One of the reasons Dale died was the way he positioned his seat and sat in it in a reclined position. Bill Simpson (Simpson Safety) told him the seat belts were not designed to be used in this fashion, but Dale blew him off.
Bill Simpson told him that because he didn't install his belts according to factory recommendations. Didn't have anything to do with the angle of the seat

That’s a load of BS. They TESTED the car for him they didn’t set it up. He ran his car the way he was comfortable with it and won DESPITE his setup being slower than what some of the drivers who tested for him had.
