Midge’s do not bite, they urinate on us & it a reaction that gives us the itch. As 75 + year old Vaners who have been travelling for over 45 years we have found different things work for different people. We found that an oily skin preparation, to block their pee getting to our skin, we liked baby oil, or “skin so soft” worked for us. We used dettol to wash the bites which cleaned the skin and disinfected the area. Good luck 10:3710:37
I know what you should have done, freaking tyre pressures, down to 12PSI on the car and say 18 on the van and would have popped out so easy. Saved damaging your max tracks and the track.
Yeah we love it when tourists chop up our tracks towing their caravans into places where caravans shouldn't be....but yeah you know...as long as you get your TH-cam views!
I love you guys, but seriously Jake, let your tyres down from the get go when you're in the soft stuff! Like, you do this (get bogged) regularly. I know it's a PITA but think how much time it would save you. Anyway, rant over. Keep up the good stuff!

Hey guys. I ended up putting little bungees like on an old school Ute tonneau cover on my fold out table. It means you can flip it up and not have to worry about the key all the time. It’s worked for me for about 10 years now 😊 And now I’m forever traumatised over that toe injury 🥹

You know the mistake you made. Your car worked too hard, your mate did all the work and that track was dug up. Tyre pressures every time. I'll keep watching and hope you do it right next time.
What I found best for mig bite is telfast and keri aloe cream from chemist warehouse And alot of going to pool beach, soaking your bites, it seems to work

Another tip for your windows. While you are in the Darwin area got AUTOSMART NT in Darwin and purchase an aerosol called STARDUST. it will polish the windows leaving a coating , crystal clear and take out the scratches.
Midge bites, Seriously here , mix equal parts of Baby oil and Dettol together in a spray bottle guys, Spray over exposed skin. The Dettol soothes any bites and baby oil helps the coverage, believe it or not it works a treat and is our goto up here in the NT especially when camping in midgee areas or fishing in a boat in mangroves. Try it you wont be dissapointed guys.

First, bead lock rims are illegal on the road. So have a look at Tyler Thompson dad build. Put inner bead locks in. You now can basically lower your tyres to nearly zero. If you see Ronny Dahli's video, he changed tyre pressures. From max to bare min when bogged, and he found out that it stopped him wasting time.
I've been thinking of getting Beadlocks for my rims, now l'm not so sure, as l never knew that they are illegal, when driving on public roads. Begs the question as to why?
To stop the itching press a fingernail into the middle of a bite until it starts to hurt. Get some anti itching cream from the chemist, if you ask they will know what you need. Up there you really need one of those screen tents or just stay in the van. I hope ALL openings have fly wire on them, even fridge vents. If they get in at night you are stuffed. You probably know all this already but just in case ya don't...
Yeah, I ended up finding some cream that I absolutely love! But I remember doing that as a kid. 😂 Sometimes you’re right though, better to just go inside. 😅

No idea? We didn’t have any trouble at all camping out there! 🙌🏼 As for microphones, we usually just use our phones unless we’re filming for something in particular. That way we find it’s more authenticity us, in the moment. Sometimes scrambling to put on specific microphones takes up so much time. Our videos aren’t perfect but we are so happy keeping it simple! 🤍

Dettol, baby oil and metho for the midgees. Also superglue for Jake’s toe number 1 thing to keep in your first aid kit.
