your own photo. It generally is a lower quality and noticeably so when zoomed in. The quality change is more obvious with larger areas
Ngl that photo looks faf. 😂
It looks like it was composited ahead of time to have easy separation :P
I don't have the generative fill option when I click on the contextual text bar. Is there a different area the generative fill option would be?
same problem for me
You need to open Photoshop BETA to get half of it
Same problem for me
What should I do??
Please help me, My generative fill always creates other elements to put their but doesnt make the car go away
i dont have generative fill option in my photoshop cc2021
My generative fill doesn't remove but instead it replace, so if I were to remove the car here then it would just re-colour the car.
I don’t have contextual task
The quality of the fill is subpar, characterized by low resolution and an absence of adequate noise matching.
I would agree the quality is not there yet. I don’t rely on this method myself but it is certainly a great fall back option and it will only get better!
When I used this tool on a problematic area in one of my recent photos, I thought as you did -- until I chose one of the other 2 options -- which perfectly matched the background noise and grain structure.
The resolution will be higher if you select smaller "sections" at a time to use the generative fill on. Check this video out: th-cam.com/video/yZr_76MTmNM/w-d-xo.html @@BrendanWilliamsTutorials
how can it not works at me?
Mine keeps adding new objects, it won't remove the item it just turns it into something else
Try selecting a larger area. This also can happen if you have too much overlap with another object with your defining selection.
