Where did u buy the coil?

Don't you need an insulation between the coil and the metal tube. Mine had something there but it disintegrated when I took it out. I think it's called a mich tube.

4 months too late but yes you need a Mica insulator. I just bought some Mica sheets on ebay sold as replacements for Hot Air stations. Otherwise you risk 220VAC or 120VAC shorting from the heating element to the metal tube on the outside. It may be grounded but I wouldnt trust it. Also the Mica sheet keeps the heat in the heating chamber and not radiating to the plastic casing of the tool.

I like how it doesn't use SMD components itself do you can repair it with a soldering iron if needed.
