maybe Surefire should lower their prices to outsell clones that are of decent quality. Lets be honest, does anyone really think Surefire cant afford to lower their prices? How much does it really cost them per unit to produce?
They have military contracts. If they lower civilian prices, they'll have to lower military prices. It's illegal to sell to the government for more than civilian market price, so they design and price their products for those.
@@Prepared_Mindset_Podripping off the tax payer one contract at a time and so-called patriots swinging on their nutts!
@@Prepared_Mindset_Pod Do you really think that the government is paying the same per unit as civilians? Just like the SIG p320..... which I think the government is paying less than $200 per unit for. Thanks for your opinion...... but it was completely wasted since its irrelevant.
@ddazzla27 lol alright. Read the rest of the comments section. It's 100% the reason, not an opinion.
@@Prepared_Mindset_Pod 100%
Surefire's prices are way too high for civilian use. $350 for a light on a $700 AR-15 - NAH!
Same with Modlite and Cloud Defensive. These light companies be out of their minds. I’ll stick to Streamlight 😂
What's a 700$ AR? Is that even a real thing lol.
@@davet3659Streamlight used to be the same and then they moved all production to china for slave labor
Right, I just go get a few 7$ expandable beam leds from harbour freight. Fits my light holder, and my thumb can hit the button effectively. Means I have more $ for ammo and gas (to go get ammo)
@@TheBmwDriverM3yeah its a thing, you aint ever heard of palmetto state armory? Most of their ar platforms are in that range or cheaper.
When did we normalize $400 flashlights? I’d get it if the Surefire is $200 max, but $400 is just daylight robbery. I like Made in USA stuff, but the price ain’t right.
This!!!
The cost of production in the USA is higher than most countries, but I agree, $400 for a flashlight is silly. I can buy 10 of these knock-offs and batteries for about the same price as a SureFire with no batteries. LOL
Difference between American Craftsmen and slave labor ... one is made out of really good materials the other isn't
Agreed 👌
How do you feel about the other being slave made
Did surefire invent the flashlight? Its a fucking flashlight 400 dollars? They're robbing your ass for that price.
I agree with you he acting like the lights are only like $100 or $200
Damn reliable flashlights. Everyone has their preference, some like cheap lights, some like better made lights. That’s what’s great about our country right? You get to choose which one you want….
@@MrSoonermadmansurefire's dual fuel has problems with batteries causing flickering according to many amazon reviews.
@@dbchillin7747own 6 surefire lights, 2 dual feuls only time it flickers is when i dont push the pressure pad hard enough😭
“I can get lake water for free why buy bottled water not like they invented water” Sorry man but i think your logic robbed your braincells😭
I think people need to be realistic about what they are actually doing with their guns too. Surefire is great for Spec ops dudes and stuff. But the average person isnt jumping out of planes or shooting at people 300 yards away. A streamlight is more than good enough.
A range buddy who works in LE had a knockoff Surefire with tail cap from EBay on his patrol rifle for 6 years by accident. He won a bid for just under $200. It wasn’t until someone bought an Amazon for $40 and they compared and he realized his was fake. He shot thousands of rounds with the fake light on range days, training classes and certifications. He said he never had a flicker. He emailed Surefire and they confirmed his was fake. They gave him a good deal on a real one so he switched it out. He put it on his sons 15/22 and it still works but you can really tell in brightness. But it’s close to the stream light 600 watt. Not a fan of the knockoff market of American companies but for people just getting into firearms it wouldn’t be a bad light to train with while saving for the real deal.
Streamlight 600 watt???? Lol they are not 600 watt lights....
If you look and ask sellers you can actually get the clones with the “brand name” on them.
Sad thing is that a lot of clones are starting to outperform the real thing.....
@@ddazzla27 could also be good depending on how you look at it. Kinda like PSAs motto of “freedom over profit”
@@ddazzla27I wish I could come across some that good. I have a few clones and comparing them to their counterparts their great but I can always find flaws. I’ve yet to come across one that truly outperforms.
Do you know of any I can try? A lot of the ACOG clones can be dang good but they have so many now it’s hard to decipher. I got one a couple years ago that is by far the closest clone item I have all around. I bought two more from the same seller about 6 months later. One was the exact same as the first one I received and the other was very cheaply made. I was told it was from a new production batch and returned it.
A couple of us bought these off eBay just to mess around on the range with to see how bad they actually were and all of us were very surprised. The only issue we saw with these was the mounting screw for the pic rail mount would not stay tight. We were throwing the lights around banging them against trees, 2x4 barricades and I threw mine against the concrete parking lot a few times trying to get them to fail and they would not. We went to the hardware store and replaced pic rail screws and they have not come loose yet. I own surefire and streamlight and I have to say I am pretty impressed with these and the abuse they have taken.
