Charging batteries with lab bench power - No amps showing

Charging a battery with Laboratory Varible Switching Power Supply. No amperage shows, even when turning up the current dials. Don't worry. You can turn up the voltage to give more power in order to have enough for the Amperage to show. Remember: high voltage won't explode the battery or kill you; high amperage will: speed current vs amount current. that's That's the simplest way I can explain it in one sentence. Amperage capabilities depend on the chemicals inside, the amount, and the configuration. If you see the amperage reading dropping (lowering), then that means your battery is charging, and getting closer to being fully charged.
