Also, XL hadn't paid attention and didn't realize it was wine until after he drank it! He was distracted and just took the glass. But yes he did have to fib to cover up why he choked!

For the past week I've been reading them and currently I'm finishing the second one. I haven't been more invested in a book in such a long time. And then I suddenly saw that the manhua had continued again! What a great occasion! There, of course, are many differences between the two. The books show so much of the characters' inner thoughts and perspectives, while the visual aspect of the manhua adds some subtle teases like blushing and so. Both are perfect for reading side by side, just gorgeous.
