So for my 2 cents, look into Ridget Scene lights with a remote or spod set up depending on your budget (buy once, cry for a tad) 😮😊
You might also add a canopy
Rigid lights are really good. If you want to stay with Utah company Heretic is based in state. There is Diode Dynamics, Baja, Morimoto, KC Hilights.
What a great set-up. Love your and Zora's relationship. Maybe also worth getting a little headtorch: really useful especially the red light setting as you can be discreet and it preserves your night vision.
Sweet ❤ if I can make a suggestion, they make awesome solar motion-detecting lights that would come on automatically as soon as you stepped out or anyone else tried to step anywhere near your vehicle. I would put them on the sides and the back and the front. Just a suggestion❤
She would have to remove them to drive in the dark. I have them on my travel trailer. I “never” drive in the dark. Until last week when I left a boondock area early in the dark and had to remove them. I use that plastic super Velcro to hold them on.

As smart as Zora is i bet you could teach her to climb and go down the ladder by herself. Im glad you have a better sleeping arrangement.
That breakdown is going to get everything wet in driving snow or rain. It will be much quieter in wind though and warmer in sub-freezing temps.
I was going to buy one of those till i seen the price. But when its your fulltime home its worth the buy plus your saftey is worth it👍💯💃

Congratulations!! I have a similar setup and I turn the ladder into a ramp by attaching strips of a heavy mat to it when it’s time for the dog to go up. Just a thought. Enjoy!

I love how your 4runner is evolving. I'm sure you'll have tables again in no time! The chorizo, potatoes, and eggs is literally one of the best comfort meals ever. Try it with tortilla, like make a taco or burrito. Plus coffee 😁
I really like that hard sided triangular looking rooftop camper. It seems easy to set up, safer from bad weather compared to fabric or soft rooftop tents. Maybe i am wrong but its really cool. Am wondering how many campers have discovered it? I have seen many complain how their soft tents break or tear up too soon. Enjoy your camping and cool vlogs as always

Nice changes! Hey Grace if you have a measuring tape handy, could you give us the real world interior dimensions please? Also I bet you'd like to have a red light exterior light option so it doesn't disrupt up your night vision. If you're going all in, maybe look for LED wheel well rock lights that can change color so they're set low instead of eye level, and one or two separate flood lights at roof level for major operations.

I like your RTD it's a lot safer than common and widely used hard and soft top RTT made of fabrics with just zippers and nets to open and closed your entry, window etc. It's okay when overlanding along with couple of, mates and all. Not as safe as your's for a solo trip.

Great new setup! There are some interesting YT videos about getting dogs in RTTs and I think IKamper makes something that will turn the ladder into steps. Also, you should bring the ladder up when you sleep. Congrats!

if u got a back table for the trunk like the newer 4runners offer that hold 400lbs; zora could jump onto it and into the tent and vice versa to get out from the back, that or a table in general

I suggest solar motion activated lights for outside. They have some that clip on, so you can put them anywhere you need them. I'd have to rig a pulley for my dog... that lift would be too much on my back. What an amazing dog, BTW! 😍

ahhhh im so excited for you! we have been wondering when you were going to get a roof top tent. but never seen the hard sided one like that though looks good! also we've been struggling getting our German Shepard in and out of our tent and you had an amazing idea to use the vest as a handle. We definitely are going to have to try that. Congrats on the new setup!

I have NEVER seen a *dwelling* like yours, where it is all hard and like secure like that. Pretty frikin cool. I'd feel extra safe in thing, mines just a thick canvas.
Do you think there is rook when the dwelling is closed that your bedding stuff would be able to live up there ? So you dont have to take it up and down.
Im sure youll go through alot of trial and error of what works for you. But congrats on the new sleep space for your and your pup!

Good job! I’d love to have something like that! I’m sleeping inside my runner, It gets the job done but I bet that’s so much nicer! And as you already know, when out and about like that, watch your 6. Tons of crazy people out there.