Feyachi weapon light is also phenomenal with a phenomenal mount.
Second that!
No… its not.. when i first got into guns i got one because i didnt know anything about guns really, its actually on one of my first vids on youtube. I went from a poverty warrior to what id say is gold standard for a gun owner maybe a little higher but you get the point. I had put my Feyachi light in storage for a couple years and it just took a 💩 on me, changed batteries and the light is still very dim and the switch barely works. That lights done for, just from storage time. I only buy surefire, modlite, arisaka, and streamlight.
@@vietnamtactical I have the Feyachi 1200 lumen light on my airsoft rifle simply because its just airsoft and im not spending money on name brand stuff for it. However, its been banged around a ton. Dropped on concrete and in the dirt. The lens was shot out at point blank range. Still keeps ticking. The tape switch mount is probably the best design ive seen compared to surefire or streamlight ( i have both). Theres a higher possibility of these lights failing like yours did but I would say to anyone a cheaper light is better than no light.
Aaah. Yachi weapon lights. I too had one Lol.
@dirtycommtroop Yeah the wiring on the inside of my Feyachi came unsoldered after only a few hundred rounds. I fixed it and it still works, but I wouldn't trust it on my weapon AT ALL.
I totally understand what you said about not supporting companies that rip off designs. But I also think Surefire's demographic is for professionals and government based on price. I am not in their demographic and although I would use a weapon light for home defense, the rip offs will get you by. Great review and comparison.
Makes me feel like we are gettingscammed by big companies
we are. Chinese clones are worse than originals, 8 times worse...? I don't think so
Like the GBRS groups $450 riser. I found the knock off for $40 before the GBRS groups riser was released to the public. That told me that it must've been made in China and branded for them. I won't support crap light this. Streamlight makes a great light for 1/4 the price anyway.
FACT THE FURNITURE IS ALWAYS has cheaper and better alternatives out there you just have to look for them
They charge what people are willing to pay. This can be a lot if there is minimal competition in the market. China's complete disregard for other nation's intellectual property is disgusting. Ofc our president does nothing about it. No one is entitled to a cheap and awesome flashlight.
Do a fake amazon acog vs trijicon acog.
I had a fake Trijicon on my first rifle and it didn’t last through my range session. That was more than 10 years ago so the knockoffs might be better now. Didn’t pay a lot for it so I didn’t care.
@@gtrscort1 No they are just as bad. Had one last 30 rounds. The ones they are selling are technically airsoft sights, so they aren't rated for real firearm recoil.
Sights are the one thing you really gotta at least pay the piper for if you want something clear and reliable. Lights.... Are just lights.
I have one that I slapped on a Tippmann M4-22 and it has worked just fine. But it's a .22lr lol.
I have a eotech clone from the best manufacturer not on Amazon it even has functioning night vision
@@Big_Bruv_Innit Tell me you don't shoot your firearms without actually telling me you don't shoot your firearms.
I have to agree I do not like supporting knockoff companies either. However being that I am a poor with a very small and limited expenditure I would gladly buy the knockoff being that it works that well.
I appreciate your time and honesty.
For that price I could buy that light for the body and just use arisaka lenses and button cap .
But you'll have weak aluminum mounted to your rifle, maybe a drop will snap off the mount in a real serious situation
@@tizbenyou can swap out the mount, you can use any scout mount.
Ok so that is a good idea
@@tizbenI agree I just got mine lol. It’s not holding up very long.
The problem is finding the Arsiaka lenses and button cap for sale. Almost impossible to find in stock.
Love the first defense hoodie in the beginning
US Patent law limits a company to 7 years of exclusivity (to encourage market competitionamd limit monopolies). After that, anyone can make that product. If surefire isn't innovating then that's their fault.
China and their slave labor doesn't care about those patent laws
I've had this exact light for over a year and LOVE it on my M&P 15-22. It's best use is on a training rifle as I see it.
I run that same SI forward grip, I love it. You have it on backwards. The notch is a barricade stop so you can push into a barricade.
It can be ran either way...in another video he explained why he prefers it that way..
The only reason surefire costs that much is because of the us gov contract. They mark the price up for civilians because they have to sell it cheaper to the gov. So if they raise the consumer price to $400, they can still make bank selling it to the gov for like $200. I use knock off surefires on a lot of my rifles and never had any problems with them.
