    Starting to see more Drive and Fuzzes with wet/ dry mixing knobs( same with Compressors, which can be great,properly placed and utilized).This is a necessary feature for forms where placement is crucial in relation to Reverb, delay , and other modulations.This way, you can control mix levels of distorted and clean signal, which allows greater control,essentially the same as having a switcher that can change pedal order.Same goes for the recent parallel blenders, that are much less complicated and expensive than before.

    • @pedalpartners
      @pedalpartners  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pedalpartners Do you think I'd benefit from adding that delay? I have seriously bought about 6 pedals from seeing them in your videos and only one hasn't really bonded with me. for delays, I have a helix (I think it's delays are one of it's strongest features), a boss dd500, catalinbread adineko, zoom ms70cdr, dod rubberneck, and an old deluxe memory man. Do you think the helix/dd500 covers most of what the new walrus delay does? I can't tell if it's the pedal or your skill dialing it in but I loved that sound

    • @pedalpartners
      @pedalpartners  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bradfreed1942 ah that's awesome! it's definitely got a unique sound to it & a lot of people are saying it's a "timeline killer" [tho of course the timeline is one of my faves]. that being said you do have an awesome collection there. the d1 really has some cool quirks, the tweak knob allows you to do some really cool things, basically different modulations & ageing for each delay type. in digital mode the ageing makes this really nice bit crush sound, i normally don't like bit crush so that's saying something!

    In the first setup (when you mention slowdive and cocteau twins), is the chain julia->slo or the way around? It does seems you put chorus before reverb but I'm not sure. By the way, these walrus audio pedals are grand.

      @pedalpartners  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      everything is right to left, so you're correct julia > slö. walrus pedals are awesome!

    Is the Squier by Fender Affinity Telecaster good for this kinda stuff?

    • @markferguson3745
      @markferguson3745 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The choice of guitar is more personal, depending on what you feel comfortable with.The only real criteria is lower output, " vintage" pickups, which generally offer better note definition and clarity, clean or dirty.Even that is debatable.
      Anything from the Fender/ Squier line, to Firebirds with mini hums, to SG's or semi hollows with P90's , work fine .Tele's are a good choice, including the Wide Range Humbucker type.Find new approaches and sounds .Peace.
