- If you are visiting Austria, this surely is the place you cannot miss, which is Hallstatt!
I thought little of it until I was there and stand in awe of this picturesque living attraction!
The only way to go to Hallstatt is by train and then ferry.
You can get the train tickets from the OBB APP, or buy from the HBF Central train station in Vienna, or purchase online. The train tickets cost starts from US$45, depending on which train you take and the time schedule.
After about 3.5 hours of train journey, you will reach Hallstatt station and need to change to a ferry. The cost of the ferry ticket is $7 euro per person, it takes less than 10 minutes to reach Hallstatt.
How does the train to Hallstatt looks like, is it comfortable for the long journey? Where to take the ferry to Hallstatt? Here you will get all the answers of the train and ferry schedule and cost.
Happy holiday!
Thank you for your beautiful and informative video.
Very useful information, thank you!
Very clear thank you
As an Austrian I cannot understand why it`s all about Hallstatt. Austria is full of beautiful places.
Can you recommend or name some good cities like Hallstatt? More specifically, somewhere I can visit from Vienna for a round trip in a day!!!!
Actually more west austrian cities look like this same as switzerland cities
Love your video, my trip is going to be the opposite of yours since I'm going to take a train from Hallstatt to Vienna, but I'm a little worry about train transition as well since I only have 8 mins to do so and don't know the station exactly like you, but thank to your video I think I will be okay now.
Very useful video, thank you!!!
You're welcome!
I need help.I want to go to Hallstatt on 27th of January. When i am trying to purchase train rickets it shows
Construction work - Train cannot operate - Due to construction work some local-trains cannot operate between Linz/Donau Hbf and Wels Hbf from 23/02/2024
Its means no train services? So i Don't understand if the train is or not? Can I buy the train tickets or follow another route.?
Hi. The section between Linz and Wels is part of the most important Austrian train route, it definitely won't be closed completely. Only a few trains will be affected. If a train is available on the schedule when you purchase the ticket, it will also be in service (unless there is anything unforeseen, of course).
