    Thank you very much sir. I appreciate anybody who takes extra time and hassle during their modelling time to video it for us. This has been an excellent guide for me, and hopefully the M36 I have will look as nice! I believe it has a somewhat similar interior. Either way, this has been a great tutorial! Thank you!

      its the great kit Jeff ! the only thing I would say to watch out for, is the pin marks in the inner turret walls which I forgot to fill, other than that is great build with no issues

    Guess I should have watched the video a little longer! The question on flow improver still stands. Thanks again.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      so when it comes to flow improver and any thinning I do to be honest I tend to do it by eye a little but there is a few basic rules of thumb I use that might help answer your question:
      so for flow improver with Model Air paints, I tend only to put a few drops into the paint as it is pre-thinned, a rough ratio for Model Air to Improver would be 80% paint to Improver is a good place to start.
      For Model Color I tend to paint about 60%Impover to Paint as it is much thicker than model air

      the Lancaster or the kits Jack sent me ?
      Both are massive and both need a lot of work, but one day when I am better practiced with aircraft I shall get stuck into them!

    I believe the floor that can be seen down from the top of the turret would be green, you don't wan't white showing from above.

    How does it work to first paint and then put the model together? I am used to first build the parts like turret or hull and then paint it, because of filling seams and such things. Nice tutorial, especially the oilpaint inside the turret is something i will do on my Hellcat.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      it depends on the kit's fit, the tamiya kit has good kit on the turret halves but still has faint line visible, but it really done to you if you want to build and fill the turret and paint everything in place, it would be trickier as trying to get into details will be made difficult in places but an airbrush would help in this

    • @JazzJaRa
      @JazzJaRa 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well i have an Academy M18 Hellcat kit on which i would like to try that. Mostly i put the parts together and then paint them, but maybe i will try to essemble them after painting.
      Sometimes i am also worried that the glue might not really hold due to the colors.

    Great work shayne!!!
    What do you think about Tamiya M10 or AFV M10?
    What's your thoughts?

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never built the AFV club offering though as kits go the Tamiya kit will be the easier kit for the modeler and least seems to me to pretty accurate, I picked up Tamiya's M10 Achilles which is the same base kit with the 17pdr added

    I'm confused, you start off by saying a small amount of paint, if my eyes don't deceive me it looks like you are laying a super thick wet coat, and it looks like you have water in your line also.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  4 ปีที่แล้ว
