Good video 👍🏼 I had a questioned. I have a 2015 promaster 1500 and it shakes when I accelerate around 50 mph then stops around 60 🤦🏻♂️ based on some research I’m finding that it’s a torque converter, any thoughts? Thanks
Possibly torque converter shudder. Possibly a worn axle joint. For $20, buy a bottle of trans additive that promises to solve converter shudder, put it in and if it make ANY difference, you know that was the problem, and you know you will prob need a converter soon.
Congratulations for sharing your videos. But I have a question. Promaster 3500 2014. When it is idling I accelerate it but it only reaches 3000 revolutions and I want to know if you have any experience about what can happen. Thanks.
Dear friend, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question, despite being a very busy person. You have taken a great weight off my shoulders since I thought the engine was low on compression. Thanks again. And I will be in touch with you soon. Have a good time.@@promastersonly1419
well done kip! incredible explanation of the contoured cradle. i wish i didnt throw my cash away on the transmission jack. could have put the motorcycle jack to good use even after this endeavor. question for the brain: to my surprise, it appears i did the job succesfully, but since reassembly i have an unusual shake every so many rpms at idle. its vaguely noticeable but it feels as if something is now out of balance. doesnt appear to be critical. since my heart attack occurred due to no shifting gears after i realized it needed 4 more quarts the transmission is now shifting as one should. per your recommendations i replaced pump and converter. i took the mounting cap off the flex plate to inspect for cracks appeared to be solid. ideas?
Most likely, a vibration at idle isnt going to anything suspension or transmission related. A flexplate wouldnt do that, nor would anything that spins at idle be balance related, since it would do it at all rpm. It’s more likely to be fuel mixture or vac leak, but I will say some pentastar idle a little shakey for reasons I have never figured out. Absent a code, you can ignore anything idle related, I think.
@@promastersonly1419 just finished part 3. too many quotes to list at the moment; nonetheless, well done! absolute masterpiece. its shifting without shutter now so i certainly cant complain. moreover, the shake is sporadic and quite faint. im still regretting not going to sonic temple and stopping by the shop with the minivan to request the job and your response be stone-faced: 'promaster only' i did notice the vac pump had a scar in the line when i removed it from the trans. may try to wrap it with some tape.
great source of info! thanks!
How many hours on average does it take a ram dealership to swap out 62te transmissions?
thanks again

It's programmed to rev limit to 3000rpm in neutral or park.

@@pearlrival3124 interesting. A small vac leak would do that, but be under the threshold to trip a code. Worth pursuing.
I'm finding the first step for doing anything, well, second after opening the hood, is removing the headlight(s)...
