TITANX PROPEL 12.5: On the Water Review in 4K

  • I have been looking at different kayaks to jump into after deciding to leave the Hobie platform. Keep in mind, I've fished Hobie for many years now, and will still keep my outback for what it excels at - rivers and sneaky launches.
    My buddy let me take his TitanX Propel 12.5 for a spin to see if it would be a kayak that I would spend the cash on. I was very impressed with the platform and compare it to my experience in the PA14 180 and the Outback.
    I hope you enjoy my honest opinion!

    One of the, if not the, best on the water reviews of a kayak I have seen. Thank you for your thoughts on this kayak. You just earned a subscriber.

    Great video and really nice to see such a detailed perspective on the fishing side of things not just going through the kayak features. Caution your friend on using the front handle to pull the kayak, there have been reported issues with the handle ripping out when used for pulling horizontally, the two bolts are not enough for the size of the boat.

    Thank you sir for showing this detailed review of this kayak. I’ve watched many walkthrough reviews of kayaks, but you took it to another level by actually showing it to us in the water! Tight lines and take care God bless!

    I drive left handed..I steer my Nucanoe left handed..(just got the TitanX 10.5)but I’m right handed…so it works for me

      Love to hear it! I’m sure it’s not too hard to retrain, right?

  • @davegarcia3822
    @davegarcia3822 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I think the left-hand steer is because most anglers are right-handed. I think its just easier to steer while holding the rod in the casting hand. There's no switching hands.

    • @a2angler273
      @a2angler273  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah. I completely understand that. Just interesting that hobie has the dual steering and opens themselves to a larger market with such a small detail. Like I said, for me being a right hand retriever, I’ll just learn to switch hands quickly. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

      @a2angler273 It may be something they consider after angler feedback. Let hope they make the change in the coming years. I really enjoyed your review. It was something I have been waiting for. It definitely helped make my buying my first fishing kayak easier

    if you get the rudder at the correct angle, you can slowly backpedal and skate the shoreline.

    • @a2angler273

    Very good review. Thanks. Interesting, the difference in the way we fish. I’m profoundly left handed, but reel with my right hand. I need to steer with my right and rod stage on the left. I’m not interested in retraining. Native makes no provision for switching the steering to starboard so they leave me out. Seems like a serious engineering design fault on Native’s part to ignore 12% of the population. I’ll have to stick with Hobie and Wilderness.

      @a2angler273  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Well said. I was curious why they didn’t go with dual steering. Maybe that’s patented or something, but definitely curbs the market for some people!

      I thought that about Hobie then I saw influencers with $3000 just in Lithium batteries (two trolling motor batts) in their NuCanoe (U10?) or other cheaper brand fishing kayaks. A geared up kayak and they are worried about finding the least expensive, but still capable, hull?
