Hello, Thank you for your lovely comment! We spent a day in Hallstatt, we woke up around 15:00 and got the first Train from Vienna to Hallstatt so we could maximise our time and got last train back ☺️ Hotels can be expensive in Hallstatt so recommend checking if it fits your budget!
I want to go to Hallstatt in October (1 day plan with return) but the fare is high (2 adults and 1 child under 2 years) on OBB from Vienna. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you for your video, just on time as I'm considering the same trip. I actually have some questions, first, is the 9 minute change in Attnang Puchheim doable? I'm afraid that changing platforms and finding the right one would take me much time. Second, would you please share the name of the app you booked your tickets through?
Hello, You’re very welcome and we are so happy to hear you are visiting Hallstatt soon! We booked our tickets online using WestBahn app for half the journey and SBB for the other half or you could use Trainline as well! 9 minutes change over is absolutely do able! If you are looking for things to do then here is a link to the app we use to book activities! Hi Good detailed info. Planning a visit to the Vienna area and spend about 7-8 days in July 24., before heading to Interlaken. Since your Vlog mentioned you lived in Vienna asking you for guidance on places to visit with a base in that area (flexible) and get the most doing day trips. Definitely would like to visit Hallstadtt, Salsburg. We are flexible with the stay What would be your recommendation. Greatly appreciate in Advance.
Hello, Thank you for your lovely comment. One of the main reasons we chose Vienna as a base is because of affordability and also good transport connections. We were very surprised with how much it had to offer. There are so many free things to do in Austria. Watch our video on it and you will get lots of ideas. We recommend visiting Budapest in Hungary or Prague in Czech if you have time. You can get direct trains here ☺️
@@TandAJAdventures - Our typical trip is 3 weeks duration and Switzerland was a MUST do this year. Since 3 weeks was too long for Swiss, combining Austria and Swiss. Arriving into Austria and leaving out of Zurich. Did think about Prague, Budapest etc being close to Vienna. That will be for the next one when we get a good flight deal. After being in US for so long love Europe and want to buy a condo in Spain / affordable place so can use it as a base and travel Europe rather than flying every time. Thanks again for your videos and they are very helpful for planning.
Hello, Thank you for your lovely comment! We booked on the day and got tickets from entrance office. We got them a bit cheaper due to some discount. I think it was student discount as we visited with our brother who is in college! ☺️
Hi ,reallly helpful information..Nice captures of the moments.. pls share some information about the drone..and also the camera u used..the video clarity is amazing.
I think the bus takes longer. I would go with train so you can spend more time at Hallstatt whereas in the bus you would spend more time in bus and less in Hallstatt unless you are planning on staying the night there in which case I would take bus to save money ☺️ Hope that helps?
That makes sense! Thanks for the tips and for the awesome video! Showed it to my husband tonight, and now we're so excited to go to Hallstatt! @@TandAJAdventures
Hi, I really liked your video, I am planning to go to hallsttat as solo trip and i would like to rent a boat, but you really scared me with the snake😬 is it an electrical boat? Easy to manage? Thanks in advance
Hello, I am sorry to scare you. I am terrified of snakes. However, we didn’t see one when we first visited and the lake was busy. Also, we came really far out this time round like really as we hired the boat for two hours and we saw the snake in the bit we didn’t ride the boat last time so if you hire the boat for one hour it should be fine. Also yes the boats are electric ☺️
Great video. When you reach train station at Hallstatt, how do you go to ferry/lake you showed in the video. Planning to go at end of this Oct. Thank again.
Thank you, the boat/ferry pick up and drop off is behind the train station only 1 minute walk. You will see everyone walking in this direction and there are lots of signs
Hello! I have a question, If i go on december (20) the ferry for cross the lake is closed by the snow? And Can I take the boat in december? Please can u answer me? Thank u!!
Hello, unfortunately we are not from Austria and we visited in summer both times so unsure about December. However what we do know is you can reach Hallstatt by car and bus as well ☺️
Apologies, I am not too sure by what you mean other train? If you mean when you get off at Attnang Pucheim then yes 10 minutes is plenty to change platforms and get the train to Hallstatt!
Can you get to the 360° view on top of the mountain without doing the mine? Taking my family next year, i have a 2 years old son, so we can't enter the mine
Great video, thanks for the info. Planning a trip in May and trying to plan the 'getting around' before we arrive. I have a trip to Hallstatt from Vienna planned and maybe I'm just not used to things but trying to book a ticket in advance for cost purposes, westbahn app I cannot seem to do this but things seem alot clearer on the OBB one, alot of different options, I am looking the least time option, would this be from wien hbf-auchien-hallstatt and back?
Hello, Thank you so much for your nice comments about our video! We appreciate it a lot! I think the westbahn app only allows you to book 2 or 3 months in advance but it saves you a lot of money! You can only book vienna to Attnang Pucheim which cost around £8 and then use OBB for Attnang Pucheim to Hallstatt direct! With OBB you can book everything on there app and website so yes it’s much clearer but will cost you more. ☺️
Also, in regards to the least time option! It would be spending least amount of time at Attnang Pucheim station, last time we had to wait an hour but this time we made sure to get trains early in the day with only 10 minute wait at Attnang Pucheim so it reduced journey time. ☺️
Perfect, yes do have a look at the Westbahn service for the first part of the trip. You can save a lot of money this way and use the money on activities in Hallstatt! Have a lovely holiday and we look forward to hearing your experience afterwards ☺️

Why anyone would go from Vieanna to Halstatt I have no idea. Go to Salzburg, have a few days there and spend a day in Halstatt. This isn't a tick the box tour..........
Hello, as I said in the video our ticket was around £80-£90 altogether buying last minute but previously it’s been cheaper when we booked in advance ☺️
In the past, people took a small train to the mine. You can still see the rails at the entrance. I've been there 3 times, a nice place.
Oh wow that would have been so cool
Very nice video and gives alot info about the most common questions. Thank alot ❤
Thank you for leaving such positive feedback ☺️
Thanks for information. Going next month. Planning to drive from vienna to spend the day

Thank you so much ☺️
May I ask what month did you visit? You mentioned not taking chances with the weather
In this video we visited during end of May/beginning of June. I have also visited in September and it didn’t rain on that day. ☺️
Great video! May I know how long you spent in Hallstatt? Do you think it’s enough for a day trip, or is spending a night over there better?

How is the way from the first train to the second? Do we have to go downstairs??
