Powell Park is under new management/owners. My wife and I stopped in there to see for ourselves. New cabins are under construction, remodels to the boat slips and other facilities. We met Seth who is running the show and is very approachable. Nice to see.

Thanks for the good info. I've always wanted to try fishing up in Buck bay, looks like a good early spawn area because the cove is going straight north

First off thanks for all the informative videos. Im new to fishing rayburn and trying to learn everything i can. I plugged in those coordinates and one of them was on east bank and the other was out in the middle of the entrance going into buck bay. Ive heard horror stories about Ayish and dont want to tear up my boat. But i want to fish new areas. I have fished quite a few coves between farmers and five fingers. Any suggestions?

I am about to come to Sam Rayburn for the first time for a tournament. I don’t know if I can take any info on fishing but I was wondering if you have anything to download for navigational purposes.

So can you pretty much go in the back of any of the big creeks in the summer and catch fish shallow?

Hey Ken do you have a link or a website where I can find those boat lanes you talked about and do they have any for the upper end of the main lake

I have a Tracker 175 TXW boat, 17'7", is my boat too small to fish Rayburn?

Hey Fork Lunker Man....the answer is no, and yes. Rayburn is big and it can get ugly. But, assuming our ramps open back up, you can put in lots of places and stay out of the wind. Probably the best would be the Caney ramp, its protected and there are several thousand acres there to fish if there’s not a big north wind. If there is, you could put in at Jackson HIll and fish up that arm, or Shirley Creek, or down south Mill Creek and fish up the Easley arm. You can also put in up in the river and you are actually probably better off up there in a small boat vs a big one. That ramp is called Marion’s Ferry, again it’s closed right now, but when it reopens fun fishing up that way

I fished out of a 1995 Bass Tracker Tournament 17 through my early 20’s. It can be done and you can catch a lot of fish, but I will caution you that if you get caught in a storm or in bad wind head for cover or to the nearest boat ramp. I was pre-fishing for a tournament in 2010 and put in at the Caney Creek ramp. Mid-morning I decided to shoot across the lake to Veach and check the fishing. A storm blew in on me and I wasn’t expecting it. Instead of finding cover and riding it out I tried to push back across the lake to Caney. Less than midway across I realized I was taking on way more water than my bilge could pump out and finally decided to turn around and ride the waves to the nearest bank. I ended up “sinking” my boat on the shoreline near Coleman and had to walk to a nearby neighborhood to use a phone because there was no cell service. I had to leave my boat over night with waves crashing into it and return the next day with a gas powered pump and buddy who could tow me in. Thankfully my boat was fine and ran great after that, but that proved to me how nasty things can get in a hurry and on Rayburn 10-15 mph winds coming down the pipe can be a lot more dangerous than smaller lakes. P.S. I still fished the tournament but didn’t go far from launch.

I think it’s just the Hot Spots map I got at academy. I’ll be down at bass strike tackle in Zavalla in a minute and I’ll confirm
