This, and Tasca's Demise... after all these years. I went from a kid playing Guild Wars to now a 30 year old.. I still listen to these tunes. Something truly special ❤️
So many years ago, when i was borded with gvg, i would just get ppl to droknar's forge on thief first then dervish. No point in dweling in the past brother. Was beautiful, it's gone.
it might have to do that we got stuck there for a while so it's more engrained into out memory. I do remember vividly that I was stuck for a long time at Yak's bend and the following areas and this is also one of my favs of the soundtrack. Coincidence?
Masterpiece, heard it for the first time when I was exploring far shiverpeaks and got to the deldrimor war camp with the breathtaking view on sorrow's furnace - about 14 years later still coming back to this track from time to time.
30, still remembering this game, farming frags end ecto with a 55hp monk, going to hoh, teaming with the guild, arguing if balanced was better than iway.. omg i wish i could have more of those times.
Loved hearing this music as a Ranger ferrying people to Draknars Forge. Talus Chute always had this it was like the halfway pit stop. Not bad for 3K a person.
this takes me back to sitting down at the granite citadel and i didnt like gw2 until i heard this music playing as i was running thru the shiverpeaks and it was all like woah spine chills
@@ceol7643 Thank you for pointing that out. However, I listened back a couple of times to recordings of Vivaldi's Winter (violin and flute versions) and couldn't find a moment in any of the three movements that sounded exactly like any parts of this piece by Mr. Soule. Though I admit there are similarities, I cannot say that this is ''literally Vivaldi's Winter''. If you wanna point out to anything that demonstrate your claim, I'll gladly listen to it, because I sadly couldn't find it myself. Anyhow, I wish you a nice day and a happy new year!
Darn it, there was some other piece that always played in the mountains, and it doesn't seem to be here. What could it be..? It was a bit more soothing calming than even this one.. -- Edit : Ahah! It was Tasca's Demise. The more you know! So happy I found it..
For unknown reasons, a track for the catacombs and crystal desert in Prophecies, and a track for Kaineng city in Fractions are both missing from their respective soundtracks. wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Catacombs wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kaineng_City Check the trivia in the first, and the soundtrack section in the second.
oh my god, I litterally spent hours looking for the name of this track, focusing on GW2 soundtrack because I first heard it there... thank you... finally... now I can sleep lol
I never liked this song playing the game as I felt it was out of place, but as the game began to fade from memory I began to remember this song again, and that is what makes it special :)

Feel exactly the same.
Genuinely the two soundtracks I could always recall on the spot.
They have such a mesmerising sound.

Wow, core memory unlocked. I would ferry people from Ascalon to Crystal Desert.
The most underrated soundtrack of gaming history. Jeremy Soule is the best as well.
this is in Guild Wars 2 as well! one of my favorite pieces in the game :))
the best thing about this track.....in gw1, there was only a couple of maps where you could hear it.......espcially the map with the 15k armor
I love all of Jeremy Soule's music, but I still think GW was his greatest work.

A beautiful piece, Jeremy is master-class.
One of the most entrancing flute/violin pieces.
This has to be one of the most pleasant pieces of game I've ever heard.
this song makes me cry , the one reason i stayed in the zone so long
Very reminiscent of style of Bach, with a little touch Fauré/Debussy. It's hands down my favourite piece by Soule in GW prophecies.
It's literally Vivaldi's Winter

@@ceol7643 No it's not hahaha. I get there's a similar vibe to it, but it's nothing like it.

same with GW2 music, I cannot find some themes, one reminds me of FOW

beautiful
They better play this at my funeral
Any idea where the sheet music can be found for this piece? I play violin and would love to play this with my sister who plays the flute.
A bit late, but: th-cam.com/video/iv3byr0iLOM/w-d-xo.html