Can you fit the surefire dual fail switch assembly on the back of the amazon version of the light?
Right? surefire is great and all, but it's not $345 dollars great.
Learned a lesson on these, lol. None detachable pig tail switches are a NOGO, but the scout light clones actually work very well also there parts are interchangeable. Who's to say there not the same😂Actually changed the mounts and all
Ordered one of these for my AR22 build… perfect price for a gun with literally no recoil.
You’re paying for the name. Surefire struck gold with their stupid lasers they sold to LA SWAT in the 80s.
It’s good quality. But there’s flashlights just as powerful and arguably as durable for much less money.
Noice bcm/aeroson . I have 2 bcm/m4e1’s. Always wanted to put the bcm quad rail on my 16in fixed sight post mlok rail upper. But i actually went with the mid length upper so I’d have more room on the rail and shoots a little smoother but it’s still reliable with weak ammo.
I have a hand full and for the price I was very impressed. All of them are still mounted and function.
I picked up this from Wish. I picked up a knock off thorntail and some other light gear to total $71. Looks like I have over $600 in light gear but it’s not.
I have several of those lights and they work real well!
What batteries?
Im sold! Thanks
I got 2 of the Scout lights. They even have the Surefire markings. It’s been over 2 years now and I am completely happy with them! Only I paid $25 each.
One is on a “truck gun” that gets tossed around and beat up pretty bad driving around the farm.
What battery does it take
@@the.odd.society CR123
I got one of the fake x300Us for an airsoft training pistol back in 2020 to cut down on ammo costs. Last year I picked up a real x300U for actual use and was disappointed in how similarly they feel and perform.
I bought 4 surefire lights from Amazon. Actually runs great for my rifles. I also bought some streamlight pistol lights and I’m amazed.
I noticed there's also a replica Cloud Rein out there for around $70 with the switch. One place on Ali will even put the CD markings on it. Please test these!
For rifle lgihts, I have switched to Modlite for over a year, a bit more expensive than SF, but I am pretty happy with Modlite. I only keep using X300 both ultra and turbo on pistols as they are well fit with safariland & Gcode holsters
I've had one on my set up for over 2 years and it's only loosen up. I'll just say it's not battle tested but neither am I 😂 for home defense it's great! Spend your money on training and ammo!
The surefire seems to have more seals for waterproofing, among other noticeable differences. For my light-duty uses, the cheap light seems adequate. I mounted streamlight tlr1s on my G19X and G20, but I carry them a lot more frequently than my long guns. Blessings
What surefire light is this compared too? I’m having trouble finding the exact model.
Do some drop tests between the 2. Genuinely curious if it would survive some drops.
Feyachi has seriously surprised me. I've been running their flashlights on my guns with no issues. They are super bright.
I don't know if you know this, but...... your river is up!!! I love cloud defensive they are really good for the price!!
Truglo pr-3 is a 3x32 prism that looks awefully similar to say the swampfox trihawk 3x prism would be interesting to see how the cheap one holda up compared to the swampfox
What gun were you using the Amazon light on? Just curious.
I bought this same fake light but mine came with SF logos, I have been running on my AR about 500 rounds. Only issue I had is the screw gets loose I added some lock tight and had zero issues since.
I found a good weapon light on amazon for around $40 from a company called toughsoul and its like 1200 lumens and actually has worked pretty well have had on my one rifle for like two or three years
I'm not saying I'm buying this light but I really appreciate an honest assessment of an off brand piece of gear. Thank you for this and please keep them coming.
Absolutely. I plan on doing more videos like this!
Maybe it’s a good option for a training set up or a loaner
it's Wadsn M300 M300a..
no brand marks but there is an option where you can choose what branding you like if Surefire or Wadsn & they will put it on😁
I’ll replace my Feyachi light when it fails. Might be a while. 3+ years and counting so far. Left it on for an hour to see how hot it gets - practically cool to the touch. The mount kinda sucks, but it works.
I wonder if surefire bring based in California has something to do with pricing. I’m sure they have to pay high wages to keep employees with cost of living and I’m guessing they get taxed a lot. I’m sure they could lower prices a little bit I wonder how much.
I bought 2 of these a while back. Threw the heads and tail switches away and replaced with Arisaka and Malkhoff parts. The bodies are definitely worth the 35 bucks.
Would you go for this over an Olight?
I used to get SureFire lights and Leatherman/Gerber multi-tools issued to me on each deployment. Then our shop would give out them to keep in our toolboxes. At one point I had a drawer full of flashlights and multi-tools. I can't get over the cost of Surefires and its competitors. I know when it comes to Government contracts, the other brands want to be less expensive than SureFires, yet they want to make as much money as they can.
