It was fun to watch you explore The Cove. I have not been there in quite a few years. The bridge you found used to go from side to side but apparently flooding and lack of upkeep for some years has caused wash out on the banks. When I was a kid and even in the late 70s when I began to drive, there was a paved road through the creek and we could easily drive through it. Many people would take their cars there and give them a bath. From preteen years through my early 20s the cove was a popular swimming hole. There is an old dam up the creek from the cove and in my early 20s a bunch of us created a lower dam which made for a nice deep swim hole. I've often been told about the caves in that area and a close acquaintance had a human skull back in the day which he said he found in one of the caves. MJ trivia: Rumor has it that Mount Joy is built on top of a series or network of caves and that they were in fact a part of the underground railroad... and that MJ played a large part in helping slaves get to safety. After the tragedy of a life lost in 2001, I know that many farmers and others who knew they had cave entrances on their properties, made sure that the entrances were not accessible. Stay safe!
I checked out a book in the Canton PA. library named the History of the Susquehanna. It told and had photos of a crazy thing that happened where a huge hole opened up in the river and all the water was going into the ground . They put everything they could find into this hole for months. Dirt, rock , train cars by the dozens until it stoped. Have you heard about this?
Local lure says that those caves at the cove lead to Bube’s brewery in the town of Mount Joy which has limestone caves in the basement which are used to brew lager beer. Check out Bube’s, it’s an adventure in itself.
Sure was nice to hear the birds singing in this beautiful park. Never been there and didn't even know about it. Funny how little we know about places that aren't that far away from home. However WW, you show us what we're missing out on. Heard a Wood Thrush and a cardinal and another song I know but can't think of the bird. Funny how you forget until spring then it seems to come back to you as what you're hearing. Thanks Much! DaveyJO
So cool getting to watch the groundhog eating! Love when you go searching for caves. That was a beautiful park, and all those different bird sounds. Thanks for sharing!
Near the Vocational school there's a nother entrance to the cave . If you're looking towards the Creek area and keep walking your fine another cave on the ground it's very hard to find but it is in the tree line
Wow caves are everywhere. I have learned where there is limestone there will be sink holes like Florida. Limestone develops pockets in the earth making the earth very unstable. So where you are is limestone therefore the caves. Very interesting place you found. You have been all over the place. Be safe out there....
What a top video....I like to see that you will go on hikes even when the weather is less than perfect. The footage of what you called a "Ground-hog", looks surprisingly similar to our "Wombats" here in Australia. A pity you didn't find any caves with good access, but do you think those smaller ones would lead into a bigger cavern?
LOVE YOUR ADVENTURES TOO BAD ABOUT THE MAN THAT DIED IN THE CAVE. I AM SO HAPPY YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND IS CAREFUL. LOVE THE BIRDS SINGING, I COULD SIT THERE ALL DAY AND LISTEN TO THEM. YOU ARE THE GREATEST, I TOLD SEVERAL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR VEDIOS AS I THINK THEY ARE ALL SO VERY INTERESTING.
I remember as a kid my parents telling me someone just died there and warned me not to go there, I always wondered where it was in mountjoy, thanks, very interesting
Hey I was curious, where do you get your information on finding mines and caves around PA? I've lived in a couple places that have had mines nearby but never been able to find them. I'm always interested too because it's so neat to see the history and it's that mystery factor about what's hidong deep inside the earth. I used to live in Webster, PA, then Mt Pleasant and could never find the mines located near my 2 properties.
I wonder if Aquachigger would consider coming up to this area in the video. He's always doing cave exploration videos. Maybe you and he could do some metal detecting too cuz he's done videos on that too.

The woods are pretty and the caves are interesting.
19:20 mark.. I bet that long pass opens up.. what's overall height clearance at the mouth of the passage?

The ground hog looked like a capibara - well fed and no predators
At 20:14 after you crawl out of the first cave you went into, you have a big ass spider crawling up the back of your left shoulder lol
True. Not surprising, but true. lol
Ignorance is bliss....
love going with you.

Lots of online research. My subscribers also have been giving locations to go visit - one of the benefits of having this channel.

That would be interesting to do
I sent him a message on TH-cam with a link to your channel. Maybe the two of you could go re-explore the Lewis Cave.
ok, thanks
Need you a camera mount, I like the squeezing in these
Some places out my way if you want to head toward PGH No one I know want any parts of checking them out, and my ass don't wanna go solo LOL
I live in mount joy and ive been to this park
No many people come to this park. Most people go to kunkle down the road. Because it has a large playground for the kids.
Cardinal
Stay out and stay alive !!!
