    Ronnie must have been a really cool dude. He would be disappointed to see what's going on today in this country… everyone making enemies and hating each other; violence, etcetera. I think he would be sad to see that the freedom is becoming so restricted now. We should all listen to Ronnie!

    A glimpse into the softer side of Ronnie. Nice. For those of us who never knew the man personally, I think you can get the truest sense of the type of guy he was from Ed King. Ed is a stand up guy, and a straight shooter. Part of the reason Ed left the band in ‘75 was due to Ronnie’s ‘some time’ abuse, whilst drinking of course, but Ed loved and respected Ronnie and said in no uncertain terms he was a wonderful guy (without the booze) and a songwriting genius, which we all know. Pronounced and Second Helping were the first two albums I ever bought.

    • @Brucev7
      @Brucev7 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Ed said after Ronnie and Ed's guitar guy got out of jail right before a concert in MI, I think, and 2 of Ed's strings broke during the concert, Ronnie jumped all over him, then something clicked in him, and he said that's the last straw. He also said he was just a laid back Hippy from So California and didn't like all the fighting. I can understand that.

      It sure would have been amazing what he and of course the other great and late Steve Gaines done for Skynyrd if not for their terrible plane crash. From what I heard and read, Ronnie had plans to do a country album with his favorite singer Merle Haggard after he got back from doing the Survivors album tour and help produce Molly Hatchet's debut album in '78 but again the plane crash ended all of those plans. May he rest in peace though

      I think he would be happy he is still remembered as a legend and that his songs are still being played live 40 years later. RVZ to this day gets a lot of credit for LS's greatness as he should. The band members have always given him the credit and respect he deserves, what is there to feel bad about if they are making a living? Just because you feel bad about it doesn't mean RVZ would.

    The unique thing ive found about hearing this song a billion times and im not even sure he had this in mind. But, there are 2 leading guitars in the final solo. Sometimes they are playing the same notes in unison as if the bird is flapping their wings. And other times they are each doing their own relative guitar gymnastics as if the bird is doing beautiful areal accrobatics. Just a visual to the audio youre listening to...

    I’m building a guitar from wood from the Hell House original Dock, and foundation from Hell House, and incorporating metal from the plane. Once it’s complete we will loan it out to touring musicians so those timber’s will continue to sing and vibrate. LLLS.
    Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd.. if anybody knows Gary Rossington I’d love for him to sign it when complete, or donate a pick, or something I can incorporate into it. Tell him to hit me up...