I added a couple drops of threadloc to the threads and tightened the knob down. I haven't fired it yet, so we'll see if the mount needs to be tightened more.
Well that explains the cost of surefires. They have a govt contract lol.
I like the First Defense sweatshirt I've trained with Mark multiple times
Hes a great guy and a great instructor!
Tacticon armament Battletorch series are great lights and super affordable. Are they as bright as Surefire lights? No. But they come with everything you need and for Home defense they work great. I can see having one Surefire light on my main rifle, but seeing some of these guys running $400+ lights on every single weapon they own is ridiculous. I honestly think if Olight took some recommendations from the firearm community and fixed some issues on endcaps and mounts they could make an amazing weapon light that would put pressure on Surefire and Streamlight. A light system should not cost $400, our government is getting ripped off and thus the citizens of this country are getting ripped off as well.
Just run a streamlight PROTAC HL with the surefire pressure switch and the asrisaka tail cap, both are IPX 7 water resistant rating, ive killed a surefire, ive never killed a stream light. I own 2 different surefire lights. But my rifles run streamlight's with the surefire pressure switch and the arisaka tail cap. Nice vid.
I've killed both before, a surefire and a streamlight. I think ultimately anything can be broken in certain situations. But breaking a streamlight doesn't break the wallet as much then breaking a surefire. 😂
@@marcusd3212Absolutely, anything can be killed. I've run my stream lights as hard as I possibly can. My Surefire died on me overseas while working. Was it old , absolutely, was it beat to pieces, absolutely, I switched to a stream light while working across the water and it lasted me for an 8 month cycle. That same stream light is in my safe put up and it still fires to this day.
@@Diceman12100 ah yes this is awesome! Nothing better then finding a product that works great for ya. Even when ya retire it from duty it keeps kicking!
Can you do real or rip off optic mounts! While yes i understand that a design was created by a us company. Does a block of aluminum with cuts in it really cost 80$+ ?
I have two knock off SF M600DF. One mounted on an (real) arisaka mount and another on a monstrum scout mount. They both have been outstanding! Then again, I’m just a weekend range guy who LARPs sometimes. Lol. I’m not LE or Mil. So not jumping out of planes, going on missions or anything of that nature. I refuse to pay $400 for a light when I can get a clone M600 DF for about $40-50 thats has held up to hundreds of rounds in dirt, wind, rain, plinking, hot ass desert temps and rifle/pistol courses and night range sessions.
I run Surefire on my duty rifles, although they are pricey. I don’t trust a knockoff for that particular job, but I have bought 2 of the knockoff surefire lights for my Jakl and Diamondback which are just range toys. So far the knockoffs are pretty good, but like you said, they are not as bright. I believe they are only 400 lumens, but so far they run pretty well.
Surefire has had issues with their DF series of lights too. They flicker, and dim with the rechargeable batteries. Tons of people on reddit have run into it including me. Sent mine in and they "repaired" mine but didnt say what they fixed. Figured out its a new head with a new contact where the head contacts the battery. No more flicker but it STILL limits brightness. Definitely not the 1500 lumens advertised. Turns out the surefire tape switches cannot provide the current needed. Surefire is quiet about this. Arisaka website states that SF tape switches do limit output. I will go modlite going forward.
I run a clone sure fire light for my Airsoft 10.5 m4 and I love it, definitely gets the job done/ it is fde and has sure fire branding so big plus for me 👍

I baught 4 about 10 years ago off Alibaba, one has over 4k rounds though it. They were $30 back then to. Havnt had a single one break but ive always used loktite on any of my parts.
I bought a few for my 22s and one had a sticker on it took the sticker off and the Surefire logo was under it.
So what your saying is it had a different name sticker over surefire name? Is it a sure fire body or something?

I have a TON of lights. Olight, nitecore, fenix, basically every brand you can find on flashlight websites like battery junction. They’re advanced, bright, cheap in price in comparison, etc. HOWEVER…if I had to grab one light in a life or death scenario? I’d grab a Streamlight or a Surefire. They really won’t fail you when it’s a life and death situation. They’re the choice of military and police for a reason.
Thanks for the video. I have an old 10.5 bcm build with a cmmg 22lr conversion kit i use for shooting toads and raccoons (when they're trying to get into the chicken coup) down here in south Florida. I've had a cheap streamlight hlx on there but i just bought a light through your link. I know it's a knock-off but I'm pumped to try it on my "chicken coup defender" build 😂
I think this light will be perfect for that specific build. I hope it works great for you!
