- Installing a Go Fast Camper onto a 5th Gen 4Runner couldn't be easier now that there is the Universal Tent Mounting Kit. The Kit includes all the brackets and hardware that you are going to need to install this tent onto your 4Runner. The mounts allow for the thinnest RTT to only sit about a half an inch off your roof.

Nice! GFC bros.
Hey, Mike thanks for the comment. Said hi to you at SEMA this year while you were talking to Jason at the Dometic booth. These GFC tents are so awesome!
Last Line Of Defense how does this tent fair in the rain and snow?
Does the rtt mount kit come with the 4 outriggers block or does it come with the tent? I’m trying to buy the the kit but I dont see that it come with the kit online!
TBH, I don't know. Your best bet is to contact the company.
One potential reason for me not to buy would be the lack of ability to mount a 180 awning. Not sure I’d trust mounting to the actual camper. Thoughts?
Why couldn't youount it to the side of the GFC?
Price?
Did the sharkfin replacement cover come with the tent mount?
Two thumbs up on the production!
It came with the installation kit.
@@SnailTrail4x4 Thanks!
How do you like GFC after two years?
Very nice. I have an ikamper Skycamp 4x... thinking of changing it up and getting some space back up top for other things... since you can mount items to the top and sides of this tent... where you can't on the iKamper.
That's great feedback thanks for that advice
Nice! Does anyone know if I can mount it to an OEM roof rack and bar on an FJ cruiser? Thank you…
You might have to make some special brackets, because the RTT mounts on the side not on the bottom
So the satellite radio and GPS reception is perfect with this installed over the antenna?
Yes, not effected
can you cut the roof off the 4runner so there direct passage from the cab?
That would be awesome! Want to lone me a 4runner so I can try
My 2011 4runner is getting close to 200,000 and I'm thinking about doing the same. Would be pretty epic.
Can you still tilt the sunroof up with that low profile mount.
Will the sunroof break if you tilt it up?
How does it fair in the rain without a fly?
Haven't tried, but the top is fiberglass, and the sides are almost vertical with a heavy duty fabric that has been waterproof treated.
Very nice install great details. Where can I purchase the flat antenna that replaces the sharkfin?
We got that from GFC also
@@SnailTrail4x4 does it still function as an antenna?
@@mrbruns2619 absolutely!
What’s the length inside? And does that tent sleep 2?
It does sleep 2, it's a long full sized bed
How is the wind noise with that tent? I am really interested in going that route but afraid that he large overhang/gap in the front will make it very loud at highway speeds. I have yet to see anyone do a highway road noise review with it.
Wind is not tolerable, with that over hang lose 3mpg too!
What shock/lift system do you have with the 4runner/GFC camper? Will the 4runner sit well with medium coils or would it need heavy coils?
It all depends on what you want to do, and how much weight you plan on carrying or adding to your 4Runner.
@@SnailTrail4x4 Let's just say for GFC Camper, occasional passengers and some camping items in the back. Nothing too crazy. No front/rear bumpers.
Hey, great video! How was your XM reception after the install?!
1. Is there a fly to keep rain from entering through the open door?
2. How much room is there to add pillows, blankets, mattress liner. etc?
There is no fly that I know of but the near vertical sides with a heavy duty fabric that's water resistant treated.
Not much room for items on the inside, sheets and a thin blanket, I don't think pillow would work. This is definitely not a 4 season tent
May I ask the measurement from ground to top of camper? Looks like a similar lift and needing to ask due to garage height. Thank you.
The camper is 5" tall. Take your vehicle and + 5" 😁
sweet! would it fit 2 adults and 2 kids or is that pushing it?
This size would be to small for 4 people it would fit 2 adults. But I believe they are making a bigger size
Looking to buy this asap, does it have a pull handle to close? how do you like it so far? just sold the gobi in preperation
If you look at the other videos it's super simple to pull down. You grab the tent material and pull down until you can reach the top.
Lead time was 18 months when I called. Got a roofnest Falcon instead.
No RTV for the roof brackets/bolts?
Loctite should be sufficient, RTV would have been a good idea also
@@SnailTrail4x4 You'll want RTV up there, especially for heavy rain and/or snow. The roof will leak like a sieve if not properly sealed.
Where can I get one
Good stuff! Thank you for the video!
Hope it helps! Thanks for taking the time to comment
Why on God's green earth, did Toyota make a tall shark's fin plastic antenna? Especially if it is NOT warranted for reception.
Appearance 🤷♂️
GFC for the win! Definitely on my build list. Thanks for the install video!
It's a great tent you will love it
GFC for $3,500!!!??? GFY!!!!
$8k hahahaha
Yeah Right! $8k will buy 16 Really nice Ground top tents, but the boogey man may get ya.
