  • This video aims to showcase how mods have made Skyrim VR one of the most immersive and interactive VR experiences you can play today.
Skyrim VR has come a long way since its original release thanks to the strength and support of the amazing community and mod authors. The game in its modded form can pull you into the fantastical world of Tamriel with a level of freedom and adventure that can't be found anywhere else.
Hopefully I can get you interested in starting your very own journey whether you're returning to the game or are being introduced to it for the first time!
I do plan on creating more videos to go more in-depth on specific mods, especially ones that may seem confusing to unexperienced users. Please look forward to them or make suggestions on mods you want covered!
If you are an advanced user and plan on modding the game yourself outside of using pre-made modlists, please be aware that while most mods created for Skyrim Special Edition do work in Skyrim VR, there are exceptions such as mods made specifically for Anniversary Edition or mods that use .dll files with no specific VR version.
For questions or concerns specifically related to Skyrim VR modding please join the helpful community at the Skyrim VR subreddit: / skyrimvr

I had a very hard time playing flat screen games again after this. Fully modded on my potato laptop but ran good enough for well over 400 hours of VR excellence.

What laptop do you use. I don't know shi about pc and specs but I got a quest 2 and wanna play Skyrim VR. I don't need nothing too expensive just something that I can play casually on with mods

@adamajobe1756 i forget now what that laptop was. It was a little better graphics card than the recommended specs on steam. I got a pc with a i7 and a 3080 that is way more than enough.

Just finished my skyrim VR modlist including all this installed, 4 to 8k textures with dyndolod, grass lod and enb. Runs smooth as hell after using Open Composite with it. Just make sure not to use VR FPSstabiliser with Open Composite because they arent compatible. Anybody who has stuttering issues in VR needs to try Open Composite if you havent. Its a game changer for my old 1080ti 🤙

Thanks for this video, this was one of the most informative summaries of what all the mods in FUS actually do, I'm bookmarking it for later. It's crazy that you only have 14 subs!

I only have Xbox SX right now. Really want to build a PC for VR gaming. Probably will have to wait for this winter, people keep saying that new GPUs and new Oculus quest 3 is coming out at that time. Maybe will get rtx4070 if price is right.

One year to late but YOU DONT NEED A PREMIUM NEXUS MEMBERSHIP. It will take less than two hours of clicking, but that is not as bad as it soud. About 400 clicks total tops, and if you glue the browser window to a side, the button will always show in the same spot. Also, just put youtube in another monitor/another window, and you can just watch something while you do it. For me it was totally worth it.

As someone who has done this manually last week, I can confirm that premium Nexus Membership is NOT required. When you're starting to get to the larger mods, only about 16 will download concurrently sooo... don't forget to come back and keep going. Haha.
Though honestly after all that, I realized just how integral Nexus Mods is to modding and will be getting a membership in the future just to support them.

Hey thanks for the video! I was wondering how you managed to get the darker graphics instead of the cartoony ones?

What texture mods are you using for your version of Whiterun to look like that?

Any tips for motion sickness? Any time I am moving with the joysticks on the quest 2 I feel like I want to throw up. I can't do more than 20 minutes. Standing still and looking around is no problem and I also don't want to teleport everywhere, but that might be my only option?

Just going to be practice. It's unfortunately your body having a sensitive inner ear, thus your brain getting upset at the stimuli of you moving without you actually moving. A solid tip to help you continue to practice it, is whenever you walk/run just literally walk/jog in place lightly to give your brain the illusion of at least that up and down movement. This will mitigate the strain and let you play roughly 30% longer (in my case at least). My original play time was 2 hours a session before my brain would be flipping out, now I can make it up to 4 with this trick and a year and some change of practice. Even then it's not so much motion sickness, but more headache due to the close screens for so long.
