This has been a very informative and helpful video series so far. Thank you. I do have one question though, at the settings you suggested, about how long would it take to recharge a battery that was just used in a fight back to full?
Hey may I ask if you are going to do a guide to both spinner and flipper add on cause I really need help with my spinner add on and I don’t know what the problem is so I was wondering if you would do a tutorial on how to make the spinner and flipper add on plz
A lot of people will already know this, but I thought it might be helpful to younger viewers to provide an extra note for them in case they were curious about the 'S' in the '2S' battery thing. It stands for 'series'. The LiPo battery pack shown here is made up from 2 cells (that's cells spelt with a 'c'), which are wired up one after the other, which is what 'in series' means. A TV show like The Simpsons shows one episode after the other, not all of them at the same time - that's a series, too. Having one cell joined on to another in series gives you twice the voltage, which is what helps make today's robots so fast and powerful. The other way to build up a battery pack from 2 cells is to wire the cells 'in parallel'. That pack would be called '2P' instead of '2S'. Wiring cells in parallel doesn't double the voltage, it doubles the capacity, so they run for longer before needing to be recharged. Combat robots only have to fight for 3 minutes, so a '2P' battery wouldn't be a lot of use because it would produce a low voltage for twice as long as you needed. That would take up a lot of your weight allowance for no good reason. You don't need to know any of this, but I thought it might be useful if anybody starts asking you difficult questions... ;-)
Always charge in a LiPo bag to contain any potential fire, and make sure it’s not near anything flammable. Any fire extinguisher will help, but LiPo fire is self-fueling and will continue to burn until it exhausts itself. That’s why the LiPo bags are so important for safety.
Hi there, we have just got the viper kit and our battery has for some reason gone below 5.5v and the charger reading is saying that the the battery is below minimum charge. What should I do to get it charged up again please?
@@WitchDoctorTV Hello, no I think it was OK my boys were really eager as they had been waiting for so long (we are in the Philippines) they played with their vipers but left something connected or just ran the battery down. Is there something we can do? thank you so much for the reply.
@@WitchDoctorTV so we are currently having the same problem as this person put it's saying the same thing the 5.5 below minimum and we was wondering what can we do to remedy that
Charging the battery was the hardest part for me when building robots. Thank you for covering it here, it really helps. :)
Thanks for mentioning this Derin! It’s such an important part of building robots safely 👍

Great rundown on batteries and safety. Thanks SO MUCH for giving back to the community like this!!
Is there a chart somewhere that has the formula so I can plug in my own battery information instead of the one you gave an example on?
Very well done. You have covered all of the safety procedures for these types batteries.
Yay! Another video!

This is a great explanation, thanks for sharing it with us! I’ll make sure to include this in future videos 👍
Thanks, I was wondering about that. Series makes more sense (or cents :)
What kind of fire extinguisher is recommended for these type of rechargeable batteries?

12:20 Is that a BeyBlade in the box?
*let it rip*
Can I ask a question

Was it at 5.5v right out of the box?
