    This is where the lightening Bolt made the decision to become a true professional. He was a teenager(18 yrs old) running against men in the Olympics(2004 Athens) and sometimes you have to lose so you can learn how to win. Now he's the greatest of all time and a legend.

    • @Cbreeze59
      @Cbreeze59 6 ปีที่แล้ว +74

      True, because he was 21, four years later for the 2008 Beijing Olympics when he dominated and set a new world record of 19.30.

    • @Cbreeze59
      @Cbreeze59 6 ปีที่แล้ว +70

      I'm fully aware of his hamstring injury that affected his performance in the race. Bolt qualified to run in this Olympics because he was the World Junior Champion and record holder at 17yrs old with a time of 19.93 so he could have won it if it wasn't for his injury. He also gained valuable experience running against the older athletes.

    This video is so inspirational at so many levels.
    He didn't even came in the top 3, he finished 5th in this race and it was a Heat race and not even finals.
    He practiced,
    He changed his running style,
    He developed himself like crazy
    He made himself stronger
    And
    His perseverance,
    His consistency,
    His hardwork
    Not only did he win, but holds the current world record.

      The man was injured. What sets him apart is his genes. I say this because you can adjust your work ethic and mindset, but when everyone does it doesn't set you apart anymore. I don't think any olympic athlete is not doing all those things you mentioned above.

    • @YwaA-jf1hl
      @YwaA-jf1hl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes he did change his running style a bit and practiced loads but he was not at his healthiest for this Olympics as he had already clocked 20.13 prior to this Olympics at 200 so he could have medaled or been in the finals if he was healthy. Overall yes great nutrition and greater practice led him to his legendary status in latter years

      Bolt's 9.58 might actually be near the peak that any human can run 100m. The world record in 100m was beaten or matched almost yearly since the 60s and there's been nobody else, not even Usain Bolt himself, who's run below 9.69 since.

But really, all 3 of his major World Records are going to be tough to beat.....the 9.58 100m.....the 19.19 200m and that legendary 2012 4x100 Relay time of 36.84, no team has ever even broken the 37 second mark in the 4x100 lol.