Thanks. I'm sure it will be just fine. I picked up the streamlight hlx/CD lcs combo when cloud had them listed on their site(cerakoted in different colors). I got it in the lords color, ODG, so I'll throw it on an odg aero build
What is that type of tape? If you could plz provide so I can buy it. Thx for sharing the light, I ordered it.
It is called goon tape
What is that optic mount on his rifles?
Hi, does anyone have a link for which one this is? Been looking for a budget light, this looks like it fits the bill.
Its in the description
Just got this knock off and the build quality seems legit enough. What kind of battery does it take the cr123 is too wide. Does it take "aa" batteries??
You’re probably putting the battery in the wrong end. Try unscrewing the other side of the light.
Ive had this for a while now decent light very well built. A streamlight stinger was my daily for ten years as a mechanic. The price is not very fun though. I only replaced it once because it was stolen from my garage.
Fits the polymer m lok pressure switch mount perfectly
Just tape a surefire g2x to all your extra gats 🤷♂

Gun vault room wow must be nice to have the infinite money perk. Some of us don't have dumb money or multiple weapons to choose from for "options". Great video review other wise, although mic quality was bad bad when you 1st appeared outside.
what MLOK rail is that? SLR?
I have a bunch of these. Only thing that breaks is the lense. Sooo go to hobby lobby and have them cut you a piece of high tempered glass. And then your good to go
It comes down to.....do i buy 8 surefires for all my rifles ($2700).......OR Like 12 knockoffs... (Have a couple of backups)
Or buy a couple Surefires for your primary weapons then the rest with the knockoffs
People talk 💩 about olight because 1 person had a user error that made it explode but for the price 😮💨 they just need to come out with a smaller pressure switch
I can’t justify spending Surefire money when you can get a Streamlight that’s equally as good for 1/3 the price
thank you for this. numerous videos have already been posted and i’m confident that what i got will hopefully last (also knockoffs). but if i was a professional i would definitely buy the real thing. my life literally would depend on it.
if someone would do a price comparison of the guns and accessories in the USA and Philippines you guys would be very surprised on how expensive legit tactical gear here is. it’s crazy i’m telling you. I’m from the Philippines
I personally wouldn't support knock-offs, but I think if you're into airsoft and you just want something cheap that looks like the real thing and doesn't cost an absurd amount more than the airsoft gun and doesn't need to stand up to the recoil of a real firearm, cheap lights and red dots that look like the real thing might be a more feasible option.
As a surefire collector for the white light/ ir lights the best way to tell is the reflector is offset a bit the fakes don't do that
I just bought one of these and its worth the money
What light is that?
i use a $70 light off of amazon its pretty good and it takes the blast from my comp
I wonder how they'd go with 12G recoil?
I’ve had good luck with surefire, olight, streamlight. Honestly don’t see any quality difference between them. I think streamlight is a rock solid light for a reasonable price. My surefires are older, and I would never pay what they want for them now.
I paid $80 for a angled fore grip light that came with a laser and its USB C rechargeable. Ain't no way on God's green earth I'll pay more than $100 for a flashlight.
I have both. Fake x300 and scout as well as real x300 and scout. Bruh the fake ones have yet to break or stop working. Have a bunch of rounds and use through them and for like 50 bucks they are worth it
Anybody have a clue what battery this takes? I ordered one and cr123's don't fit... AA won't either..
Did you figure out the battery type?
The money you save buying that light, you can buy a real SF tail cap, mount or tape swith or Night Force
I'll take my $15 Walmart. Flashlight, and some electrical take any day lol
Realistically. They are probably the same exact light with some special requirements for the surefire branded ones. Welcome to America.
i couldnt disagree more about brands that undercut with similar designs at a lower price point, assuming its of comparable quality to its competition at a more sustainable price I will 100% support that biggest one that comes to mind is my griffin armament GSMR which is a "knock off" of the aimpoint acro platform, coming in at $200 instead of the outrageous $600 that the aimpoints start at these large firearms accessories and manufactures have gotten full of themselves and need to get checked and held accountable to a consumer level at some degree, one example I'd like to see is from sig, they do it with their tango LPVO's where they sell their military options at a more extreme price and civ versions at much more reasonable costs with the appropriate differences
I already over paid on my gun and ammo so I'm going with the knock off to save a couple hundred bucks to buy some over priced groceries
However, good comparison
I couldn’t bring myself to spend 300+ on a gd flashlight. It’s a flashlight that’s insane
I also don’t like spending more money on over priced products.
but will it smoothie ?
