Seeing people get their childhood dolls or their dream childhood dolls with this anniversary release makes me so happy! I bought Kirsten too- she's the only one of the first 6 I've never had brand new. She's so pretty! My first was Samantha, and I still have mine, although her head is no longer original since she's been to the doll hospital- but I love Samantha so much, I have 5 of her! And yes, they are each distinctly different. And I am STILL debating an anniversary one!

My childhood dream doll was a Pleasant Company Felicity. When I bought one for myself last year, it was pretty emotional, this video reminded me of that. Now have not just the doll, but quite a few outfit from her collection that she models on rotation haha!
I also sold my Kirsten doll as a young adult. I had a son and thought I would never have a daughter to pass her down to. I also thought selling her would make me more of an adult 😅 🙃. So silly. I am about to get my new Kirsten in the mail, and I got Felicity for my red head baby girl for when she's older. We can be adults and still love our childhood dolls. 😊
When I was young my best friend had a pleasant company Josefina and while she barely used her she was always my favourite. I just got my 35th anniversary Josefina and she looks just like my friends when I was young. It was so emotional seeing the doll that defined my childhood in perfect condition just like I remembered her.
I am an adult who loves dolls and kid toys. We should all honour our inner child more. I honestly really appreciate videos like this made by other adults! She’s beautiful by the way!

I think they said the 35th Anniversary dolls would be around until they sold out, so not sure how many that is for each girl.

I know how you feel. When I was growing up, I never heard about American Girl, but when my mom was in the hospital, and I was at my aunt's house, I saw the AG magazine that she had, which had Molly and all of the original dolls. I FELL IN LOVE WITH MOLLY! I was so sad I couldn't get her. When I found out that AG was re-releasing the dolls, I immediately bought Molly. I waited impatiently for her to arrive, and when she finally did, I was SO BEYOND EXCITED. As I unboxed her, I started crying, and when I finally saw her beautiful face, I literally started bawling. And, yes, I know this might be dumb, but I literally hugged the box she was in. Molly will always be my favorite doll.
I completely understand what you feel for your Kirsten doll, as I feel the same for my lovely Samantha and Rebecca: for me are as real girl children! 🥰
Funnel cake I'm sorry but I can't fault you too much. I got funnel cake once a year if I was lucky and I got the chicken pox right before I was supposed to go to the carnival and all I wanted was that funnel cake I was so sad.

I was an adult when American Girl dolls came out. I always thought the concept was super cool though. I loved loved the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I just purchased Kirsten and she is going to be 'Mary Ingalls' for me. Then I am getting Molly to be 'Laura Ingalls'. I am buying clothes from the 1800's to put on Molly and removing her glasses so she can be my 'Laura'. There are other dolls that were made to actually be Mary and Laura, from a different company, but I truly disliked the way the dolls looked. With American Girl releasing the first original 6, I just got so excited because I truly like the way they look. So, through American Girl I am able to have dolls that, I am making into Mary and Laura dolls. I also can't wait to read the stories of Kirsten Larson and Molly McIntire. I'm interested in the other 4 orginal dolls too. However, I think I just want to read the stories about them. So glad you have your Kirsten back !!!
