    This is so cool to see born and raised on a farm and ranch in western North Dakota both my wife’s and my grandparents were both in dairy but sadly as many dairy operations shut down in the 90’s we were never really part of the dairy side. So incredibly cool to see such a “young and new” dairy operation of your size coming to North Dakota you’ve got our support we’d love to come and show support and check everything out one day here soon!!!

    Greetings Piet! I am actively following 7 other TH-cam Farm channels and 1 concrete pouring business daily, and a few other channels some now and then beside that. Now I have to add this channel also making it 8. I am almost running out of time to watch them all haha. Great to be here from the beginning, just like I was there with the beginning of the farm. Curious to see what next contents you are going to treat us with and how the channel will grow. I know how enthusiastic your whole family is with the business and taking the community in the joys of farming. Great to see this now also expanding to people far far away that can learn so much from the video's. Greetings to your mom and dad. Question, are you still using the sand separator? Maybe make some video about this in the future. ps, maybe find a way to see how you can steady the camera a bit more. It can get a bit shaky too much at times you almost start to feel motion sickness coming up ghehe.

    • @pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047
      @pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have the same problem Erwin, there are many good channels and only so much time! We do still have the sand separator, I agree that would make a good video. Watch for that one in the future! Taryn also told me to be more steady with the camera, I'll work on that. I'm learning every day haha, thanks for the feedback!

    Hello Piet, Just came across your channel. When I was in College (1997) I did a work abroad exchange program in the Netherlands. I worked on a dairy in Swifterbant in Flevoland. Pieter Zonneveld was the dairyman I worked for. I remember when I was there, their were a lot of Dutch dairymen moving to Canada. I guess you were one of them. Where was your Families dairy in the Netherlands?

    What is the business outlook there in USA? In Australia recently, the news said this, Australia is set to produce its lowest amount of milk in 30 years, sending the price of dairy products to record highs. The dairy industry has now shrunk so much Australians can barely afford their own local products. and, In 1980, 20,000 Australians made money milking cows back. Today, fewer than 4000 are left. but not how many farms are operating, I assume the number is down accordingly as herd size and milking capacity increased.

    • @pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047
      @pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Milk price is right, its been very up and down the last few years. Exports are down because the US dollar is high valued but domestic consumption is good. I think it's a similar situation for dairy everywhere in the world, similar amount of cows milked on fewer farms.
