its about 7 years after this video was posted, but it just helped me out! ordered some new wheels and tires for my F150. the website suggested i purchase that tool, but it didnt give any instructions for it so i didnt purchase one. was gonna just have a shop do it, but now i can buy the tool and i dont have to pay the shop fee and whatever labor they'd charge to do a 5 minute job.

Hey I've got a 2009 f150 and did the relearn trick you showed but didn't need to use the relearn tool. Just let the air out for like 5-10 seconds once your in relearn mode. Worked like a charm. My tire shop here couldn't figure it out. Thank you for this video. Super easy to do. I love when ford does stuff like this to make it easy. as a self-teaching, Learning "Mechanic In Training" I can honestly say your videos have helped me with my Fords and sometimes even transfer the knowledge onto other brands of vehicles that my friends have me service.. I know your strictly a Ford Guru to say the least, but My customer has a 2009 chevy traverse with one TPMS Sensor not reading its the back right one as the Traverse will show TP on the instrument cluster in Information Mode.. it will display it as Rear Right: -- and have the warning check service TPMS.. this car is how i first learned how to reset the Sensors and that theres an exact procedure to ensure it registers as 1..2...3..4.. LF...RF...RR..LR.. But do u know if the air release method would work on a 09 chevy since you said that was about when the F150s started popping up around 09 as well.? tried to borrow the tool from local "o'rielys" where half the people working there are high school afficianados who im pretty sure dont own a car or even know what a car is.. but this one kid started looking on this laminated piece of paper after i asked if they loaned the relearn tool, and he only looked at one side of the paper and told me no and im not even sure if he knew what the tool was tbh. thanks

FordTechMaculoco I have a 2011 Ford Expedition e l. Does it have the capability of telling me what the individual tire pressures are? The diagnostic engineering menu does not show individual tire pressures. Are the tpms sensors actually a sensor that can read varying pressures? Or are they switches that can only tell above or below a certain pressure limit? Seems stupid you can't read individual tire pressure or even which tire is low.

On a Ford Fusion you can put it into training mode by hitting the hazard button 6x.
I have one of the low dollar TPMS reprogrammer transmitters. It is the orange one that is as cheap as $10. It works for the first 3 tires but the 4th one doesn't do anything and the training mode isn't completed. I have to get a replacement sensor for this wheel.
What I'm not sure about is the electronic tool I need. From other videos it seems like you have to program the new sensor with a code for your particular year/make/model sensor. This is a more expensive tool with a screen and you select your car.

I was having an issue with my "low tire pressure" error symbol on my 2012 Fusion coming on my dash. Without buying ANY special tools I simply ensured that the tire pressure on all four tires was spot on INCLUDING the spare, DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THE SPARE. I then pressed the HAZARD button on then off THREE times and before I could get out of my driveway the horn beeped and magically the error symbol went off and hasn't come back. Remember: if you have any appreciable miles on your vehicle you like I have gone through several sets of tires which means your TPMS wheel sensors have probably long ago been discarded by some tire tech. I suspect it was low pressure on the spare that was causing the error code. Good luck!

2010 Escape with 141K miles the original TPMS units have been dead over a year and was replacing new Michelin tires last Christmas along with ordered new replacement Motorcraft 9L3Z-1A189-A TPMS sensors, they are the real deal not clones.
Also ordered the Super EL50448 (2 in 1 TPMS Relearn Tool). Medical issue wifes hip (her Escape parked) two months hence delayed before the TPMS Relearn Tool applied) with app 140 miles driven to hospital and post surgery checkups before relearning tool applied.
Tire pressure at 32 psi following this video, I get a dash instuction to learn left front tire. With the Relearn Tool and 6 to 10 cycled power on button I get two car horn beeps, the dash showing TPMS Failure. These are brand new Motorcraft TPMS sensors.
I read to drive and within 30 minutes to recheck before the TPMS sensors shut down to save the batteries. Same failed results even after airing up to 38 psi.
Do I have to air down all four to 20 psi then back up to 32 psi (Ford spec psi) then check again with relearning the TPMS sensors? New battery 9.6 volts meter tested. PLEASE HELP! THX.

Question Sensei- A flat in 2016 Explorer nixed the left rear TPMS. With tire repaired, the vehicle in TPMS learns mode, using a Super EL50448 set to "ford" the system does not read the left front tire. The only tire with a fault is the left rear and since I cannot get past the first tire what is the work around. The Super EL50448 has a Ford specific easy to understand video but no explanation found why it won't read a functioning sensor to train the tires in sequence so I can get to the left rear.

I did have all 2 tires rotated, the next day the TPM tire pressure sensor fault light turn on. I followed your video, starting with the front left tire didn't peep, front right tire did 2 peeps, back right tire peep, back left tire didn't peep. 2 days later, I tired it again, same thing. I know I need to replace the tire sensors, on all 4 tires, will I be able to drive it without and problems? I heard using a tire magnet.

How do you get a 2018 Ford Expedition with push button start into programming mode? Is there a training tool for that model? Thanks!

Great video thanks. Is there any way to reset sensor to a lower pressure. I have an e150 2014 and the manufacturer rear pressure is 80 psi. 99.9% of the time I carry 2 toddlers in the back and that’s it. The rear seats are removed as well. Needless to say it’s pretty stiff back there. It’s much smoother when I deflate to about 65. But then I have to look at that tpms light. Also my last set of tires had center wear indicative of higher pressure. Thoughts?

Hello. I bought this F150 Lariat 2010 and came with tire pressure sensor alert. I bought 4 new sensors on Amazon (not motorcraft, other brand that was saying they were compatible with my car and had a ton of reviews). Then I installed on my car and after all is in place I tried to use this remote. No matter what method I use, the deflating one or this remote control one, I can't make my car talk to the new sensors. I read on the manual that if the sensor light blinks for 1 minutes and then becomes solid amber it's a TPMS module problem and it does that. What do you think?

Hi really enjoyed your tutorial! I have a 2015 Lincoln MKC with a push button start, how do I go to the tpms learn mode on this vehicle and can I use that little gray tool with the green button for my application too?
    Thanks

Does this tool reprogram the TPMS module or simply reset it? I.e., if I put lower pressure tires (44psi) on my van in the front than on the back (80psi LT), will this reprogram and turn off the dash warning light?

The deflation method didn't work, so I got the remote sensor training device. I tried it and it worked for the 1st tire(left front), but then it wouldn't work for the next(front right) tire. These are brand new tires, btw......any recommendations or suggestions to try at this point? (2010 Ford Escape)

Hello, I have a Ford Escape 2006 hybrid , and before I appeared the code tire sensor fault , and when I roll it was removed, and now I see the code tire monitor fault, and it is no longer removed at any time and gives me no warning of low air pressure, I already bought the sensor programming tool and if the training of the 4 sensors is completed well but when I turn off and start the car returns the code pull monitor fault, could you help me with that? What problem could have my vehicle... Thank you very much brother , i await your answer , greetings

I have a related question for my 2015 Transit connect. Because it's a commercial van the system shows the low pressure warning when psi drops under 40 psi. That means I have to keep pressure at 42 or so. I never carry heavy weight, just light boxes so the ride is hard as a rock. Any way to set the low pressure warning to 32 psi so I can keep the tires at 35?
